  1. I don’t get the first episode. They’re showing joe and kendra’s Honeymoon with was last September, Josiah and lauren’s Courtship beggining which were in January, and their wedding which was in June.
It’s really confusing. Why would they show three things that happened at three different times on the same episode? They should’ve shown only joe and Kendra’s honeymoon for the premiere and aired the other 2 events in chronological order

    1. The timeline on this show makes me think TLC doesn't care any more.

      Delete
    2. The timeline is making viewers not care anymore. It is all about the money for tlc and the duggars. Why watch a honeymoon when you watched the birth of their child already.

      Delete
    3. I agree, this timeline is frustrating.

  2. So excited for the new season but is he wedding the same thing we already saw on tlc.com ?

    1. Yes it is as well as you can watch the birth of kendra and joes baby on tlc go or youtube
It is boring and confusing now.

  3. I hope sprinkled in all the stuff we already have seen is some new material!

  4. Sounds like a great start to the new season. Can't wait!! Hope this season runs for at least 8 weeks, or more!!!

    1. I have been wishing the same for the past seasons but they get more confusing boring repetitive and out of order.

    2. I agree it should last more then 8 weeks at a time for each season. Natasha B.

  5. I love watching 19 kids and Counting and Counting On, but one thing that I think Counting On should change is having the wedding at the very beginning of the season. It takes away from the excitement and the build up and makes it so you only have to watch one episode and don’t have to watch the rest the season.

  6. They should show things in order ...joe and Kendra honeymoon then the expectancy of baby Garrett...then jinger expectancy news then Lauren and Joseph courtship then the wedding they a whole year behind I get that they only come on not often but please no more reruns they need to show something we haven’t seen they going all the way to Kendra honeymoon when their baby is at least three months old now..come on duggers !!still love the series hope to see something new and not the same ole things

    1. They are loosing viewers over what you are describing. I am so tired of flashbacks and repeats of things we have saw. It is like reading a book and knowing the ending.

    2. Joe and Kendra's son, was born in June, so he is now one and half months old.

      Delete
    3. 4:41 yes but they’ll probably air his birth around September or October, making him 3 or 4 Months old then

  7. TLC: Cut the lag time between the actual events and the broadcast. I'm not interested Joe and Kendra honeymoon when they had a baby several weeks ago. That said, if the honeymoon episode had aired the week (or even a month) after their wedding I might be interested. So really, this upcoming season should be Kendra's birth story, Josiah and Lauren wedding, followed by their honeymoon, Jinger's birth story, John David's proposal and Abbie's wedding planning. As it looks like next season will be footage which is 6 months to a year old, I likely won't be watching.

    1. Not even the fastest shows can air stuff the week after it happened. 19KAC was around 3 months behind. Bringing up Bates is 4 Months behind. Counting on is 10 months behind which is a whole lot and I wish they would reduce that timeframe, but it’s very unrealistic to expect them to air stuff a week after it happens.

      Delete
    2. They aired a wedding a week after it happened! Jinger's, if I recall correctly.

      Delete
  8. I sure hope they show new stuff not the same stuff we have already seen. Maybe more or Jinger, Joy Anna, Janna, and John David

  9. Why are they showing events out of order? This is not a good TLC practice. At least they can show these old events in order.

    1. With the earlier weddings, people complained a LOT that they had to watch so much wedding preparation before TLC finally aired the wedding episode. So now they let people see it pretty quickly, and then go back and show the lead-up to the wedding later.

  10. I would like to know where Lauren & Josiah went for there honey moon I know Joseph and Kendra went to Greece and I know also she had a baby boy
I know also that Austin and joy Anna had a baby boy
I also know that Jeremy and jinger had a baby girl called felicity Nicole vuolo. So nothing new on the episode
You should say where Josiah and Laure went for their honeymoon
We know John David is in a courtship with aby
    So nothing's new
I know there must be other new stuff coming that's what I
Want to know not the usual we know that we see on the web site duggarz
Why waste time with thing that
    We see in the duggar
    Web site Already
    That we know
And why not see the new stuff
Up to date you should think
    About it before you air
The episode on TV hat we already know on the duggar web site

  11. It's always nice to see what's up with the Duggars. I just wish people would stop being critical of their having babies. Many young married couples start families right away, there's nothing wrong with that, and the Duggars are a very large family to begin with, so all these babies are kind of to be expected, in my book. I am happy for all the kids that most of them seem to have married well. I just wish Anna had not been made to suffer with her marriage. Anytime there's a new wedding, I always feel a little sad for her, remembering what a happy bride she once was.

    1. I'm not sure I've seen people being critical of them having babies. I know some are concerned with them having back to back pregnancies after c-sections. Hope that's not the case.

