I have a 2yo and 1 yo.

Also, a lot of the links and videos are "no longer available" on the Duggar blog website. Is this because they were removed or the link is incorrect?

Also, is there any parenting advice Michele can offer for little ones as far as correction and discipline? I see a lot of adivce for slightly older children than mine and sometimes feel at a loss for the right action for the little ones. I try to train my little ones so I don't have to discipline but when they disobey should I spank them? I assume the duggars for legality reasons may not publicly encourage spanking, however I do believe it is biblical and would assume they do to since they follow biblical principles. Regardless, I want to give appropriate correction and discipline, for the appropriate age, and for appropriate action that has taken place. I struggle at times what I am supposed to do as a parent. Any adivce would help.
Ty!
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-47922374604529734852018-08-29T00:38:09.176-05:002018-08-29T00:38:09.176-05:00I homeschool and I suggest Winterpeomise, Mystery ...I homeschool and I suggest Winterpeomise, Mystery of History, Learning Language Arts through Literature, Life of Fred, Math Mammoth, Spelling Through Copywork Queen Homeschool, Apologia Science and Layers of Learning there are so many wonderful options.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13155889767495034626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-8188789510138563042017-08-14T16:39:59.543-05:002017-08-14T16:39:59.543-05:00Which curriculum do the Duggars use for grades 3-1...Which curriculum do the Duggars use for grades 3-12?Trilbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05268721438124922374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-60991120295857666562016-09-17T18:00:41.339-05:002016-09-17T18:00:41.339-05:00We used the ACE program for our daughter, who is no...We used the ACE program for our daughter, who is now 6 and we are using the 2nd grade program for her as 1st grade. I have health issues and unfortunately it limits the normal structure for a "regular" school schedule. We get the work done (PACE books). Our daughter is also easily distracted. Since we haven't tried other programs, I'm not sure if ACE is the best for us to use. Due to my health issues most of the schoolwork needs to be mostly a type program where she can do work on her own through the materials and I'm here if needed. Suggestions would be great! Blessings to all. Thank you in advance.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17580081985722844262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-2606224315164183562016-05-26T14:31:40.219-05:002016-05-26T14:31:40.219-05:00I have a special needs son that I will be home sch...I have a special needs son that I will be home schooling next year, does anyone know what's best Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01097931789610216833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-64688705444241840782015-07-23T18:36:36.023-05:002015-07-23T18:36:36.023-05:00Was really sad to see Saxon Math, Understanding Wr...Was really sad to see Saxon Math, Understanding Writing and Beautiful Feet unit studies left off the list. They were basically just really boring, and not teaching me any information I hadn't already learned. They might be good for students who are not as advanced in a specific subject, but they just didn't feel like they have much "meat" to them.

2) Saxon math rocks. I know they use fantasy creatures in their word problems, but aside from that, it's truly a wonderful way to teach math. We used it not only when I was homeschooled, but it was the textbook choice of a private school I had the luck to attend in 5th and 6th grade. The constant review of material in their homework and tests force students to truly absorb all the information, instead of learning something for a test and then forgetting it.

If your child is dong well enough in math in another, less secular curriculum, you may choose to avoid exposing them to Saxon's word problems. However, of all topics that can be secularized, math is the one that suffers the least. If you think your child needs the unique structure of the Saxon program, the mention of elves, dwarves, or faeries in word problems is easily addressed with your child.

3) Bob Jones University Press had a very good high school level history text set, but because I was homeschooling with the goal of college admission and my mother still had her college-level American History and Western Civilization textbooks, we utilized BJUP and those texts together. Unlike Alpha Omega, BJUP definitely felt like it had "meat" to what it was teaching.

4) Duke University and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln have correspondence courses in math and science -- the UNL courses also included lab materials. It appears the UNL program is now the University of Nebraska High School, and includes an accredited diploma. Proctors must be used for all tests.

Sadly I can't recommend a good high school language arts curriculum. We did a quick review of a 12-grade grammar textbook (having me take the tests) and then went straight into literature and writing. We were able to find the local high school's reading lists online, and when I ended up re-entering public school in the hopes of getting an accredited diploma, I had already read all the books I had to read for English. I ended up recycling several papers.Maranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-52377828109524069242015-05-09T19:56:29.463-05:002015-05-09T19:56:29.463-05:00does anyone have experience with AOP's Life Pa...does anyone have experience with AOP's Life Pac? They do usually charge, but a lot of them are quite reasonable. You can also see if your state offers a free online homeschool option through the public school system. Several states do. It's a great option if you just need to earn your diploma. We do something called Classical Conversations. It is a Christian based curriculum where you are on your own doing school Friday through Monday or Wednesday through Tuesday, it really depends on where you nearest Classical Conversations is. But, anyways... Once a week, you go to a small homeschool group in the same grade/same age, as you and you go over what you have done in the week, if you have any questions or problems they will help you with it. Also it is small like I said. The maximum is 12 Children per grade for that area, but they prefer 5-7 children. We, currently have only 3 children in our group. I really like this homeschooling curriculum, esoesially that one on one teacher- student relationship.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-74243180986194159532014-12-10T21:32:32.741-06:002014-12-10T21:32:32.741-06:00I am a Sonlight user.
