Jinger's Maternity Photo Shoot

Jinger is just a few weeks away from her due date, and her baby bump is growing quickly. At 34 weeks, while she and Jeremy were in Los Angeles for meetings at The Master's Seminary, a photographer friend (@madisen.e.photography) did a maternity shoot for the Vuolos.

Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo, 34 weeks pregnant

  1. Usual Duggar maternity photo. Is anyone surprised? The woman that does the weather on my local news is pregnant. She NEVER rubs her belly or cradles her stomach. Seems the station has its standards.

    1. Is your weather lady doing a maternity photo shoot when she is on tv? Didn't think so.

    2. I'll never understand all of the negativity directed at these young ladies holding their belly bumps in pictures. I did all the time when I was pregnant! Often without even realizing it! Especially towards the end of the pregnancy when the baby gets really big. Is there a reason why people are so bothered by this? Is it considered inappropriate? I live in the upper Midwest and am a bit older than the Duggar girls but I see pregnant women do this all the time, photo shoot or not.

    3. Funny most women cradle and rub their stomach including your weather girl!

    4. It states while she and Jeremy were in Las Angeles not while Jeremy was a way. She looks beautiful

    6. Search Google images for “maternity photo shoot”. Nope, not a single woman is cradling her baby bump. Eye roll.

    7. Every maternity photo shoot I've ever seen including my daughters they cradle their belly. While normally they don't. It's just for pictures. No need to be nasty

      Delete
    8. Of course the weather person doesn't cradle or rub her belly. She's at WORK. It would be unprofessional. Why don't you ask her if she rubbed it for her maternity photos...cause I bet she did them! I'm sure she touches her belly often, as all pregnant women do.

    10. Anonymous 3:07....why does the way Jinger touches her pregnant belly bother you so? They were maternity photos ment to record the way she looks and the love for her child before it is born. Comparing maternity photos to your weather person’s tv appearances is wacky.

    11. It's not a Duggar thing, it's a very common celebrity thing. Every famous person and their dogs do maternity photoshoots.

      Delete
    12. Usual maternity photo. Has nothing to do with the Duggars. It's a typical pose. Woukd you say that about their wedding photos? Typical Duggar family wedding photo at the altar. So dumb.

      Delete
    13. It's not only the Duggars who take maternity photos of pregnant women cradling their bellies like this. And while I have read this critique about 18,000 times on this blog, I still don't understand what's so inappropriate or immodest or trashy or whatever for a pregnant woman to do that. I just don't get why this inspires such contempt and /or outrage among so many.

      Delete
    14. You're acting like this is just a Duggar pose. However, this is what photographers tell their clients to do during a maternity session.

      Delete
    15. I love when they cradle their belly. They are holding their baby. A sign of love and affection.

      Delete
    16. Because the weather lady would cradle and rub her belly while giving the daily forecast?? I bet her maternity photos would look the same.

      Delete
    17. It makes me uncomfortable to see pictures like that. Those looks and those caresses are not appropriate shared with the world online. Why is it OK for the Duggars to do this when pregnant, but not at any other time?

      Delete
    18. What a bizarre comment. This pose is extremely common in this age group for maternity photos. Jinger is behaving as a normal early-20s girl. I have no idea what this has to do with a woman at work (the weather lady you mention). When I worked while pregnant I was too busy working to pose for photos lol.

      Delete
    19. When i was with child, i ALWAYS touched me stomach. It was comforting and very natural. Thee is nothing at all wrong with that. Motherhood is the greatest gift that anyone could ever experience. The only ones who usually disagree have not had children yet.

      Delete
    20. I really don't understand why people care about this.
Cradling/rubbing ones pregnant belly is up the person holding the baby and why do others care so much?! It is her body! Leave her alone!

      Delete
    21. 11:58, why would you cradle or look adoringly at your stomach if you weren’t pregnant? They’re doing it because they have a child in them, you all need to get a grip.

      Delete
    22. EXACTLY, 11:58. You get it. This is the Duggars we're talking about. They don't go around with hands on their persons EVER...except when pregnant. It makes me uncomfortable to see, too!

      Delete
    23. Much ado about nothing!! I think she looks lovely! Look at the celebrities who bare everything for photo shoots when pregnant. Now that is disgusting!!!

      Delete
    24. 11:58 It would be strange to see any woman cradling her stomach while not pregnant. Your comment is very odd. Of course, they aren’t drawing emphasis to their body parts but to the baby. There is nothing wrong with being married and with child. Babies move around in your stomach, so touching your stomach while pregnant is perfectly normal. Looking at your child with love even while pregnant is not inappropriate!!!

      Delete
    25. I don't understand what the big deal about touching your belly is either. I'm photographer and tell my clients to do this pose every single time. It's not a Duggar thing. It's extremely typical when showing off the relationship between mother and her new bundle of joy. I'm pretty sure Jinger wouldn't be doing this if it was a picture of her giving a weather forecast, lol.

      Delete
    26. Must have never been a mom...

      Delete
    27. I'm sure your weather girl was cradling her belly when the cameras were off!

