Josiah Duggar and Lauren Duggar
Weeks before Bella Duggar joined the family
Just six days after the arrival of Joseph and Kendra Duggar's baby girl, Addison Duggar, Josiah and Lauren Duggar welcomed a baby girl of their own. Bella Milagro Duggar was born on Friday, November 8th, 2019, at 4:24pm. She weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and measured 18.5 inches long. Photos of the new addition can be found on the TLC website.

Congratulations, Josiah and Lauren!!!!! Welcome, to the world, Bella!!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful. Her name is pretty and so meaningful !! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl. I LOVE her name.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new little one! God Bless and have fun!! ❤️
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much of that "long and difficult" labor she had to endure at home? She's obviously in a hosp. in the pictures. Wonder if she ended up having a c-section?
ReplyDeleteIf she had a C-section they most likely would have said so.
DeleteI think she was at the hospital most of the time. Your first delivery is typically your longest, and for all we know by ‘difficult’ they might just mean that she was pushing for quite a while.
DeleteAnon 3.36. Personally I’m glad she went to a hospital, I thought she would as this baby has been extra special to this couple, being a rainbow baby. What makes you think she spent time at home & maybe ended up with a C section ? It’s possible judging by the 2 cannula’s in the picture I saw on line, she possibly had an epidural & maybe oxytocin to speed up contraction’s. If she did have a caesarean due to delivery issues, like mum or baby getting tired, then hopefully she was already at the hospital & this was the safest course of action. I’m sure when they release more information about the birth we will discover that Lauren was booked into hospital in advance, I would be surprised if this young woman would have ever entertained a home delivery after what happened with her first child & the fact this baby was so desperately wanted, both her & Josiah would take no chances with their precious baby girl.
DeleteI hope she did not try it at home! I know many women opt for this, but some Duggar girls have very bad experiences.
DeleteMaybe she just wanted a hospital birth just like Kendra did. Nothing wrong with that.
DeleteEven for people who expect to go to the hospital at some point, it's recommended to stay at home for most of labor. Home is a more relaxing and peaceful place to let labor unfold, which is key for making progress. Most hospitals won't even admit you until you're halfway dilated. It's safest to stay home a bit longer yet, because it's very common for labor to stall due to bright lights, the presence of strangers, or cervical exams, all of which one typically has to endure at a hospital. The later you go in, the less likely labor is to stall and tempt staff to try risky interventions such as Pitocin, which often cascades into an epidural and C-section as well.
DeletePerhaps she made the wise choice and went to the hospital for labor and delivery.
DeleteI'm sure if she had a c-section they would have mentioned it.
DeleteJulia K you speak like hardcore home birther. I have had four children in the hospital without a c section epidural helps you to dilate much faster. It doesn’t lead to a c section . I am part of a church where many people homebirth. Quite a few in the church have needed to call an ambulance.
DeleteI feel safest in a hospital and so does my husband.
Julia K. I completely agree with you, it is better to stay at home as long as you can, however some mums are very anxious & need to be in hospital earlier as it calms their anxiety & stops their blood pressure rising. Also this baby was a little over a week early & Lauren May have panicked (when you think how difficult things have been for her since she miscarried, this would not surprise me). She maybe wanted to go to the hospital immediately just to put her mind at rest & when staff saw she was anxious she may have just been kept in for a little monitoring, just so she didn’t get even more stressed, which would not have been good for her or baby.
DeleteJulia K. I agree. I have had 6 children. I had an epidural with the first two. It slowed things down alot. My other 4 were natural births. I have a high pain tolerance. I stay home most of labor. I do like giving birth in a hospital. With my last baby, I was fully dilated when I got to the hospital. He was born minutes later. I have had that happen twice. I've also went to the hospital and walked around for hours until the baby was born. It's personally better staying home and laboring then walking countless hours. I was too dilated to go home but not enough to have a baby.
DeleteI like doing what is comfortable.
Anon 9.18, 5.57. Ladies I wonder if either of you could explain to me why so many women on this blog do not have a good word to say about hospital births. I find it very odd as in the UK home births are still very unusual, & extremely rare in the case of a first time mum. I I agree the longer you can stay at home & be ambulatory the better, however there are many instances where you should go to hospital immediately, & some of the comments on here seem to frown upon that. If a young mum is anxious (as I imagine Lauren was due to the previous miscarriage & the fact Bella was about 9 days early)) she did totally the right thing If she needed to go to hospital for her own peace of mind. I would definitely advocate for an experienced mum to stay at home till their contractions are quite established & if they feel safe doing so as they will have a good idea how their body behaves during labour, & they may have young children they don’t want to leave too soon. But I am very keen to know why so many people feel interventions like epidurals (which can be very good not just for pain relief, but also to lower blood pressure on mums where it is elevated), C. Sections, & episiotomies are done way too routinely. I find it hard to believe these interventions are done over zealously by medical professionals, as I know in my many years of experience they are undertaken with only the welfare of the mother & baby paramount & never undertaken lightly. Please if any of you have time I would be very keen to get your take on why so many people on here dislike hospital births.
