Gideon and Evelyn

Gideon Forsyth and Evelyn Forsyth

Evelyn Mae Forsyth is three weeks old! The Forsyths are adjusting to life with two little ones, and it sounds like Gideon loves his little sister. For those who have asked, Joy and Austin plan to call their daughter Evy.

    1. I don't think any of them use the bows 24/7.

    2. I was surprised, too. In all honesty, I can't stand the big bows. At first it was cute, but then it seemed like the babies were strapped with a giant bow pretty much from birth and it got annoying. I'd just like to see the baby. I know it's not my kid, but this is my opinion.

    3. You can see a baby's face just as clearly with a bow as without one. I don't get why they're such a big deal that they garner comments every time.

    4. @12:00 Because it's ridiculous and vain to put a bow on a baby all the time. It's obviously there for your own enjoyment, not for the baby's. It's also a choking hazard. The Duggars have this thing about putting bows on all baby girls, the sooner the better. They had one on Josie while she was still fighting for her life in the NICU!

    5. It's not ridiculous, it's just a fun thing to do. It's not vain any more than putting a cute outfit on the baby is vain. Again, it's for fun. It's only a choking hazard if you do it when the baby is unsupervised. Maybe the NICU nurses put the bows on. Or maybe Michelle did it because it was the only thing she could pit on her baby. She didn't get to dress her in sweet newborn clothes for months.

    6. It takes exactly 2 seconds of turning your eyes away from a baby for them to reach for something or get into trouble. Bows are choking hazards and some babies have needlessly died from them.

    7. The chances of that happening are extremely small. They could choke on anything left on the floor, too.

    8. They are not going to choke in two seconds. That is why I used the word supervise. You ARE watching them.

  2. Baby Evy looks just like Joy Anna somewhat. She had her hair color and facial features. But Gideon looks like Austin. Like mother, like daughter and like father, like son. So cute.🙂

  4. How are they pronouncing Evy? Eh-vee or Ee-vee? Really would like to know.

    1. Probably Eh-vee, since that's how Evelyn is pronounced.

    2. Although Evelyn is pronounced Eh-ve-lyn more frequently, it can also be pronounced Ee-ve-lyn. It will be interesting to hear what they choose.

    3. I've never heard it pronounced EEvelyn except by the Brits.

  5. Evelyn is just such a nice name, and now it will be Ivy and Evy

  10. Some commenter on another post have mentionned that Evy sounds too much like Ivy. I too come from a large family, I have 10 uncles and aunts only on my paternal side, 22 cousins... and 2 of my little-cousins are named Samuel, I also have a cousin and a little-cousin that are named Andre. I don't think it matters that much when you have such a large family, because even if we're close it's not probable that it will cause any misunderstanding for the kids. Anyway, Evelyn is a beautiful name.

    1. Yep I have so many cousins like this! My dad was one of 7 and my mum was one of 6, I have two cousins called Christopher (on each side of my family), two cousins called Amy (on each side), I’m Lia, I have a cousin called Lisa, i have another cousin called Paul and a cousin called Paula (on the same side as Lisa and me), I have cousins called Carolyn and Catherine, and I have second cousins with the same name (I know there is two Nathan’s)... just a normal thing when you have 39 first cousins and 50-60 second cousins haha

    2. Oh and my niece is named Ivy, one of my cousins daughters is Edie, and another is Evie

    3. Repeat names are not taboo. It is common in some large families, especially ones given to naming children after parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc. I have 2 cousins with the same name as me, which is the same as my mother and her grandmother. My father's brother and 3 cousins were all named after their grandfather. It won't be a problem even if some of the cousins have the same name.

  11. People have got to be kidding about her looking like Joy. The baby is the spitting image of her father. Just look at her features

    3. 12:33, no he doesn’t he’s literally smiling🙄 other pictures were posted too, just not on the blog and he clearly looks happy

    4. I don’t think Gideon looks stressed. I think he looks so excited.

    5. It's hard for a toddler to have to share his mom and dad. I hope everyone is not insisting he's "excited." He'd probably be excited to have Evy go back inside!

    6. Looks like a smile on his face to me!

    7. Sure looks delighted to me. Not every child dislikes a new brother or sister, 11:02.

    8. They have the rest of their lives and very many stages ("seasons of life") to decide if they like each other or not. You never know what can happen between siblings, or when.

  12. I ❣️ the picture of Gideon & Evy. Together I know they will be close as they get older. The fans and I really enjoyed the announcement & also the gender reveal party on this season. Hopefully the birth will be on counting on next season. Natasha b

  14. Gideon is so full of joy! His smile is contagious. On another note, Lily and Ellie, when it's time to change the header I hope you can get an updated photo of James. He still looks like a kid in this photo and now in other posts he is looking like a young man with a beard and all. His picture especially needs updating. Another one that has grown up a lot since the header photo is Justin.