  12. I hope you don't censor me but I don't watch the show anymore because it is like watching paint dry. The news is old and there is only news about births, weddings and pregnancies. I was interested when the show reflected the differences in the lives of a Christian family. Now everything is a secret and nothing interesting about daily lives, faith or anything that would show non believers what living for Christ is about. Meh,I pay attention through your blog but I can't watch. It makes me sad that such a platform for Christ has been perverted to such a degree.

    1. I agree with your post. I also quit watching the show. Everything is a secret until time to gear up for a new season. Seems like it has become all about the money instead of showing a Christian life.

    2. There was a time when the Duggars said their show was going to be used as a testament to their faith. They could have stood up to TLC and put their feet down, saying we aren't doing the show any more if you can't let us be who we are and tell what we want to tell. But they wouldn't do that. They kept raking in the dough as the show got worse and further from any message. You're right not to watch it any more 12:15, although you did miss the kids explaining what kind of cheese their sister would be (eye roll). If I had a show, I'd be sure it was delivering the message I wanted to deliver. I wouldn't be any network's puppet. I'd walk away the moment the contract was up, on principle. Why haven't the Duggars? Why don't they understand what this kind of exposure is doing to their brand? I think most people watch it now to see how bizarre it can get, along with every other show on that network that runs its course.

    3. I have to agree with you. They almost never show anything church related or what they do missions wise. Everything is just too repetitive.

      Delete
    4. I'm a non-believer, but I couldn't agree more. I love watching it for the Christian stuff.

      Delete
    5. I like how Duck Dynasty did it and that was make it real clear that they were Christians and stayed on the air for a few seasons and then pulled out. They didn't make it a generational thing. Their kids were not expected to be on a reality show and then raise their kids on tv. They left a beautiful message for us to remember them by and that is faith in God, humor and love of family. They were and always will be wise people.

    6. Anonymous 3:45, I have never heard the Duggars express any of the sentiments you stated hear. This is not 19 Kids and Counting, it’s Counting On about the next generation and explores the lives of the adult children. I never heard them say they needed to “put their foot down”, I don’t think they are “just raking in the dough” nor do I think they are any ones “puppet”. If you don’t want to watch don’t watch, but why visit a fan blog and be nasty?

    7. 6:16 - The Duggars have mentioned in interviews over the years that they viewed the show as their ministry. I think they also said it during the Megyn Kelly interview in 2015 as a reason why they wanted to continue to do the show after Josh admitted he molested young girls as a teenager. Their faith was a central feature of 19 kids and understated on Counting On.

  13. Why watch the same material over and over. Also it is hard to watch something a year old when you know how it turned out. The show is getting repetitive and boring. All it is anymore is courtship marriage then babies. Show other things like their jobs and hobbies and worship.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Anon 12:15 I know how you feel. My family and friends all stopped watching it and I stopped a couple seasons back for the same reasons you mentioned. It was once a Christ centered large family living a humble Christian life and involved in Christian charity work. They showed family life that reflected modest living. But now it's bigger and better barns so to speak. Constant flying here and there, elaborate weddings and parties, vacations, men not working and somewhere in this Christ got pushed out. They should have stopped a few years back.

    1. Christ didnt get pushed out of their lives, TLC stopped showing that part of their lives

      Delete
    2. They are a Christ centered family! They work hard. They don't fly constantly. You don't know the facts.

      Delete
    3. E Perkins. Who is ultimately responsible for their own life witness of faith? TLC or the Duggars? Your logic is no different than a someone saying” so-and-so made me do it” instead of taking personal accountibility. If TLC pushed Christ out of their lives it won’t be TLC who answers for it on judgement day.

      Delete
    4. Well said @4:52. The Duggars alone are responsible for their continued participation with TLC, People, US Magazine. They are responsible for the content of their “reality” show. They are responsible for what they say and do. Not TLC.

      Delete
  15. I think TLC shows a wedding first because they are trying to draw viewers in and figure a wedding is the best way to do it. I wonder if TLC figures that most viewers don’t follow this blog as faithfully as all of us here do. So for those viewers that don’t, things will be “relatively” new. Still for all Duggar fans, those who follow this blog and those who don’t, TLC should at least put events in chronological order. It feels like TLC isn’t trying very hard - they don’t show enough episodes and what they show is confusing as far as order. Does anyone know for sure what the ratings have been for “Counting On?” - up, down, or steady. I’d like it to stay on, but I’m just one person.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think they have to pick and chose. We know the time line - but things are happening so fast- they can’t squeeze it all in. Suspect
It is why the Bates do 30 min episodes almost year round

  17. Anna should focus on her marriage and not be on the show

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anna shouldn't be on it because Josh isn't. Since she wants to stand with her husband, their place is off the air, together.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous 5:09 that is your opinion and in my opinion it is based on a lack of forgiveness toward Josh and maybe a bit of blame on Anna that he did what he did. Years have passed, they weathered their storm, they came out a bit tattered but still intact. They deserve to resume their lives be it social media, tv appearances, etc. Josh was never convicted of any crimes, yet was convicted in the court of public opinion. He made mistakes and his wife has forgiven him, he did nothing to the rest of us and we really ought to get out of their business.