DeleteLauren seems a bit fragile and anxious so for her going to the hospital when labor started and staying there would be a good idea. I guess we'll just have to wait to hear the details....congrats to Lauren and So, she is beautiful looks like her mama.
DeleteFuzzyferet I think homebirths have been rediscovered here in the US. In the 60's and early 70's the hippies were all about natural home birth....no drugs not even IV fluids. Then in the 80's water births became popular, some hospitals even installed "birthing" tubs and midwives were allowed hospital privileges (I'm from Oregon, midwives are licensed in my state). As we moved into the 90's people and insurance companies noticed the rate of C-sections rising, and many felt they were being done for doctors convenience not the patient or babies health and safety. Now home births are experiencing a rebirth (sorry couldn't help myself). I had my daughter in the hospital in 1980 and I'm glad we were there....her shoulders got stuck taking a relatively easy labor to a complicated delivery. I believe in doing things the safest way possible, yes bad things happen at hospitals too....most hospital birthing floors or wings work with moms to make their delivery experience how they would like it to be.
DeleteFuzzyferet, I had a hospital birth for my daughter here in Pennsylvania in 1982 and I am glad I did. She decided that she didn't want to come out. I was given a spinal and she was delivered by forceps. I couldn't hold her till the next day. When she was born I was treated like a queen. They even gave my husband and I a candlelight dinner the day before we went home. They still do the dinner in PA. Which is kind of nice. Birthing rooms were becoming big when I had my daughter, but I didn't use one.
DeleteCongratulations on your precious gift from God. She is so beautiful and I am so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteMilagro is the Spanish word for miracle. Congratulations on your precious miracle.
ReplyDeleteYes, and It's also Lauren's middle name
DeleteIt is also Lauren's middle name too.
DeleteThank you for mentioning that. I wondered where they came up with her middle name. How special and meaningful!
DeleteIt's a special name of course, but they did as other girls did as well - Mackynzie Renee (for Anna Renee). Felicity Nicole (for Jinger Nicole), Addison Renee (for Kendra Renee), now Bella Milagro (for Lauren Milagro). Lauren is 1/4 Hispanic.
DeleteActually, Whitney Bates just gave birth to a baby girl, and her name is Khloe Eileen while Whitney's niddle name is Eileen as well. People do this.
Aw, she is a cutie! So happy for them to have their rainbow baby.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new baby! I can't believe I was so close on the name. If you had read an earlier post of mine, I guessed Bailey Milagro. I thought it sounded like they were going for the alphabet, what with Asa for the miscarried. I figured this second one's first name would probably begin with B. Bella is probably an even better choice for a B name. I also guessed that they might use Lauren's middle name, Milagro, meaning miracle, since she was a rainbow baby. The two Spanish names fit together well. Good job. Healthy baby, healthy mom.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw it was Bella I thought of ur previous comment of Bailey milagro. Both names ate very sweet xx
DeleteLauren seems to be quite practical; she would not call her daughter a name that is very cute for a baby but not as fit for an adult. Like, Judge Bailey Duggar? Doctor Bailey? Bella is very smart choice. Senator Bella Duggar sounds very good.
Delete5:02, “Doctor Bailey” is actually the name of a surgeon on a very popular television show. Bailey sounds as much like an adult name as in does a child’s. If anything “Bella” sounds like an infants name, but not an adults.
Delete12:46 & 5:02 Bella is frequently used as a name for a small dog. Not trying to be rude but names are neither childish or adult....they are just names and Bella Milagro is a beautiful name, appropriate as a child or adult and quite professional if she uses both first and middle name together.
DeleteCongratulations she is perfect!
ReplyDeleteBella looks like Lauren.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She is so cute! Love the name, definitely a perfect name for the new little one. Glad everything went okay. Half way thru the Duggar Baby Boom!
ReplyDeleteBella? Not to my taste but if they like it then all is well.
ReplyDeleteYour opinion is not helpful or necessary.
DeleteThey do like it.
