Father's Day 2021

Happy Father's Day to the Duggar dads, as well as all the other fathers out there. When we first started our blog, there was only one dad in the Duggar family (Jim Bob), but now there are nine. How did you celebrate today?

  1. Happy Father's Day Ellie to your husband. We celebrated with church and I made a steak dinner for my husband.

  2. That's Grace but HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL DUGGAR DADS!

  3. We celebrated my husband by letting him decide what he did or didn't want to for Father's Day. LOL He prefers a quiet laid-back day, with a good pecan pie, and some Thai. Check, check, and check. :)

  8. Lily & Ellie. Almost 10, is there something Iv missed ? Do we have another pregnancy in the pipeline ? I don’t come from a big family, I’m an only child, as was my husband. I only have 2 beautiful children myself but I can’t think of anything more wonderful than a houseful of people sharing special occasions. I don’t have my dad anymore but I always have special memories of him on Father’s Day. To all the blog readers, make the most of your dads they are very precious & deserve to know it.

    1. No, there are 9 dads, so it's almost 10. I guess to round up the number.

    2. Almost 10 meaning - Jim Bob, Josh, John-David, Joseph & Josiah Duggar, and Derrick Dillard (Jill), Ben Seewald (Jessa), Jeremy Vuolo (Jinger) & Austin Forsyth (Joy-Anna).

    1. I'd say it's a given. I think Justin will be a father by Christmas.

    2. I'm 100% sure Justin and Jed will be dads too as well. And who knows maybe Jana will make someone a father too :).

    3. @1:32 If not already, technically.

  10. Exactly right @ 7:09. My Daddy has been gone since 2007. Still miss him.

  12. I love how happy John is since meeting and marrying Abbie. And now a dad! This is a really cute pic of him and Grace. Eileen

  13. I wish you'd do a rundown of what exactly all these Duggar Dads are doing for work. Not "he's got a pilot's license and he's got a realtor's license," but EXACTLY what they are doing. There is TOO much general info and MIS-info floating around out there! You could set the record straight. Also with the other grown kids, like Jana. What are they doing?

    1. Agreed. Do any of them have jobs that don’t involve a family business or homemaking?

    2. Why do we HAVE to know?

    3. Being self-employed myself, as well as my husband, and both of us having grown up being a part of family businesses, they could be earning money from a lot streams of income. That is hard to comprehend for thsoe who believe that the only way to earn money is through salaried employment or one source of income. They are very much in the public eye and may not want to put it all out there. We hope that anything they may be doing that is illegal or unlawful will come out in due time. Let's hope that is not the case. Otherwise, this country was founded on free enterprise and people can earn legitimate income the way they see fit. I see that as a private matter.

    4. Not going to happen. The Bates freely discuss what everyone does to earn their living, the Duggars just DON'T.

    5. @8:03 Happy Father's day to the dads in your life and I won't ask what they do for work.

      Delete
    6. @1:21 After this Josh fiasco and enormous legal costs involved, it's a safe bet that many of them are going to have to possibly consider a regular job in the future to make ends meet, especially if the case is dragged out for months. I think their show is done.

      Delete
    7. I never could understand why the Duggar kids' employment was always so hush-hush. Are they ashamed of what they do? Do they not want to admit that TV fame allowed them to have jobs that only involve dabbling at things in spare time? If they were doing good hard honest 40-hour or more a week work, then why not show us? Austin is the only one whose work I've seen proof of. He's always got some house under construction. Derick's work has visible too and I hope he keeps up his wish to help the underserved and underprivileged. But the rest of the Duggar boys? A used car lot supports multiple families? There's that much "real estate" or "flying" that pays? What happened to all the LLC's they formed, especially Anna and Jana? Who knows.

      Delete
    8. The real mystery to me is John David! If he is still a constable, that is a non-paying job. And having a pilot's license is not a paying job either, unless maybe the other family members pay him to fly them places? As far as I know, John David is not involved in real estate, construction or selling used cars like his brothers. It would be interesting to see a post on what he does to support himself and his family.

      Delete
    9. @8:09 They've bought up all the good real estate deals they could find in the area so at least Jim Bob is set for a long time. I don't know what happened to their planned RV park though. That was supposed to be the big new venture years ago. Still in the works? But yeah, someone is paying those legal bills for Josh, and it's not cheap. Someone's also supporting Anna and the kids.

      Delete
    10. @2:26PM, since when is a constable a non paying job, unless he actually said he was volunteering and thats just short term like when they did volunteered as fire fighters for a short while years ago as showed on their TV program but we've been told that he's just a regular constable not a volunteer so he has a regular wage, and Abbie has stated that she's going back to nursing so no worries then, they can look after themselves and support their families like most responsible adults.

      Delete
    11. @1:45 The constable job he's had is non-paying. That's been discussed many times. You get elected to the position and that's it. Now what's in doubt is whether or not he's working as a part-time police officer in Tontitown, without ever having been through police academy training. If he is getting paid for that, it can't be much, not like the full-time, fully-trained police officers.

