Jana in Las Vegas

On her trip to Los Angeles with Jason and James, Jana also stopped in Las Vegas. There, she visited the Las Vegas World Market, a showcase of international designers and vendors in the home design industry. In this picture, you'll see Jana's new blonde balayage highlights.

  5. I am glad that Jana is interested in California and got to go to the world market shows. I am wondering if Jason, James or Jana will move there someday. I am praying for the Duggars and the extended family members. I really would love ♥️ and enjoy and be excited ❣️ for there to be a another spin off of hopefully coming back on cable tv sometime in the future. Natasha b

  7. Generally you can't go to shows like this unless you're in the trade. Is there something she's not telling us?

    1. Should she tells us?

    2. If she has started a business, I don't know why she's not telling us. The Duggars always promote their things.

      Delete
    3. She talked of starting a business on the show. She didn't go into many details of what she's selling, but her parents applauded that. Well, if they didn't want that, then they were saving face. After all, what else is she supposed to do besides get a job; if she hasn't met the right man, she hasn't met the right man. We'll see what comes with this.

    4. I agree. I don't like tease pictures. If she has a home decor business, she should come out and say it. If she's there only as a visitor with her friend Laura, no harm in saying that either. But don't stand there posing as if you're a designer, no explanation. It's confusing.

      Delete
    5. How do you pose as a designer? As opposed to posing like a non-designer?

      Delete
    6. @10:17 LVMRKT is open to anyone who buys a ticket. Jana has long expressed interest in home decor, she is not "posing" as a designer...she had her picture taken in front of the LVMRKT sign.

    7. @7:00 Their website said you had to have a badge with your business name.

    10. 8:47, maybe she's still working on her business plan. So what?

      Delete
    11. @2:55 You're talking about people who can court, get engaged, plan a wedding, get married, and get pregnant, all in about a 6-month period. If there's a business, you have to wonder why it's not on the "fast track" along with everything else they do.

      Delete
    12. 6:51, the obvious answer to that is that there is no groom on the scene.

      Delete
    13. 6:51, I totally misread what you were saying! 😄 There's really no telling why she hasn't started up yet. Maybe circumstances got in the way or she's still mulling her ideas or whatever. The reason they fast track is to "avoid temptation," which doesn't really apply to starting a business. Apples and oranges.

  9. So much for Mom and Dad's modesty dress rules and claiming that "we prefer skirts."

    1. You do know she's 31, right?

      Delete
    2. Exactly. “We prefer skirts”. That doesn’t mean their adult daughters living at home HAVE to wear skirts. Jana is still dressing modestly. When the Duggars did conferences the dress code was ALWAYS “Business Casual”, NOT “Women MUST wear skirts.” From what I saw on film or video of book signings, as well as comments on blogs and videos about book signings they spoke pleasantly to people regardless of how the people were dressed.

    3. Do you expect your children to follow childhood rules when they reach adulthood???

      Delete
    4. 12:23 Well, it's plain to see that this is a new thing for unmarried Jana at the age of 31. Up until now, she's been wearing only the approved Duggar uniform- skirts and dresses. It stands to reason that people may be curious about the change and what brought it on.

      Delete
    5. @5:35 I don't agree. They invented the phrase "Nike" to warn their children (especially the boys) that someone nearby was dressed how they considered to be inappropriately. They were constantly on the lookout for what other people were wearing and definitely didn't want it influencing their children. They may have appeared pleasant at a book signing, but at other times, they proudly told everyone about the way they came up with "Nike" and how they used it in public.

      Delete
    6. The Duggars have a much bigger problem, Josh, to worry about than a 31yr old daughter wears pants!!

      Delete
    7. 5:35 The dress code for any IBLP/ATI events or conferences does mandate skirts or dresses for women, as well as no low-cut necklines or tank tops.

      Delete
    8. There are so many more pressing problems in the world than what a 31-year-old wears.

      Delete
    9. Good point 3:44. They may have kept quiet around others at book signings but we all know about Nike and why they came up with it. They certainly did think females were dressed wrong by Duggar standards.