DeleteBella is a pretty and popular name. It doesn't matter what you think it's their choice.
DeleteCongratulations to the addition to your family. Beautiful name.
ReplyDeleteBella is absolutely beautiful! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a newborn look so much like one of their parents-she has Lauren’s eyes. She’s precious, and I love the beautiful blanket she’s swaddled in. I never thought to pack receiving blankets for my babies’ hospital pics-great planning. She’s so alert, too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Josiah & Lauren-welcome beautiful baby Bella!
Love the name!
ReplyDeleteMy dogs name is Bella.
ReplyDeleteSo is my aunt’s. It’s one of those cute names that works well for a person or puppy.
DeleteReally? Really? Other than being thoughtless and unkind, why would anyone refer to his/her dog in a baby announcement?
DeleteI know several dogs, and people, named Bella.
DeleteMy chihuahua is named Bella. But, her middle name.is Baby.@5:27 because we love our dogs, but to be honest I wondered the same thing.
DeleteCongrats on your tiny precious gift she is beautiful
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute!! And I love the name! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteMany many congratulations to this lovely young couple on the birth of their daughter. I wish them every happiness as they settle into parenthood together. Having read the announcement in the daily mail it appears from the couple themselves that Lauren suffered a long & difficult delivery, well I hope she feels well & & recovers soon. I’m sure her overwhelming love for her new daughter will soon make all the memories of the painful delivery disappear. Lauren does look exhausted in the photo after delivery, but she also looks thrilled. I’m just happy they went to the hospital & took no chances with this most special rainbow baby. She is beautiful & her name is very special. Welcome to the world little Bella Milagro. You will be extremely loved by your parents, of that I’m sure.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - she sure looks like Lauren!
ReplyDeleteShe sure has Lauren's features. She may end up with lighter hair. We'll have to wait and see. Perhaps more like Lauren's little sister Lydia, who has a similar look to Lauren but light hair. I also thought Joe's son Garrett was a blonde Joe. Joe and Kendra's new daughter Addison to me looks more like Kendra. Jim Bob and Michelle do have some nice looking children and grandchildren. It is fun to follow them.
DeleteYay! Happy for you all :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, she is Lauren's twin ! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLove her name,, beautiful miracle.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations ♥️
Congratulations Josiah and Lauren on the birth of Bella Milagro Duggar. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
Welcome to the world Bella Milagro Duggar. Blessings to you.

ReplyDeleteMilagro is Lauren's middle name
DeleteI'm glad they didn't release her name early, there's always someone who has to be negative and judgmental
DeleteSo true there, was some of my boyfriend norwegian family who was kinda negative about the name gideon when we told the name early, but now they love it and cant see him named anything else.my mother was judgemental about the name Ole and wanted me to use american names.
DeleteThere goes the header!
ReplyDeleteYou mean the header where there is already a space for her picture? 😄
DeleteThey had spaces for the new babies so it should be fine.
DeleteThere's a bunch of header editing needed now and in the next few months.
DeleteThis is my least favorite comment to frequent the blog. Do people really think they’re being clever when they say it?
Delete5:21 I'm with you....the babies will keep coming, the blog will continue.....even if every member of the family is not pictured.
DeleteCongratulations Josiah and Lauren.. welcome to the world Miss Bella!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Josiah and Lauren! Bella is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations a new baby girl!!!🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈❤🍼🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ReplyDeleteDear Josiah & Lauren Duggar, I can't believe that Bella Milagro Duggar is here. I can't wait to watch on the show for the announcement & the gender reveal party also the birth of your daughter possibly on season 11 or maybe even season 12 in 2020. congratulations. I can't believe how time has flown by. Natasha B
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to both couples!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! She is so cute, and I love that name! Don’t listen to others peoples comments about how the labor was, what matters is mom and baby are healthy, every labor is different
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Josiah and Lauren! What a cute little baby girl!!
ReplyDeleteOh wonderful news! I’m so glad everyone is healthy!! Congratulations what a blessing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Josiah & Lauren! Just wondering is Bella's middle name the same as Lauren's?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations love ya all.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to this world sweet baby girl. God chose a special family for you.
ReplyDeleteTime 10:00PM Mon 11/11/19
ReplyDeleteCongrats Josiah & Lauren Duggarville on your new baby girl.
Duggarville?
DeleteWhy not Duggerville.....there are enough of them to populate a small City 🤪
DeleteWhat a beautiful name for an adorable little girl!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lauren and Josiah, she was born a day after Zach and Whitney bates had their daughter Khloe
ReplyDeleteShe is so tiny! So cute. And beautiful name!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to them on Bella! Lovely name and she has mom's eyes
ReplyDeleteShes soooooo pretty shes got mommy's eyes, shes an angel.
