Kendra Duggar was arrested by the Tontitown Police Department yesterday afternoon and released the same day on bond. She was charged with Four Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a minor, 2nd Degree, and Four Counts of False Imprisonment, 2nd Degree. Joseph Duggar, who remains in jail, was also issued the same charges, in addition to those issued to him earlier this week. The police department issued a press release saying that because the situation involves minors, details are being kept confidential. The investigation is ongoing.
I'm praying for all of those involved, especially the victims in this very sad and disturbing case.

DeleteI wonder if this will change how much the families allow themselves to be filmed for family members youtube channels. I like the recent videos but I think everyone in their families are going to want to become more private and less willing to be viewed online now. It is a dog eat dog world when these stories become a media frenzy.

DeleteI am having a hard time reconciling "Kendra arrested" with my memories of her from the show as a kind-hearted person and wholesome person. We will likely never know the details of what happened, but I am guessing that possibly she and Joe tried to hide/protect their children from being interviewed by the police or CPS. I don't mean to start a rumor--just trying to process the charges. I just can't believe that Kendra would intentionally endanger her children.
ReplyDelete@3:54 You can "endanger" your children by looking the other way when you shouldn't be. For instance, if you know someone could be a danger but you don't do anything about keeping your kids away from them - carrying on as if nothing is happening. (It's a wonder Jim Bob and Michelle didn't lose custody when the first Josh actions came to light.) The police and/or CPS found something to warrant the charges to both parents last Friday. Officials should be investigating both parents and the home with a magnifying glass in cases like this! We'll see if they can get the charges to stick. If there's enough evidence, they should.

ReplyDeleteWhat I find interesting is that the family was quick to put out statements, one way or the other, every time Josh made headlines. They're staying pretty quiet right now about Joe. Jessa had a post that was supposedly removed quickly once the Kendra news broke. Jill may have spoken out but I don't know if her post is still up or not. Cousin Amy picked up a camera right away and gave info for the media. Nothing from the family otherwise. Have they learned that making statements in these cases serves no real purpose?

DeleteFirstly, so saddened by Kendra’ family member who’ been abused when on holiday together and secondly that sweet Kendra, no doubt in utter loyalty to her husband, Jo, has been caught up in it & charged too.

DeletePraying for Kendra and the children. I hope that the children are not removed and placed into foster care with strangers. They are young and innocent and need to be with family who love them. I pray for the entire Duggar extended family. News media can be so cruel and often make false accusations.
ReplyDelete12:14 Joe confessed to the father and then to the police. The police departments in Florida and Arkansas then both made statements. Only then did the news pick up on it. The media did not make "false accusations." It's online gossip sites, not news stations, who are trying to piece together the story using the very small amount of details made public by authorities so far. You're making it sound as if all this could be false and made up accusations. Not when Joe confessed already.

ReplyDeleteI don't understand what this is all about. The local authorities obviously think the children are in some sort of danger and/or are being treated badly. I think the Duggars should offer some explanation of what is going on.

"Child endangermet" allegations can be blown out of proportion at times, so until there's been a proper investigation, trial, and Kendra has had the chance to defend herself, we shouldn't jump to conclusions. I also hope the children are with loving family and not being exposed to trauma in the foster care system.
ReplyDeleteThere wouldn't have been child endangerment charges without a proper investigation. They don't just throw that kind of charge at you to see if it sticks. Someone and something prompted those 8 charges.
Delete9:49. Yes I agree. They may be putting pressure on Kendra for some other information..hard to say. Just know what I have seen on TV and pictures shared publicly by family..she seems like such a sweet lady…maybe she is more a victim than realized.
