How to Share your Feedback with TLC

Since the March 15th season premiere of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, TLC has aired a new episode every Tuesday evening.

As those who dislike the Duggars work tirelessly to convince the network to cancel the show, it is important for fans to make their voices heard. Click here to write a message to the Discovery Communications Viewer Relations team. Your comments matter!

  1. Your caption isn't quite accurate. Even those who USED to like the Duggars now wish they would turn away from life in the public eye, for their own good. Encouraging them to continue to play to the cameras isn't healthy for them. Sometimes when you love something, you have to let it go, for its own good.

    1. I couldn't have said it better. I think it might be time for them to let go. Their episodes are really drying up and don't seem to have any real emotion to them.

    2. I think they are fully capable of making their own decision on what is best for themselves... I for one am so encouraged by this family and have a huge amount of respect for them! I don't have to agree with everything they say or do to have it either.

    3. I rarely see any prayer or mention of God on the show anymore. I remember when faith was first and foremost. Now it seems to have taken a back seat and a mention comes up once in a while. What happened to the shows where we were able to see the family serve and minister? I miss seeing them on educational trips. I'm tired of the up close comments about nothing really. Before they started the tree house project I wish I could have seen them gather in prayer with the little ones, to pray for safety, wisdom and unity in the project at hand. That would have been nice to see.

    4. How do you know what is HEALTHY for the Duggars?

    5. Evidently you don't know of any Dugger followers. I for am one, and what you say is a lie. And we appreciate them for sharing their lives with us.

    6. I agree with the top post. Having TV cameras in your face while you're trying to deal with serious family issues is not healthy or a good idea for any family. It's the time when you need to ask for privacy.

    7. I just wrote a long message to Discovery that TLC should make Jill & Jessa Counting On a "pay per view" show that all of the Huggers can pay $45 a month subscription for to support the families in the manner they are accustomed. Then everyone will be happy!!! Right?

    9. Used to be a Duggars fanApril 18, 2016 at 2:03 PM

There's a simple way to make everyone happy. TLC/Doscovery should create a subscription channel where those who truly believe the Duggars deserve a show ( and are the "only family friendly" show on the air,...who are so saddened this show might end) can put their money up for the show. Advertisers wouldn't be needed and the show would continue. Think of how awesome y'all would feel knowing that those children were financially secure and your children would get to see the show. You could even consider it a charitable ministry donation since a lot of you seem to feel this is a ministry ordained by God.

You're asking corporations to show support for the Duggars and some of you are boycotting companies who have boycotted the Duggars. I assume some of you have businesses? Why not spend your companies money to buy ad space? I'm not suggesting this sarcastically. Looking at the numbers, you guys could cover production cost for the bargain price of about $397/month.

But, better yet, the Duggars have a fully functional production studio in house. They could produce their own web series and charge a membership fee so that those who are committed to the family can still watch and support them. Better still, without pesky contracts and market analysts, the Duggars could do their show, their way, and be even more forthright about their ministries.

      Delete
    10. Used To Be, filming it in-house would mean having to do actual work, not being handed a huge paycheck by TLC. But you're right - it could be done without a network.

      Delete
    11. How do you know they can't heal in front of the camera?

      Delete
  2. Doesn't loving the Duggars mean you also love everything they stand for and everything they've done? Have you examined the wisdom of that "love" lately? Or are you "loving" the fantasy of what a big family COULD be?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, that's not what love means. Otherwise, no one on planet earth would be lovable.

      Delete
    2. I truly don't understand why can't I love the Duggars. I love the show. I love the VALUES they stand for. Why does it seem people are so anti Duggars. If I'm confused leave me be I enjoy the Duggars that's not going to change.

      Delete
  3. I might suggest that you post a link on how to contact the sponsors of the show, if you know who they are, so we can email them and thank them for sponsoring this show. I know the protestors are doing so, so it would be great if we could so maybe they won't stop sponsoring this show. I love the Duggars and am so glad they are back on TV.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You never know who the sponsors will be week to week. Some have bought time on Discovery's networks, only to find that they ended up being aired during Counting On. Some have been appalled (without protestors stepping in) to find that out and have pulled their ads or notified Discovery (TLC parent co.) that they no longer want to air during that slot.