      Delete
    10. They give them a choice when they are older. Usually when you are younger, no matter how you grow up, mom always picks out your clothes.

    1. Or her convictions have changed over time. People can change their mind.

      Delete
    2. Not necessarily. I didn’t wear pants as a teenager which I would have said was my conviction too. Then as as adult I reevaluated the idea of wearing pants and don’t believe it is wrong according to the Bible. My husband didn’t care either way, so I started wearing pants. It is ok to stop and take a look at the Bible for yourself and make your own choices.

      Delete
    3. @9:33 You're not supposed to change your mind about your religious teachings. Until Jana and the other Duggar girls tell us that they have purposely stepped away from their religious upbringing, big changes like pants are going to continue to raise questions.

      Delete
    4. Sorry @3:48. You can change your religious teaching, especially when those past teachings were wrong.
I changed my mind about my past teachings after careful studying of my Bible and much prayer.

      Delete
    5. So when you say the Duggar rules are out tell me when have you seen mama Duggar wearing pants?

      Delete
    6. @4:09 and @3:48. People evolve in their thinking and in their understanding or,at least, most people do. They question and re-evaluate beliefs and assumptions. They hopefully learn, by experience, So, I am not surprised if the Duggar young ladies have changed their opinion on pants. It is after all a minor issue. Who cares if some women wears pants or not? I am 100% sure that God does not care.

      Delete
    7. @9:47 I am 100% sure that the Duggars tried to make it be about God indeed caring what you wore.

      Delete
    8. 3:48 PM --- "Religious teachings" are not the same thing as God's Word. One can change and is different for many religions, including denominations, cults, sects, etc. The other -- God's Word -- is unchanging and inerrant. That being said, God's Word does NOT say a woman cannot wear pants. She's not to dress to impersonate a man. Two different things.

      Delete
    9. @7:25 God's word is the basis for (Christian) religious teachings. If someone is giving you (Christian) religious teachings without that, they're doing it wrong. It's then their word and their ideas. Don't be deceived by that. The Duggars are Christian, BTW.

  16. Someone who knows needs to explain to us out here why Jana, an unmarried woman, still under the umbrella of authority of her father and mother, who disapprove of women wearing pants, is now wearing pants and photographing it? I thought they were ALL IN AGREEMENT with their parents about their rules and beliefs? I know the married ones have abandoned this silly unreligious rule but Jana is not married. It is because the show has been cancelled and they don't have to 'wear the uniform' and life the lie publicly anymore?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She’s 31 years old! Her parents can’t tell her what to do! Also, I didn’t realize you had to be married to wear pants.

      Delete
    2. It doesn't make sense. The books, the shows, the number of times every female in that family adamantly said that skirts were their belief and skirts were their preference... Then suddenly everyone is in pants and shorts and sleeveless tops, no explanation (as if an explanation would be the whole truth either). Their belief system has shifted? The girls don't believe what their parents do any more? All those years going around in public (books, TV, lectures) saying skirts were the modest way to dress - all that is out the window now??

      Delete
    3. Her outfit is definitely modest - maybe more so than some of the skirts and tight dresses! She looks like a professional young woman. Go Jana!

    4. People reality shows aren't real. lol it's all scripted which is why you see not one of the adult kids dressing the way they use to when they were in 19 Kids and counting, there is no ministry work like there was back then. It looks like any secular family now, celebrating themselves and looking just like everyone else. It was all just a way to make money and sell books. Reality shows are to make money, that's all.

      Delete
    5. 8:17AM: Yes, in this family, the girls had to be married before they could wear pants.

      Delete
    6. All the married daughters are Married now and Jana is 31…. Sooooo they can choose to wear their own clothes…. People do change their style of clothing … it was their mother’s belief and that is what they were taught…..

      Delete
    7. 4:26 i do agree that all the changes are because of the show cancellation. but if they want to keep trying to monetize their "fame" cannot see who the target audience can be.

