Jason and James Serve in TN

Last Tuesday, Nashville and Middle Tennessee were hit with a destructive tornado system that killed at least 24 and caused widespread devastation. Following the storm, Jason Duggar and James Duggar and a group from MEDIC CORPS, which included Lawson Bates and Nathan Bates, headed to Putnam County to serve. Using heavy equipment, the crew has been hard at work doing cleanup and recovery. In addition, they have also helped homeowners locate pets and important documents.

  1. MO- God Bless the helpers assisting in the clean-up in Tennessee. So many people were effected by the destruction from the tornados. Displaced animals are also a result of this tragedy. It does my heart good to see wonderful people coming together for the good of all these communities, our President too. Thoughts and Prayers go out to all of you. :o(

  3. All of the Duggar children are AMAZING they were taught right people can learn alot from them

  4. Which one of those young men has the medical training that the organization uses in its title and therefore infers they have? After all, the word "Medic" is first and foremost.

    1. Go and read their website. They are made up of people with a variety of backgrounds helpful in disasters, and the medical professionals are only one facet of their organization.

    2. What are the other facets? I have never seen them traveling with a doctor.

    3. I hope that injured people don't seek out Medic Corps and then find there are no doctors with them! It is a bit confusing.

    4. 12:40, the website literally tells you. Check it out.

    5. What difference does it make? You don't have to be a doctor in order to help your fellow man.

    6. They are not the leaders of the organization. Not all of the helpers have medical training, but most of the Duggar kids have gone to that retreat and learned basic first aid training and skills. In situations like this, you need some people who have first aid skills since the hospitals get so full. Our pastor went to one of the Nashville hospitals the day of the tornado to see some church members who were in a very bad vehicle accident. He said that there were injured people everywhere waiting to be treated. The Duggars and Bates were helping with downed trees and searching for missing people. You don’t have to have medical experience to do that.

    7. Maybe it's time for them to drop the word Medic from their organization, since they only seem to be doing clean-up work after disasters.

    8. I think the name of this group is misleading. They are NOT a group of medical professionals. It's nice that they want to help victims of disasters but leading people to think they're all doctors or nurses is a bad idea.

    9. 11:19, read the website. They have medical professionals working with their group.

    10. Sheesh people it's like no good deed goes unpunished! If someone, anyone went to a disaster area to do anything to help it's still a blessing to the folks who have lost everything including love ones in these disaster areas. Let's encourage one another to do these types of things for hurting people. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.🙏

    11. @7:46 That's not always true. Disasters are sometimes opportunities for those whose intentions are not completely honorable. Not saying that's the case here, but it certainly happens.

  7. That's truly wonderful what the Duggars, Bates and Medic Corps is doing to help these poor tornado victims. It's so important for each of us to show love and compassion to our neighbor to the extent we can.

    1. It's one thing to show love and compassion and to help our neighbors and community...it's a whole other thing to brag about it (or allow it to be posted) so everyone knows we're helping. Motive is everything.

  8. That is wonderful that they have gone to offer help and to spend some time with friends. That poor area was hit with a 3 and I'd bet they need all the help they can get. Let us all send prayers that way to the people there and to the safety of the helpers and rescuers as they do their work. Amen.

  9. It's nice they went to help out. That must be close to where the Bates family lives.

  13. I wonder if they're ready to go to communities hard hit by COVID-19 and help transport patients or deliver supplies.

    1. If people keep crazy-buying, there will be no supplies to deliver!

    2. 8:14, these haven’t become that drastic in America. If you live here you should be awear if that. Stop being dramatic

      Delete
    3. Not a good idea. They are not trained to transport patients and not get infected themselves.

      Delete
    4. 7:22, I don't think you actually know every single thing they are and are not trained to do.

    5. @1:20 It is already happening in New York state. There's a containment area and the National Guard was called out this week to help. I don't suppose the Duggars would have that level of training since none of them ever joined the military. They sure like to show up at disasters, though.

  14. I do not know anything about this group but I'm sure it has people of different skill levels and each is sent in the direction to provide the help that is needed in their field the doctors/nurses, ground labor, tree climbers/cutters ect. During disasters any help is welcome even if its just to be there to listen and console someone.

    1. Then call yourselves the Ground Labor Corps or the Tree Cutting Corps, not the Medical Corps.

    2. But their organization includes medical professionals AND maybe you didn't realize that MEDIC is actually an acronym.