So basically, it's down to TLC promoting their own shows during Counting On, and then break-aways when local retailers have commercial time, and that vaires market-to-market. There would be no one link to sponsors available.

  4. While some may genuine "dislike" the Duggars, I believe many who are opposed to the show simply believe their values and lifestyle are damaging and should not be spread on a reality television show platform. Further, I think many people find their political activism offensive, bigoted, and hypocritical. No family - no matter how many people may like them - is entitled to a neverending television show.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. But who are you to say what some one else is entitled to why cant I watch what I want on TV. How does this affect others. Please explain. Why can't people just turn the channel and leave Neto enjoy my show.

      Delete
    2. Thank you. I also think children should have a chance to live a real childhood. Some of the Duggar children have no idea what it is like NOT to be filmed.

      Delete
    3. The values and lifestyles reflected in American television is not always wholesome to say the least. It is interesting to see how this family who have political views and beliefs that sometimes are different than my own navigate the world. I love the differences. I enjoy and cherish that in our country we can discuss and hear opposing views and make up our own minds on any subject and situation. The Duggars always leave me a little happier after seeing the smiles and genuine love they share.

    1. Was that Amy's wedding? It was someone's wedding last year or so.

What gets me are the leggings under Josie's dress, and I think under another girl's dress, too. They're old enough to learn (from Michelle) how to act while wearing a dress, and weddings are not a day at the gym where you're hanging upside-down anyway. Leggings hanging out send the message that they don't trust the girls and they don't trust those around the girls either, which is sad.

  8. Looks as though Counting On is already on the way out. This is the same thing people responded to before 19 Kids was cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  9. After everything that has happened in the last year, and the
content on the new show, I just can't support the Duggars anymore.
They used to be different from the other shows on T V. The show
seems staged to me and that is not genuine. They act as if Josh has
only had a minor infraction and they want to move on. The older girls
appear to only care about how they look and dress. We need to be about
the work of God and not about the work of our hair and make up. That is
    just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete

    1. 4:11 Anonymous, that's not just your opinion. That (and more) is the opinion of many former viewers, rest assured. You are not alone in your thinking. In fact, you communicated it well.

    2. Jill and Derrick are in Central America doing missions work. They're not there having ice cream Sundays and painting their toe nails. The Duggar Family even went down there with a huge load of stuff to give to the people... What on Earth are YOU talking about. So what if the Duggar girls wear make-up and wear nice thrift store clothing. They are SO much more than that. The girls are actually being good stewards with whatever money God has blessed them with, unlike a lot of today's teens who go shopping at the mall and blow all their money on worthless stuff. So what if they want to move on and not live life being stuck in the past. Part of being a believer of God is forgiving and moving on. Loving others...The world still needs the Duggar family. They set examples of godly behavior not seen on other programming. OPEN up YOUR judgmental eyes.

    3. If Josh's wife, sisters, family & Jesus forgive him then the rest of us need to get over it, too.

      Delete
    4. It's not about forgiveness, it's about the fact that these people shouldn't have a public space. Good for them if they're happy in private, but their controversial beliefs don't suit nowadays world.

      Delete
    5. 2:24 Anonymous, Jill posted a picture recently of Derick painting her toenails! I remember because it was something he did for her when she was pregnant before, and now people are speculating that she's pregnant again.

    7. Yeah but nowadays women have the same rights as men and, for example, promoting the idea that a woman who's been cheated on should stay and wait on her wrongful husband, clearly unhappy but with no alternative, is no good at all.

I love the duggars....but what I want to see is real life episodes. day to day stuff. that will make them more human like us....I think if we knew about the struggles with josh things wouldn't have been so bad. prayers for all of them. I know josh is out of rehab. praying for josh....love the girls too.....keep them on!

