Jana Duggar, Lighting Specialist

When you have a task to complete, which Duggar family member should you call? (Hint: She's the oldest girl and incredibly handy!) Check out this video:

  1. So Jana cooks, cleans, raises children, changes light fixtures, and does construction. Can I marry her??

  2. I like how close and ready to lend a hand these sisters are for each other. However, doesn't Jana want to be productive in her life, beyond caring for her younger siblings, Daddy's project and helping her sisters?

  3. Jana is my favorite! People always say "Oh poor Jana, having to run the house and take care of babies all the time!" but she obviously loves those kids. She always grabs for the babies. :)

  4. I would really love to see more of Jana. She's my favorite Duggar! I feel like we don't see as much of her as we do the other older kids. I wonder what made her not as outgoing as she once was.

    1. I think they are going to show a lot of her since she's a fan favorite

  6. For what I watched through this show, it always seems that Jana is always serving, which is really good but somehow I feel Jessa in particular is always taking advantage of her. Just like when she was joking and chatting with her other sisters while Jana stressed out to fix and sew her bridesmaid dresses.
I also wonder if Jana feels guilty for what Josh did to her sisters and I highly doubt he didn't do it to her, too. Maybe that's why she changed her "outgoing" personality like John David just described from when she was little. Also, notice her change now since everything about Josh went public she seems to be more talkative and relieved. I hope she finds true healing. I wish her the best. She deserves it.

    1. Totally agree.

    2. I honestly wonder if it has anything to do with the jewelry box incident. Jessa said she has always challenged her but think about it, that is what she has been allowed to do. JB and M made Jana give Jessa her precious jewelry box when Jessa was being a brat! It affected Jana as she cried about it a few years back. I bet it wasn't the only incident. It is like what Jana wanted didn't matter.

    3. @Annonymous 11:03. I so agree with what you said. The "jewelry box" incident has always bothered me. As a parent--and especially a Christian--I can not understand rewarding Jessa's behavior by taking from Jana what was precious to her. There is nothing Biblical about that. It seems in this family the worse the "mistakes" the more reward. I remember an episode when Michelle said Jana was more challenging than John-David as a small child so "Miss Jana" required more correction. She appears sad at times--fearful now of ever doing/saying anything wrong as if she were to be " corrected" again. I believe "Miss Jana" had the spunk corrected right out of her.

    4. I agree. But little Josie gets away with anything. When you look back at the kids' behavior when the show first started - all kids quiet in public, lined up like ducks in a row - and you look at their behavior now, huge difference. What happened? Michelle still tries that quiet voice discipline, but you can see the kids are ignoring her & acting up.

  7. Boy howdy, I would jump at the chance to marry that woman. She loves the Lord, she knows her way around tools, gets things done, what a catch. The man who marries her will have truly found a wonderful gift from the Lord.

    1. You do realize you'd get the whole in-law package, not just Jana?

    2. Absolutely, marriage is about two families coming together. My life goal is to own a piece of property some day where all of my family, extended, in-law, or otherwise would be able to move in. I'm not sure what negative connotation you are attempting to suggest here, but I'm all in if I had that opertunity.

  8. Multi-talented Jana! She'd be a great catch for any deserving guy. I'd really love to see her find the perfect man!

    1. Or I truly think she should have a contract from TLC of her own, put into her own bank account. She is going to be the glue that keeps this show on!

  13. For a family that is for modesty, how does continually seeing Jessa breastfeeding on camera fit in with modesty? They are very conservative regarding certain things but with others, they really surprise us, just like the pregnancies on camera, breastfeeding while in a parade, etc.

  14. It's nice seeing a lot more of Jana but this episode was primarily on installing the lights which made for a very dull topic. Come on, TLC. Can't you do better?