      Delete
    8. 2:18 I don't think there is a target audience for who they are now. They will eventually move on to regular jobs and live out of the spotlight. Personally I think reality shows destroy families after awhile.

      Delete
    9. From what I have read and heard, it is until the daughters move out. When they made that declaration, however, they did not know what the future held. Since Jana is over 30, they are being respectful and accepting of how her life is.

      Delete
    10. @12:08pm,that's right I don't see one Duggar who dresses the way she used to but five, Anna, Jessa, Kendra, Lauren, Joy and Claire, but I was sure Jana wouldn't rebel like Jinger and Jill because she doesn't rebel with anything, she's always been the good obedient one, but anyway I think the parents are being less strict now, if they are OK with Jinger and Jill wearing pants they probably told Jana do what you like, at least she doesn't wear skinny like her two sisters, lol.

      Delete
    11. @12:08, I have to agree with what you wrote. A lot of what they did was for the show. Also, I feel that the adult children see that there is no Biblical basis for some things that they were taught.

    1. I thought Jana looked so beautiful and womanly in dresses and skirts. I know families where all the women wear dresses and skirts and they are some of the most beautiful women around. I find it really curious how all the girls in the Duggar family after marrying change so much about themselves including the way they dress. My friends didn't do that after marrying and yet all the Duggar s did even after making money promoting the way they dress and about being involved in ministry work etc. There is something really strange about this.

      Delete
    2. @6:49 Nothing so strange about it- it's called hypocrisy. BTW, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've never thought long, droopy dresses or jean skirts look beautiful. They look dowdy to me and age a person.

  19. She looks gorgeous! She's wearing an elegant and modest outfit. Remember it's what's in your heart that counts. I hope she enjoyed her visit here to L.A. too.

  20. I don't know why people make such a big deal about them wearing pants, like it's a great accomplishment. Pants aren't that flattering on women.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 10:48 Well, I don't think there's anything the least bit flattering about long, saggy dresses or voluminous jean skirts. The reason pants are being brought up here is because the Duggars have always made a big deal about modesty and wearing skirts. Things have sure changed!

      Delete
    2. You think pants aren't that flattering on women? I think pants aren't that flattering on a lot of men. Ever see a size 42 waist think he's still a size 36? I rest my case. Would rather see any pants on a woman than the wrong size pants on a man.

      Delete
    3. So you don’t think Jana looks good in this picture? I for one think she looks amazing and definitely not unflattering.

      Delete
    4. I think the look here is pretty boring, not especially flattering. Her clothes, that is. Her face and hair are gorgeous.

      Delete
    5. Some people will find anything about which to criticize the Duggars.

      Delete
  21. I grew up wearing skirts and still do now as a married woman. It is my conviction that it is more modest to not wear form-fitting clothes, and that it is important for men and women to be modest. However, loose pants can be as modest as a skirt. Usually pants that are loose enough to fit my standard of modesty are quite unflattering, so I’d rather wear feminine skirts than ugly pants! I don’t think wearing skirts is necessary to be a Christian, because it’s not a salvation issue.

I don’t keep up with the Duggars other than this blog, so idk what else Jana might be wearing these days, but it’s possible that she just wears loose fitting pants that are modest like skirts. This pair looks loose, not form fitting. Very classy too!

Just the two cents of a conservative young woman!

    ReplyDelete

    1. I don't like skirts because people can see up your skirt. My school we were not allowed to were skirts everyone wore pants

      Delete
    2. Do you wear "loose" skirts? I'm not sure how they'd be any more attractive than loose pants.

      Delete
    3. In one sentence you say that loose pants are unflattering, yet in another you say Jana's look loose, but classy. A rather confusing observation, IMO. I'm awfully glad I don't feel a need to fret about my clothing choices being "modest" enough. I wear what is comfortable. If someone else has an issue with seeing me in a pair of shorts on a hot day, it's their problem, not mine. (Not that anyone is going to be turned on by my varicose veins and 67 year old skin!)