    1. The thing is that the struggle with Josh is very private and so it should be for the sake of Anna and the children. After the pain and humiliation she must have suffered last year, I would hope that she gets quiet time to be able to decide what to do.
Imagine how hard it miht be for the children (especially the two oldest) to understand what happened and go through that situation. If I were their parent I would never ever put them in front of a camera anymore.

  42. Why are you not addressing the disgusting posts going on at the TLC Jessa and Jill Counting on page? Disgusting memes of your children with captions that would make a sailor blush. Your fans being called the most vile names, attacked for nice comments they leave on the site, harassed to the point that they leave. On Easter Sunday a meme was posted showing Christ on the cross with the caption Happy Dead guy on a stick day !!!!! Facebook might allow this, but why does TLC, We are your fans and don't want to be treated like this. What is going on? Please have that page disabled, or you are going to end up with no one left that will put themselves out there to watch your show.

I really feel we are at the time where if Christians don't do something and defend God and our right to worship Him that we will lose our rights altogether. Like you said there may be no one left to watch the show and that's what these people are trying to do they want to drive off the Duggars fans and Christians in general. May God have mercy on all those who are lost and give us the strength and wisdom to continue to do His will.

So many fans are staying away from the TLC page for the show because they get bullied off the page by non fans repeatedly for posting their support for the family. So staged and then not having Michelle and Jim Bob around like they have disappeared or something. I just keep thinking...where are they? Do they have to hide in the bedroom or something? 53. I pray for your family. Bringing your beliefs, mine too, in front of the camera has made you targets for negative, and slanderous backlash. I also pray for Anna and Josh and their children. People make choices like his everyday but do not have to live it in the public eye. Your family is beautiful. Thank you for being humble and showing the world that faith in God and Jesus Christ are the only way to live. There are no perfect humans.

  54. I enjoy the Duggar family very much. I do miss "all" the Duggars though on one show. They are wonderful example of how a true Christian family should live from day to day. I believe that the negative comments come from people who are much too judgmental. Every family has problems, the only difference here is that you are in the limelight and nowhere to hide when problems arise. TLC should be ashamed of themselves to cancel the show in the first place. You just don't punish an entire corporation...or in this case an entire family for one bad apple. It doesn't make sense! I enjoy the new show and I like the idea they are adding the other part of the family one by one. Great strategy and I hope and pray that TLC sees the light and puts the entire family back on TV. God Bless You All!

  59. It blows my mind when I see someone post that the Duggars should shut down their entire life and hide in a cave or wear a bag over their faces just because their son did a dispicable thing! Yes Josh did go wrong and not one time did I hear the family condone or make excuses for his wrong doings. They actually where very remorseful about his decision. SO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO THINK THE DUGGARS ARE BAD BECAUSE OF WHAT THEIR SON DID and should be taken off TV should look at your own family. I'm sure you will find someone who has done something very simular to that of Josh...or maybe even worse....now if you have a son or daughter that has been on drugs, in sexual misconduct, etc, then I suggest you quit your job, stop going our into public, or even go to the local grocery store, and go hide in a cave yourself. You have become an EVIL person because someone in your family did wrong! We are ALL in the public eye no matter what we do! "He who is without sin cast the first stone!"

  68. I enjoy watching the "Counting On" series, but miss the entire family. I feel its a kind of a slap in the face to Michael and Jim Bob. Its not their fault one of their children went astray in the past. As a parent you cannot control every single thing your child does. They have trained all their children to follow after God, and have taught them biblical principles since they were little. Like the saying goes...you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. Josh is like the prodigal son...what an incredible testimony it would be to have Josh come back to TLC. It would be awesome to see Josh and Ann's marriage stronger than ever and focused on God. It would be great to see the whole family (19 kids and counting) back on the air.