      Delete
    12. anon 1:45. The constable office John was elected to was a non-paying office. He does not receive any salary for any duties he might perform. As for any other job he might have, they have never mentioned it. Abbie has never mentioned that she has gone back to work as a nurse since her marriage. If need be she is capable of supporting the family.

    13. The 2018 annual salary of elected constables in Washington County Arkansas was $7.50 each. In other words, there is "no" salary.

  14. Happy Father's Day to everyone except Josh Duggar! Josh's crimes against minor children don't make him a good dad, imo. He has jeopardized being a part if their lives out of his own selfishness.

    1. I hope this matter with Josh is settled next month instead of being delayed as his lawyers want. I see no point in buying time for him. He should face the consequences now.

    2. 8:20AM: I think it's sickness rather than selfishness. It's a mental illness that can't be easily fixed. He's just wired wrong.

      Delete
    3. Agreed. If he claims in court that he didn't do this, then who is going to get the blame? It's nearly impossible to partition a computer remotely without the owner's knowledge and access what was accessed.

    6. 10:17, more likely his brain has been rewired because of his sin.

      Delete
    7. Anon 11:22. Exactly. He has a team of 3 lawyers so no expense is being spared, but I don't see what sort of defense they can mount. I pity the couple that took Josh in as there will be delays in the trial because they want to put off the reckoning as long as they can.

    8. The fact that the Duggar family is all about marriage, children and family values is what makes Josh's actions so destructive to his own family and all of the Duggars. Their image and brand have been damaged, and people have lost interest in their efforts to portray a "godly" life anymore. I would like to see Josh plead guilty and accept his punishment, and avoid the unwanted attention of a trial.

      Delete
    9. @11:22 Yep. I talked to a cyber-security person who said that doing that to a computer without having the computer physically in front of you was "spy-level stuff, like CIA level." In other words, not likely. Being on the dark web is a whole other issue, once the computer was set up for that. Who did that to Josh's computer if not Josh? The $64,000 question.

    10. Pedophilia isn't a mental illness any more than murder is.

    11. 10:17, pornography actually does rewire your brain!

    12. @11:30 I agree, and even if by some chance he's cleared of the current charges, that doesn't erase what he's done in the past, the things that certainly didn't uphold his family's values. The Duggar message couldn't get through to their own children, so giving them a TV show promoting their family values is now pointless. They need to privately fix what went wrong and find a better way to stop it from happening again.

      Delete
    13. @8:20 I agree with you Josh should be in jail. I had a friend who's husband did the something that Josh did and he went to jail for that.

      Delete
    14. @1:53 The federal government is doing everything they can to that end. Their child protection division is working round the clock to catch the people involved in that activity, and they're doing a pretty good job of prosecuting the ones they catch. Good, because it's a horrid crime.

      Delete
    15. 10:17AM: I meant to say @ 10:17AM that Josh has a psychiatric disorder rather than mental illness. And it's not easily cured. It's not selfishness, it's a sickness. A murderer most likely has a psychiatric disorder as well. But I do agree, he should be somewhere else where he's not around children, especially his own.

      Delete
    16. Anon 10:51. I too think that Josh has a psychiatric disorder. It's not safe for him to be around children given that issue. I keep wondering why Anna insists on staying with him.

  15. Why did Josh have to have a word when the subject was John and Grace. And, since I'm not supporting any of the Duggars, I really don't care what they do for their livings.

    1. It is Fathers Day and when thinking of the Duggars in connection with this day, you can’t help but think about Josh’s family. I think people are appalled at who Josh is and genuinely concerned for his children. This blog is a good place to vent those feelings. I appreciate so much that Ellie lets us, who have followed the Duggars through the years, have this venue to process our feelings.

      Delete
    2. I'm confused why are you on this blog then?

      Delete
    3. Unfortunately Josh has cast a long shadow over the entire family and will continue to do so until his affairs are concluded with a trial to establish his guilt or innocence. That may take quite a while as his lawyers seem determined to delay proceedings.

      Delete
    4. Some people have been watching the show for many years. You can't expect them to just ignore the drama that's unfolding before them.

      Delete
    5. What happened to "innocent till proven guilty"? And " judge not lest ye be judged"?

      Delete
    6. 6:51 Josh will be judged in a court of law. He's also under house arrest, can only have visits with his kids if his wife is present, and can have no contact with other minors. The evidence is quite incriminating and it does not look good for him.

      Delete
    7. 6:51 - They have enough to hold him. If he’s innocent we’ll find out. But his track record isn’t the best.

      Delete
    8. 6:51 -- "Judge not lest ye be judged" doesn't mean what you think it means. If a person is guilty of child abuse (as a consumer of child abuse porn), then we certainly SHOULD call out and judge that behavior. Josh hasn't been found guilty yet, and I pray that justice is done.

      Delete
    9. Anon 6:51. Josh is under house arrest because the evidence pointing to his guilt is so strong. IMO he should have stayed in jail but wasn't kept there by the judge. The couple that took him in has an enormous responsibility to keep him from committing more crimes. I hope they're up to the task.

  20. How much stronger it would have been if TLC and the Duggars would have continued and allowed us all to learn from them how to deal with the problems. Reality is, we all make mistakes. How we learn and grow from them is what matters in the end.
