When asked what they miss about being on reality TV, many of the Duggars have said that they miss the crew. Filming an episode of 19 Kids and Counting (or 18 Kids and Counting, 17 Kids and Counting, or Counting On) took a lot more than you might expect. The production company employed a crew whose full-time jobs were following the Duggars around and documenting their lives.
Some of the crew members came and went, but a few of them were around for years and became like family to the Duggars. When the show was canceled, the Duggars went from seeing these people multiple times a week to hardly seeing them at all.
On the latest episode of their podcast, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo sit down with Jim Goodwin the sound guy, whom the Duggars affectionately called Uncle Jim, and his wife, Michele. Jim was a member of the crew for many years and watched the Duggar kids grow up. He was with them for their biggest moments, both joyous and heartbreaking, and he traveled with them overseas to Asia and Europe. On the podcast, Jim shares what it was like to be a crew member of such a popular television show, and he praises the Duggars' genuineness. They were the same both on and off camera, and their authenticity made an impact on him.