I don't lose sleep over this because I just have to worry about myself & my family and also it really isn't none of my business. Yes the show was nicer & sweeter back when the kids were small. Than your kids grow up, act like they know more than you do & start dating. That's when the drama begins. Than they get married. You hope they remember some of the things they learned while they were under your roof. That's called life some days it's good & some days not so good. I can only imagine how hard it would be playing it out on live TV. I still say it's up to the Duggar Family. If they want to be on TV that's fine with me. If they don't that's fine also. The Lord be with you all.

  76. 1. It's not about being punished: for each and every show after every season the network makes a decision about whether to keep the show going or not. The Duggars already made enough money by being on tv for 11 years. They haven't been punished, they sere so lucky to have that in the first place!

  77. Love the Duggars. Just wondering when are the episodes of Counting on going to be aired in Australia?

  78. If the Duggar reality show returns to TLC ... the first episode should focus on Josh Duggar addressing his dark, sordid, disturbing behavior that "rocked to the core" the lives of his wife, children, parents, and siblings. It's time for him to face the world and take ownership for his destructive life choices. Imagine ... a "reality" television show that addressed "square on" the hard, unpleasant reality of life. No matter if this show returns to the TLC programming line-up, Josh Duggar needs to face the world; take ownership for his life; humble himself; and then get on with the nearly impossible task of rejoining society by making a living for his family and being a responsible husband, father, son, and brother. I do not envy him this task.

    1. Josh needs to do all that, but not on camera. He showed that his online/on-air persona is not what it should be.

  79. I commented on the TLC page as well. I realize that the ticket isn't how many loyal fans they have, but having enough sponsors to make it worth it for TLC. It is about the bottom dollar, not fans loving their show or others opposing it, but if they have enough sponsors. I made the suggestion that they seek sponsors who will match their target audience, like home school curriculum, or the like. Why not have a win/win?

  80. I suggested that Discovery have Nancy at TLC make Jill & Jessa Counting On a "pay per view subscription" charging only $45 a month. That way the million and millions if fans TLC claims they have can support the families in the manner they are accustomed! Problem solved.... The Duggers/Dillard's/Seewald's can still show you all how to build a tree house, roast a turkey, watch paint dry, etc etc!!!! I only see a win win in this proposal!!!

  81. I have tried several times to put a comment on but bin rejected I dont think you realise how many people have bin hurt by the deception of this family better we had known and could have prayed for them

  82. I think if Josh and family had ever admitted seriousness of what occurred there may not have been as much backlash. As a family member of someone who was molested, this is not a little thing. It seems like this was not dealt with seriously and seemed to be aimed at protecting Josh not the girls. I still watch hoping this would be addressed

  83. I love how there's Duggar "haters" on the comments, but somehow they are still keeping up with them through the this blog! Makes no sense! LOVE THE DUGGARS!!

  84. The Duggars always make me smile and put me in a good mood. I am so glad that they are back on TV. TLC's approach to focus on the older kids and the new 2nd generation families was a good solution.

  85. I am grateful that TLC is choosing to air a Christian family who is rooted in biblical faith in God, when so much of television is offensive and against the gospel. We all fail in life, and have others fail us. We all fall short of God's best for us, and the beautiful thing about God is that he does not love us based on our behavior, but our belief in him. He loves us because he created us and when he gives us the grace to believe in him through faith, and we confess our sins against God, we are forgiven and made into new (not perfect), but much better than we were before - and made progressively holier throughout our lives. I am thankful that we still get an opportunity to see how the Duggars walk through regular repentance, forgiveness, and redemption because of God's love for them. It's encouraging that TLC has the courage to offer programming for people who value and appreciate it, and for those who someday might value it, even if they don't yet.

  86. I used to love watching the Duggar's, but unfortunately, numerous incidents happened which ultimately changed how this family was
profiled. I truly believe they are Christians but they are unjustly judgmental of others causing many to turn away from them.
Sincerely, they dislike criticism, but their actions attract it. I view arrogance which is not Godly whatsoever. I truly believe the entire family should remove themselves from the public eye and build their family up again. Maybe then they will be ready to be honest about their own downfalls and the public will actually believe they love "all" God's children without their judgment of others.

judgmental in spite of what transpired within their own family. The
family would like to hide facts but that is unreasonable. We all have

e sinned and beg for forgiveness and

  87. Done with Duggars I believed in them. They hid from the world what happened. Praying may help them but the girls have to live it the rest of their lives. If I was to hear Jimbobs lets pray as a family one more time or Josh and Anna in a scene I along with others will cancel our TLC program. Move on please .

