Truth can often sound harsh but as a cat lover and also a Duggar fan....I believe still that a fact needs to be known even when it sounds disagreeable. Josh and Anna are wonderful sweet people but one can disagree on a point without being defamatory or derrogatory. Profane is not a good way to make a point in my opinion anyway. Thought: If they want to teach the children how to treat a pet then why not borrow a kitten temporarily from Michell's? She has plenty of experience from working in a shelter and has taught her young ones how to care for kittens! Then she could take them back when they are a bit older. Hmmmmmmmmm. That might solve it for Josh and Anna....eh?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-66326212235992804132012-10-16T00:12:52.521-05:002012-10-16T00:12:52.521-05:00@Anonymous

And, I fear for the J & A kitten that it will incur the same fate as the cat prior. Why would you ever nurture and kitten, make it part of your family and then allow it to go outside and not attempt to have it come in regularly? Not only are you not modeling how to take proper care of a pet; but you are being cruel to that animal. Josh and Anna are living in sweet denial it they truly believe their cat is living at a neighbors (then please show us your cat at that neigbor's home). I love cats but can't keep them indoors due to being allergic, so mine stays outside. She's got her own shelter outdoors (above the ground so stray dogs (and careless owners who let their dogs wander) can't get to her) and protected from the wind and rain with a cat bed, as well as being safe from other cats.

My first cat, whom I found out from I was allergic, was kept indoors and was a terror! We ended up giving her to a neighbor who kept her outside and she was right as rain. More things to play with outside, the company of other cats, plus she could hunt and do whatever it was she did.

I see nothing wrong with it. The cat comes when she's called and she's spayed, so no overpopulation. She doesn't wander out of our area (we live in a rural area) and is perfectly happy. She is up to date on everything as well. I hope they will be responsible pet owners and keep the kitten inside. A cat can not compete with a two ton car. If you are keeping the kitten inside for a period of time and then throwing it outisde you are not teaching your children how to be responsble pet owners. Plus you wouldn't throw your child outside and expect it to fend for itself, would you? Of course not,so why is it okay to throw out a young cat?
I have 5 children, 3 cats and 1 dog. The cats are not allowed to go outside and while the dog is obviously allowed to go out, she isn't allowed to bark continously and get on the neighbors nerves.