    4. Thank you Hannah from a conservative older woman!

    5. Thank you 7:22, from another “mature” woman who wants to be comfortable in the heat, as well.

      Delete
    6. @7:22 totally agree with you. At 66, I've worn pants and shorts all my life.(No one is going to get turned on by my fat body). So glad that my parents didn't raise me with such crazy rules. I didn't raise my daughter that way either.

      Delete
    7. Oh dear all the 60-somethings defrauding the poor Duggar boys and boys/men everywhere with the shorts and the post-child-bearing leg veins! What is this world coming to. LOL

      Delete
  22. Everyone grows, learns more, has discussions, and changes. Michelle Duggar had said years ago that she had some "baggage" from before she met Jim Bob. Maybe part of her life changes at that time involved wearing skirts only, and as time went by, those values were discussed and agreed upon with her girls. At any given time in our growing up and adulthood, we may change ideas we once held. For example, some people may eat meat, then years later decide not to eat meat. Just because they wrote a book and mentioned their agreement on wearing skirts does not bind them to that for life. We all need to extend the same courtesy and grace that we would like to have give to us.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I seriously doubt those daughters had any say in whether or not they wore skirts while still living at home. It fit the conservative "modest" narrative JB and Michelle wanted to promote. This was also a hallmark of the IBLP doctrine. I have hunch that Jana moved out and that's why she's sporting a new wardrobe change.

      Delete
    2. Exactly! Well said!!!

      Delete
    3. I agree with you @11:46. People seem to be stuck in the Duggar ladies past. The book they wrote was when they were in their teens. They are now adults and have actually taken the time to read their Bibles for themselves and study their Bibles. They each of realized much of what they were taught through that organization was unbiblical.

That being said, just because Jana is in pants 1. Doesn't mean she changed because the show was canceled.I don't know if Jana was on the show much. We didn't always see pictures of Jana on a daily basis.

      2. Just because is wearing pants doesn't mean she never held the conviction to wearing skirts and or dresses only. She has the right wear pants if she wants. She looks very modest and beautiful.

      3. In case anyone is wondering, neither she nor the Duggar parents owe us a "statement" regarding the wearing of pants by the Duggar ladies.

      Delete
    4. @1:12 Maybe they owe the people who bought their books a refund then. I doubt they had a change of mind because of something they read in the Bible as an adult. I think the whole "skirts are more modest" was just for the show, to sell books, and to appear more moral than others who wore "worldly" pants. They never would come right out and say why pants were so bad though. They kept implying things or letting the audience fill in the blank. Now years have gone by, things have happened, and there's no longer the need to keep up that show. So I guess they think now's the time to look like you "fit in" with the public so they'll stay interested.

      Delete
    5. @3:34 get over it. They don't owe anyone a refund, they were minor children when they wrote the book. Do you still dress like you did at 14 or 15? Life is a learning experience try not to get stuck.

      Delete
    6. Jana is probably tired of helping raise those siblings too and wants out lol

      Delete
    7. 7:17 Well, then they should stop the sale of the book if it's still in print and available to buy. If it is not longer representative of their beliefs, that would be the right thing to do. Making money off of it isn't right.

      Delete
    8. 9:31, people can choose whether or not they want to buy the book, knowing that the girls no longer do what they wrote.

  30. Why don't the Duggar parents or the adult children owe us a statement about wearing pants? They certainly made statements publicly about NOT wearing pants and why they didn't wear them. I think it's just fair to state what beliefs/practices have changed and why they have changed. The only ones we heard from are Jinger and Jill.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with you 4:16. Not only did they make public statements about not wearing pants, they profited off the idea from every book and paid seminar they held, not to mention on the TV show. We were given the message many times that this was a group decision, not just Jim Bob's or Michelle's rules. The girls stood in their room next to their clothes rack and said they wore skirts, period. If there's been a change to this thinking, they should explain why. It's not fair to the teenage girls who have followed them for years to get the "skirts only, skirts are what's modest" message and then to see them in pants and shorts. How is a young girl or teen supposed to comprehend that? They can't. We can't!