    1. Jim Bob did not lead his family properly, not through what happened.

    2. Why would they tell such a thing to the world? If I was one of the girls I wouldn't want everybody knowing my brother molested me.

  88. If the "haters" don't want to watch, then don't watch! What does it matter to them if it airs or not? There are enough people who have watched this family grow up and are interested. And if any of the Duggars want to continue filming that is their business. I aldo can't see why they are cutting out the rest of the family.

  89. Who hasn't made mistakes in their lives before? Those who live in a glass house shouldn't throw stones. And Jesus tells us to forgive seventy times seven. Just because the Duggars aren't perfect, doesn't mean their show should be cancelled! They are a very strong Christian family and they should be able to stay on tv! It's ok for other shows to promote inappropriate, vulgar shows? But get rid of a Christian family show? Hypocrites make no sense. I'll pray that more tv channels aire Christian families and shows that have morals and values!

  90. I miss the rest of the family. Hate that the show was cancelled. Josie and the boys...well it just seems unfair. Miss Jimbob and everyone. Couldn't you bring it back without Joshua if that is what is stopping you.

  91. I, for one, would love to see a show focused on a repentant Josh, explaining why he did what he did, how it progressed, how (hopefully) he has experienced redemption and is now following the Lord. If he helps only one other man, that would be great.

  92. Why does any family feel the need to have a television show about themselves? Why does any family feel the need to ask people to write to TLC on their behalf to keep a show going about themselves? I have nothing against the Duggars but their shows are becoming monotonous and seems to be all about making money. They don't seem to do anything worthwhile on these shows and in fact don't seem to do anything worthwhile at all but maybe I am missing something. They are not part of the everyday community but want everyday Americans to watch them for the mere reason they have had 19 kids. Why don't they just get on with their lives and concentrate on the upbringing of their kids instead of worrying about television ratings.

  93. I used to like the Duggars and thought very highly of them until I saw how they handled all the drama this past year.Blame yourselves and not everyone else.I am as conservative as they come, but I want your show cancelled.Your family would have a greater impact if they would just fade into obscurity right now and stay private. You're just opening yourselves up for more judgement and ridicule.

  94. If you listened to secular music, I would tell you to play Taylor Swift's shake it off- for all of these rude and negative comments. I apologize for these people as a member of the same society. LOVE is all we need... and that's comes from God. Bless you!

  95. If they are doing all of this to "encourage", why do they have to get a paycheck for everything they do. No speaking engagements without a hefty check. I think they started out with really good intentions, but now it just seems to be a paycheck. If the money was not there, would they be "healing" in front of the tv crew? No, they would be asking for their privacy. None of those kids knows a financial hardship - so why are they asking for money from those who do? I have no gripe with the family, but I have lost my respect for them when they are all over social media, putting out little snippets of information, trying to lure people to watch their show. Why can't they just say, yes we are having a baby, or no we are not ... it's to try to get people to watch which ultimately equates into money. If they are so different, they should just promote honesty and truthfulness and stop with these wordly games and little ploys. That is not what the original show was founded on but that is where it seems to have gone.

  96. I am so happy that the Duggars are back on TV even if it is not the entire family. Its good to see that they have forgiven, are healing and moving on. I enjoy seeing what the older kids are up to. Especially Jill, Derrick and Israel. My favorite parts of the show are when we get to see them in Central America. I would like to see more of Jim Bob and Michelle though.

  97. Keep the duggars on air this show is very good and I love it I would like to see the babies grow up and see how they become. I would also like to see how the families become and watch more get married and become families
