  2. Jed & Katey's wedding ceremony was the most beautiful and unique wedding, not only of all the Duggars, but of any wedding ceremony I have ever seen! They truly did keep the focus on Christ. I had tears in my eyes as I watched this beautiful beginning of their lives together. If they keep Christ at the center of their marriage, they will have a wonderful life and marriage. May God truly bless Jed, Katey, and any children they have in the future.

    1. It was VERY pretty, but I am not sure it was the most beautiful ever. First of all, every wedding couple believes that their wedding was the best ever. Secondly, again, while it was pretty, there were other Duggars who also had beautiful weddings. And we not even yet seen Claire and Justin's.
It was beautiful and unique. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding was beautiful and unique, too. More recently, Princess Beatrice's wedding was also very unique, with the bride wearing the fringe tiara and a recycled dress from the Queen. While we didn't see the wedding itself, the pictures showed a true uniqueness among royal weddings and understate elegance. Again, most weddings are the most beautiful to the bride and groom themselves. They are generally put on the way they want it to be.
Again, I say congratulations and best wishes. It was beautiful.

    3. It's NOT a competition. The couples have the wedding that suits them. I don't see one wedding as being "better" than the other weddings.

    4. She is allowed to say it's the most beautiful wedding she's ever seen. You can have a superlative without it being a competition. This is her opinion, and she's allowed to have it.

    4. Anon 3:23. Considering the Duggar record on having babies you don't need an ability to predict fertility. lol

    5. Well, yes they are like clock work. The wedding was beautiful. I loved her and Jinger's dress the most

  4. What a lovely ceremony! Sending Katey & Jed love and prayers for a marriage blessed by God all throughout their lives. It takes three to make a marriage work: God, Husband, Wife. Without God, it isn't a marriage.

    1. My husband isn’t going to be happy when I tell him our 27 year “union” isn’t a “marriage”. As an atheist I understand your opinion but respectfully disagree.

      Delete
    2. I agree it was a lovely wedding. However, there are countless couples with long-lasting marriages who are not Christians or even believe in God. Their marriages WORK and are successful.

      Delete
    3. My husband and I have been happily married for 31 years. Neither of us belong to any church or practice a faith. Your statement is an opinion only.

      Delete
    4. When you make statement like "Without God it isn't a marriage" and you don't preface it with "This is only my personal belief, but.." you end up sounding like you're trying to be morally superior, and I know that's not what Christians want to do, right?

      Delete
    5. God pretty much invented marriage so of course it should be about Him. I know plenty of non Christians who married but it's different when a couple puts God 1st

      Delete
    6. Anonymous 8:51 & 8:39

Since God is the Author and Creator of existence, it is through Him that we have the understanding of "marriage." Marriage can only be interpreted through His translation. Therefore, it is not simply my "opinion" when I factually state that the only valid marriage is the one that occurs between a man and a woman, in God's holy matrimony. You can disagree, but truth is objective, not subjective.

    7. I believe in God. My husband is An atheïst. We are married for 22 years now and very happy together. We have a better marriage then some Christian couples i know.....we respect eachother.

    8. The laws of our land state that you don't need those 3 in a marriage, only 2 will suffice.

    9. Nevah, those are your beliefs. They are not everyone else's beliefs or facts for everyone because you believe them. Bear in mind that there are other religions and beliefs among the readers here.

    10. @4:41 Really? How are those marriages any different?

Exactly. Thank you for your courageous faith!

~Anyone who still doubts that only God can sanction marriage~

"Can" someone have a piece of paper that states that they are "legally married."

      *Yes*

But man-made laws are not higher than God's laws. Nothing commanded by humans can overpower God.

"Should" anyone assume that a marriage is valid without the Author and Creator of marriages approval?

      *Never*

As a Christian, we are commanded by God to be either "hot" or "cold", meaning we either fully believe what God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit taught us throughout the course of human history (before and after the Bible was incorporated into book form), or we do not. We either believe Him completely, or we don't. There is no in-between. You can't pick out what you want to believe from Christianity, then disregard the rest. I 100% believe what God has said and done is true. Not only does my faith encourage my belief, but the tangible evidence He has given us to confirm His divinity as well. There is only One God, all others are false prophets.

      Delete
    13. @1:08 Those are your personal beliefs in your own religion. They do not negate other people's marriage certificates or their beliefs.