      Delete
    2. Naw....I'm tired of "statements" from the Duggars. They made a big deal of Jinger wearing pants, tears were shed, etc. I just hope this means Jana is assering herself a bit.

      Delete
    3. They don't even have a show anymore. They don't owe statements to anyone.

      Delete
    4. It's no secret that this family is facing a horrifying situation with their eldest son. I doubt they have the inclination to worry about what the public thinks about their wardrobe choices. I suspect many of the adult siblings are trying to distance themselves from what's happening and I can't blame them.

      Delete
    5. That ship has sailed. The show is over, the time for statements is over. Or do you expect they have to make statements every time they do something differently for the rest of their lives?

      Delete
    6. They love making statements about their son, asking for prayers and support. But they won't explain pants.

      Delete
    7. You know, I wouldn't particularly care at all what they wore or didn't wear (as long as all the private areas were covered) EXCEPT for the fact that they dragged God and Christianity into this. They set themselves up as standards of Christianity and modesty with their books, their paid seminars, their paid interviews, their paid exclusives, and their "reality" TV show-with discussion after discussion for years of their "convictions". Having been a Bible-reading, Church-going Christian since I was 18 (35 years), I can tell you with all certainty that when God convicts you of something you're doing/wearing/saying (or an attitude you need to change), you're not going to change your mind about it at any point later because it's offensive to God. When people teach you religious rules to follow, it's not a conviction, it's a rule that creates a "better than them because we don't" pride issue (no matter how softly and sweetly you say it or how humble you try to look while you say it). Convictions don't change because God doesn't change His mind; He's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Frankly, I think if anything, the girls are victims of bad teaching (religious rules). My issue is they will not publicly be honest about that. They're unwilling to say that because they don't want to make their parents look bad or they're afraid /don't want to make them mad (one or both). So instead, they just make all Christians look like hypocrites to the world because they made themselves a high-profile "Christian family" with a bunch of well-publicized rules that they're now publicly breaking. How is that Christ-honoring behavior? Yes, public statements are in fact, in order.

      Delete
    8. This family needs to retire from the public eye. No statement needed. The adult Duggar offspring mostly seem to be moving on and carving out a different lifestyle for themselves that doesn't include being on social media or TV.

      Delete
    9. @8:09 I don't know why the adult siblings would distance themselves at this point. He's supposed to be innocent til proven guilty so unless they know something, they should have no Duggar reason to turn their backs on him. They're supposed to stick together in love, because isn't that the Biblical way?

    10. @9:01 Some are moving away from being on media as much as they were before. But some won't give it up and are even increasing it for some reason. How long can you ride on that fame train?

    11. Anon 2:23. There's no reason to suppose Josh's siblings have "turned their backs" on him, but I don't see why they should say ANYTHING publicly regarding the matter prior to his upcoming trial. His track record doesn't lead me to think he's innocent and the evidence against him is overwhelming.

    12. @4:13 People can and do change their religious convictions, because they change their views on the Bible. That's nothing unusual.

    13. @6:24 That IS unusual. The Bible is supposed to be God's word and that is final, if you are a follower. There are not supposed to be gray areas that you change your mind about later.

    14. @Sept. 4, 4:13 Great analysis. I wish more people realized the things you wrote. When this family is held up by others as great examples of Christian behavior, I wish those people could read what you wrote. Thank you.

  31. No wonder there is such a huge political divide in our country. Look how divided we are about skirts vs pants. Why, we put the vaccine vs no vaccine argument to shame.

  32. It was the Duggar family themselves who made pants vs skirts a big, important issue; not the general public.

    1. I've followed the blog for years and never Jana in pants !

  36. II believe this is the first time Jana has worn pants without those silly dresses/skirts over them and photographed it. One's convictions and beliefs don't suddenly change when you don't have a television show in order to peddle them.

    1. I agree! I know she keeps busy with home and garden projects, but it would be really good for her to find a way to monetize her skills. Her parents aren't going to be around forever, and I think it would be a big boost for her to gain some independence.