ReplyDeleteShe looks just like Lauren! Congratulations! She is a bit lightweight though,I hope they are both doing fine!
ReplyDeleteThat’s still a normal weight for a newborn, she just wasn’t overly large.
DeleteBe it known this day God, has added Sunshine into your home. Please note that your Hone will never be the Same, that smell of a Newborn is so sweet. I am asking God to continue be with your Family. Such a Beautiful Baby very alert little eyes open. God Bless
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I am happy for them, I can't stop thinking about how close the name sounds to Joy's Annabelle.
But still, now it's time for happiness.
Perhaps they chose the name as a sort of tribute to Annabell.
Delete1:49AM: I was thinking the same thing. Annabell and Bella are similar.
DeleteI m so happy for tbem. I love the name...
ReplyDeleteShe looks so pale. I hope Josiah doesn't have to carry her around again.
ReplyDeleteI honestly thought of that too. I think her fairly severe weakness may have been linked not only to the physical stress She suffered but also to the emotional trauma she went through. She has great spousal and family support, so I’m sure her loving family will watch for signs of the “baby blues.”
DeleteAnon 3.22. Have some compassion, this young woman had just gone through delivery when this picture was taken. It’s clear from the image she had a difficult time, she is pale, sweaty & possibly had a post partum haemorrhage. If Josiah has to “carry her around again” as you so delicately, put it, then I’m sure he won’t mind. Lauren will need rest & support possibly for the 6 week post partum period & Josiah (as any new father) should do whatever he can to help her. Not every woman finds delivery easy like shelling peas, & is up & making dinner for a family of 10 within hours. Lauren is small framed & it was her first delivery which can often be long & difficult. Iv seen that look of pale, sweaty exhaustion so many more times than one of glowing radiance, Labour is well named, it’s just that, hard work.
DeleteCongratulations! Praise God for a healthy baby and mom.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Lauren e Joseph 💜 Bella Milagro He's adorable A beautiful name for a small miracle 💜💜 good life together with your little 💖
ReplyDeleteLauren is married to Josiah.
DeleteCongrats on your baby girl
ReplyDeleteI think it is not thoughtful towards Joy Anna and Austin and their stillborn girl Annabell to name the baby Bella.
ReplyDeleteBella is really a popular name. I sure she talk with Joy about it.
DeleteNames with "-bella" in them of just "Bella" are very popular, Isabella, Annabella, Arabella, Mirabella... Joy is not the only one who picked a name with "=bell" in it. I don't see why Lauren could not use this wonderful name for her own baby. Who knows, maybe Lauren was dreaming about naming her daughter like this her whole life, and maybe it was Joy who use it as a part of her stillborn baby.
DeleteEven if she did talk to Joy about it, what could Joy have said? No don't use that name? I think it's insensitive, too. If they're trying to do ABC names, there are a bunch more B's they could have chosen from.
DeleteI agree, it is very similar. Odd and inconsiderate choice given the circumstances.
DeleteBella is an entirely different name than Annabelle. I’m sure it’s fine, maybe even an honor.
DeleteI don't believe name "stealing" is not a crime. They probably had their names picked out or at least thought about some time ago. There are often two kids with the same or similar names in families.
DeleteSo happy for them!
ReplyDeletewow finally your dreams have come true. she is so adorable and i love the name and welcome to the world bella
ReplyDeleteSweet baby girl! She looks just like Lauren and is so alert already.
ReplyDeleteI agree! She looks very alert for a newborn.
DeleteI think both Addison and Bella look like their mommies.
DeleteCongratulations to Lauren and Josiah on your bundle of joy baby Bella.
ReplyDeleteAsa, Bella...they are totally going for an alphabet order pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteOr they just liked the name?
DeleteI really hope they spoke with Joy ahead of time about the name, Bella is just so close to Annabell
ReplyDeleteThey did not need to speak with Joy.....different name different meaning.
DeleteFeel it is too close to joy and austin daughter they lost Annabell
ReplyDeleteWill TLC be doing a birth special for the recent newborns?
ReplyDeleteBella - beautiful, Milagro. A beautiful miracle:)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say congratulations to Josiah and Lauren on the birth of their beautiful baby girl Bella Milagro what a beautiful name for beautiful little girl
ReplyDeleteShe is the most Beautiful Baby I have ever seen. Many Blessings to you all. xo