      Delete
    14. Your husband might be thrilled to hear that, LOL

      Delete
    15. Anon 1:08. Cool your jets. Being a Christian doesn't entitle you to crush everyone who doesn't believe as you do underfoot and claim their marriage is not valid in your eyes. I don't care what you believe but others are allowed to have personal beliefs that don't match yours.

  6. I just watched the full ceremony and it was all so beautiful! Katey is absolutely gorgeous and I loved her dress, as well as all the colors of the bridesmaid dresses and all the pretty flowers. Jed looked so handsome and I loved seeing the look on his face as she walked down the aisle. I don't know when I've seen a couple look happier or more in love. You can just feel their joy in the tender way they looked at each other. It was such a perfect setting for the beginning of their life together. I wish Jed & Katey every happiness and God's blessing upon their marriage.

    4. How is any of us supposed to know that? Even Lily and Ellie? All they did was share the video

    5. I think it was very kind of Austin to pat her hand to give her a little emotional support as they walked down the aisle. She sat during the service, it seemed, so she is probably unwell. I am sure they were happy that she was able to attend.

    6. That bridesmaid appeared to be pregnant, and she sat in a chair at the front instead of standing with the other bridesmaids. I felt for her, but good for her for doing her best to participate. I also noticed that Austin patted her hand as they were walking, like he was comforting/encouraging her.

  19. Beautiful wedding. I loved their vows and I loved that they had communion together.

    ReplyDelete

    1. There was too much promising to submit in the vows. Do Baptists routinely use Saltines for communion?

      Delete
    2. Some religions would never use leavened bread for communion. If those were Saltines, they would be against what other religions believe. Also, some religions do not want you to chew the communion wafer, so they did two things differently at this wedding, whether they meant to or not.

      Delete
    3. I'm Baptist and we use Matzo crackers which are not leavened for communion along with grape juice.

      Delete
    4. I don't know what that is they break apart and eat. But they did the order of communion backwards. You take the host (wafer) first and then drink the wine (grape juice). "This is my body, this is my blood," not the other way around. Jed drank first and ate whatever later. Is that the way Baptists do communion?

      Delete
    5. 8:23, not any Baptist church I've ever been in. It's unleavened bread then juice, same as in the Bible.

      Delete
    6. Really ??!! Instead of wishing this couple congratulations on a beautiful ceremony and best wishes for a happy marriage you had to criticize the way they celebrated their communion. Not every denomination celebrates it exactly the same. The important thing is they chose to start their new life together by honouring Jesus in the sharing of the Eucharist.

      Delete
    7. So Jed didn't know how to do communion?

    1. Agree, it was a nice wedding, Katey was beautiful! It seems when daughters marry into the Duggar name, their Dads are not cheap, they provide guests with a nice venue (not s parking lot) real food, instead of one snack and its a real celebration and party. Kendra/Joe's wedding and reception, food, too, was really nice, as well as Claire/Justin, Lauren/Josiah, Abbie and John. Easy to see who foots the bill, the daughter in laws Dads make it super nice, JB just doesn't care and it shows and he is the wealthiest. Funny! Loved the videos, will we see Justin and Claire's? I wish we could've met these new additions and enjoyed their weddings, thx ped.

  40. Since they shared so few photos from their wedding I was surprised they shared a full video. Meanwhile Claire has shared dozens of pictures. Maybe there wasn’t a video for hers and I think that’s totally fine. I loved the picture with all 20 siblings (counting Tyler who they truly treat as their sibling, as they should) , I’m surprised we never saw something from Jed’s waiting. No family photos or sibling photos, or even wedding party photos, you kinda get to see them posing with the groups in the video, but we didn’t get still shots. I feel like photos are way less personal than actually sharing your vows etc with the world.

Side note: Jordyn was in the grouping with the other bridesmaids, but not the grouping with the whole bridal party including groomsmen, was she in the wedding or not? Why was Johannah’s bridesmaid dress white? The Duggar sisters (Jinger, Jordyn, and Johannah had the most boring color dresses)

    ReplyDelete

    1. Jed's wedding.. They did not share because they did not want to.
Who cares is Jordyn was in the wedding party or not? Don't you think they had enough attendants.

And the color of the dresses? Maybe the Duggar girls like the color of their dresses.

    2. Emily- That was quite a critique! Not sure why you care so much about the details of this couple's wedding. The only people they need to impress are themselves, not strangers on an internet forum.