      Delete
    28. I'd rather see a momma cradling her belly than going to an abortion clinic..

      Delete
    29. Do you guys have nothing else to do than to comment on what a women show do with her on belly? Its the most beautiful thing in the world to see a pregnant women, and most of all to see her rub her belly...get a life .lol

    3. We will have to wait and see how much this baby weighs I think it will be smaller than 9 pounds.....time will tell 😀

    4. I don't think she looks big enough for a 9 pounder.

      Delete
    5. I was actually thinking she doesn't look as big as her sisters do when they are pregnant.

    6. I’m thinking within the 7-8lb range

    1. Try reading the post. It said while she and Jeremy were in California for a seminar they did a maternity shoot. There is a post on their website of more pictures. If you go to the website, you will see that Jeremy was in some of the pictures. Please read the post and check your facts before commenting.

    2. Part of Freedom of Choice means a woman has the freedom to choose where and with whom she delivers her baby. Her body, her choice.

      Delete
    3. She wil go to a hospital with a real doctor. She does not want a dramatic birth.

      Delete
    4. You're so funny, 3:59! I'll bet any ob/delivery nurse would laugh at the thought that hospital births can't be dramatic.

      Delete
    5. Home births are safe if done properly. That mainly means having a real midwife “CNM” not a “CPM”

      Delete
    6. All births are dramatic..

      Delete
    7. Having a CNM in attendance is far better than having a CPM, but even so, most homes are not equipped to handle sudden medical emergencies during birth. Valuable and time is lost waiting for EMS to arrive and transport to a hospital.

But let's say a woman decides on a home birth anyway. Why, in that case, she would choose a CPM to attend a home birth in the US is an excellent question. CPMs are not allowed in other countries. They are only legal in half the US states. Their education qualifications fall far short of CNMs. They seem to govern themselves, with little outside oversight and without the same safety standards that OB doctors and CNMs follow. If a CPM's patient has to be transported to the hospital, the CPM is not allowed to continue treatment there.

It's time for the US government to abolish the title of CPM and require all "midwives" to be CNMs. It's that way in other countries, with lower mortality rates from home births.

      Delete
    8. 12:14 you brought up some very valid points. I had no idea that CPM’s weren’t allowed in some states and not at all in other countries. Agreed, it’s past time that they be outlawed for the sake of the babies and the mothers.

      Delete
    9. CPM's could be put out of business pretty quickly if nobody hired them.

    1. It's rust? I thought it was mold and was wondering if being exposed to mold was a good thing while pregnant.

      Delete
    2. My first thought was "Are they SUPPOSED to be there?" It looks like an abandoned building site.

      Delete
    3. Because most people aren't looking at the staircase, they're looking at the beautiful young expecting mother.

      Delete
    4. Her other pics are beautiful but I don't understand either the picture in a stair case

      Delete
    5. You know what I think the rusted stairs are fitting. Motherhood can do that to you. It can wear you out just like that rusted staircase.

      Delete
    6. It looks like rust. Was it someone's idea of an artistic background? I think it looks rather dreary for something that's supposed to be such a happy occasion. Seems there would better spots in any town for baby photos than one showing decay.

      Delete
    7. My young cousins do this kind of thing for engagement or maternity photos. They like an urban edgy look even if they live in a rural area. I find it a bit silly but it's not hurting anyone.

    11. Don't know which it is but as a side note being exposed to mold is never a good thing... my little brother has been sick for over a year from mold found in our house :(

      Delete
    12. Well good thing she doesn't appear to be ingesting it or harvesting mold in her house...seriously people.

      Delete
    13. It's fancy to stand under rusty stairs? Imagine how much better that picture would have been in a park or at a rose garden......

      Delete
    14. The photographer was using the stairs to draw the eye to her bump. However, some easy photo editing with easily obtainable freeware, could have been used to remove the rust and black from the stairs. I would also remove the buildings in the distance.

    4. I don’t think aesthetic is a tangible thing. “I think I’ll go clean the aesthetic off the steps”. Yes it’s rust. I don’t think it detracts from the picture though. My niece had some amazing bridal pictures taken in an old warehouse.

    2. Juliet it goes with the territory of posting all your private life details for the public to see. When you do that you have to take the negative with the positive. That's why people have private sites instead of public sites. No one is so special that they are off limits to criticism. That's life and if it bothered her that much she would live a private life.

    3. I think the Duggars have learned over many many years on TV to take the bad with the good. If they didn’t want attention they could opt to not participate as cast on a reality tv show. My guess is they find the benefits outweigh the negatives. Don’t you think?

  28. It is odd that girls who go around dressing modestly and talking so much about modest dress revert to tight clothing and body touching when pregnant. It's the contrast of the two behaviours that's so glaringly obvious.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. (1) Her dress is not tight, other than the obvious baby belly because she's very pregnant. Would you rather she wear a tent?
      (2) Your comment about "body touching" is odd. Other than the obvious, there are many parts of the body that are perfectly normal to touch ("drawing attention to", in your mindset). You can't make the case that she shouldn't be touching her baby belly because it draws attention to it, because a baby belly does that all by itself, constantly!