      Delete
    3. What else are they going to do?

      Delete
    4. Actually Anon 6:06 I think what the poster said was not a lack of forgiveness towards Josh but using good sense. Why would you want to drag your family, with small children back on tv after their father did what he did. Why would being on a reality tv show be your option for an income at that point? There are many ways to earn a living besides selling your private life, available to you. Those children should never be subjected to what they will be subjected to by the public. It's not about Josh anymore or Anna for that matter, it's about what is best for the children in the light of the mess their father caused them. He can get a job, all of our husbands have one and a lot of us wives do too.

      Delete
    5. 6:06, I’m not the OP, and while I wouldn’t mind if Anna came back on the show if she ever chooses to, I don’t care to ever see Josh again. He made his choices and they’re going to have long term consequences. Does that mean he can’t be forgiven; no, but it also doesn’t mean that anyone wants to watch a show with him on it, knowing that he was living a double life and lying while acting so high and mighty about his marriage and his family in general. If he had come out with what all was going on, then I’d probably feel differently, but the fact of the matter is that he was caught, and if he hadn’t been he would probably still be living a double life.

    6. 9:49, very well said. Many child actors have ended up with terrible emotional problems, drug addiction and suicide. That lifestyle isn’t normal or healthy for the growing child. The adults are able to make their own decision whether to be involved in a “reality” show but the children can’t. While Derick has done some things I don’t agree with, I do applaud him for getting his children out from in front of the TLC cameras. It’s important for Anna, Josh and their children also as they work to rebuild their marriage.

  18. My parents and I couldn't wait for the season to begin. We can't wait to see the piano. We can't wait to watch the wedding, honeymoon of Josiah & Lauren. But we really can't wait to watch the surprise for their families and us. Natasha B

  19. I am curious. What season is this for Counting on. I eisw I could watch but can't afford TV. I keep up with the family through this site.

  20. I wonder if there is a clause in the TLC contract that states if viewing drops below "X" during the season, then the terms of the original contract are void and the show will be canceled without penalty to TLC (no payout to cast for early termination of contract, no lawsuits can be filed against TLC for breaking the contact, etc., or whatever, I don't know show business).

Just within the few comments here about this season, as well as comments from every season, its the same feelings from us viewers on the material being shown, pet peeve issues repeatedly expressed...and yet TLC doesn't seem to care enough to fix it, odd, I thought one of a networks goals was to keep the viewers interested, not continue to do what the viewers dislike, and dislike so much...they quit watching the show?

It is frustrating to many that the NEW season is OLD events; which could be easily rectified with less of a gap between seasons, longer seasons, no re-runs in the same short season, which would also allow for other areas of their lives to be shown (that people have repeatedly expressed an interest to see) you know, like a REAL REALity t.v. show should do, real everyday life, not just focused on one star attraction (the person/couple with an approaching special life event). A reality show with current events and and real living would be refreshing, bring back viewers who quit watching and draw new viewers as every new TLC show does.

All that aside, I look forward to watching the show and hope the ratings are good so it continues to stay on the air!

  21. They should start out the series with a recap on the year. A year in review with scenes from the weddings and pregnancies. That way those who don't see the blogs get caught up and our U.K friends and others across the pond can see what we in the U.S. has already seen. Then introduce the newer material.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I can't understand why TLC shows this out of order. The show could be so much better, why does TLC do this? Plus they only seem to want to show footage of weddings and births now. It wasn't originally begun with only that type of footage in mind. I'm disappointed we don't see the families any more. I loved to see the pre-school children in Jessa's & other's families and hear their famlies' stories.

    1. Well in past years they didn’t have kids getting married and having babies every 6 months, but that’s kind of where they’re at in life now.

  23. Producing a tv show is impossible to do in real time. Getting it into a time slot on TLC and promoting it doesn’t happen instantaneously. If you’re looking for the show to be your only source of news for the family, you will be disappointed. They are too famous. Social media exists. The show expands the storyline and makes it a more touching human experience, which is why we all fall in love with this family to start.

That being said, I completely agree thatwnhile special events such as weddings and babies are very fun and deserve their due, some more daily life and particularly a little more daily life from the big house would be welcome!

  28. A few years ago before the cancellation of 19KaC Jessa said in an interview that the Duggars "aren't a TV family; we're just a family that happens to be on TV." And further went on to say that they would be "fine" whenever the show happened to end. Has she asked the lord for forgiveness yet for her smug lies? Not a TV family, LOLololol
