  1. Happy birthday! God bless you 💜

  2. What a nice photo of them, and Happy Birthday to Derick. I hope they are still happily married; they have been through quite a lot of challenges together. I never thought taking a wife and baby into the dangers of Central America was a good idea, and Jill has endured two difficult childbirths. I still give Derick a lot of credit for standing up against the falsehood of transgenderism, however. I wish Derick and Jill many blessings and graces from God.

    1. You and he are entitled to an opinion about GLBT, but there’s nothing for you to stand up against. No one is expecting you to transition to anything else. Just having respect for other people, regardless of their gender or sexuality- and without the expectation of repentance - would do nicely.

      Delete
    2. If you knew transgenders personally or if you had one in your family, you'd have the sensitivity to understand that there is no falsehood, as you call it, to their lives. If you're going to make a statement like that, please say "but this is only my personal opinion, based solely on my personal beliefs." Please don't make statements like that as if they were medical or psychological facts.

    3. I can only speak for myself but I think TLC is wrong here. Derrick did nothing wrong. Derrick stood up for what he felt was right. Good for him.

      Delete
    4. If Derrick wanted to do something Jill has supported his choices. After quitting the TV show, I do wonder how he supports his family

      Delete
    5. He is now claiming he and Jill did not get paid for being on the show, and that they were 'volunteers'. No one goes on a TV show without a contract, so someone must have been getting paid? Derick is going to bring the whole show to a stop if he continues to attack TLC, he needs to remember they still employ the rest of the family!

      Delete
    6. Derick said TLC didn’t fire him, so either stop complaining, or you’re calling Derick a lier. Either way, you can’t blaim TLC.

      Delete
    7. Of course Derick has the right to "stand up for what he felt was right". And TLC were well within their rights to let him go (if that's what really happened). Free speech means being able to say what you want without the GOVERNMENT punishing you for it.

      Delete
    8. According to Derick, he voluntarily "quit" the show.

      Delete
    9. Derrick removed himself from TLC, not the other way around

      Delete
    10. Derick wasn’t speaking his opinion but what the Bible says. God created male and female and nothing in between. Read Romans 1 if you want to see what God says about people leaving the natural use of their bodies.

    11. @ Debbie - What if someone said that God in any form is a falsehood, and that your lifestyle of worshiping him is wrong? Same thing, and I don't think you'd enjoy hearing that any more than someone else enjoys hearing that their lifestyle is a falsehood. So please refrain from that kind of judgement. Thank you.

    12. If all LGBT individuals were truly medically and genetically the sex they identify with, I think many people would be more accepting. Over 4% of Americans say they are LGBT. However, only 1 in 3000 have Turner Syndrome (and female biology is still present), 1 in 600 have Klinefelter Syndrome (and male biology is still present), only 1 in 5000 have Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (female genetics are present with male characteristics from a genetically caused hormone deficiency), and only 2 in 100,000 have true androgen insensitivity (female characteristics, male genetically).

  3. Why does Jill always take pictures in bed?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She hasn't posted tons of pictures out of bed. Taking a couple pictures in bed is not the same as always.

      Delete
    2. Nice to see all four of them! Israel is looking so much older, and Samuel is a cutie. It's good to see a picture of them.

      Delete
    3. its a strange place to take pictures. The boys have gotten so big though

      Delete
    4. Honestly, the bedroom and the bed are personal private places. Jill should understand that no one really wants to see a family in bed. I am blushing for her a little.

      Delete
    5. This is a sweet family moment and no harm sharing it.

      Delete
    6. You are kidding me......right?

      Delete
    7. It’s not like they are naked. Do watch tv at all? People walk around in the summer time with less clothes then they probably sleep in. Do you have kids? Do they come to your bed ever in the night or early mornings?

      Delete
    8. And please don’t take a selfie in front of a bathroom mirror too right? Because that’s a real private place.

      Delete
    9. Not all photos have to be posed and forced smiles in a professional setting, sometimes candid real smile happy moments make the best photos and memories.

      Delete
    10. I think she does it to capture raw family moments and not always be primped and proper. It shoes the reality of family life and not what people assume it looks like.

      Delete
    11. I'm extremely uncomfortable looking at their bedroom pictures. It's not the first one she posted.

      Delete
    12. 11:40 So agree with you that that is a private place. Surprised they posted such a picture.

      Delete
    13. Bedrooms for many people are just another room in the house. I spend much of my time in bed because of illness. I watch tv in bed. I spend time with my kids in bed. I eat in bed. I read in bed. I fold laundry in bed.

There is nothing wrong with a photo in or on the bed.

      Delete
    14. But do you take pictures of those family special times and plaster them online🙄🙄🙄🙄

      Delete
    15. Of all the pictures and selfies.....sit at the kitchen table or on th sofa.
Don't need to see wifey's picture in bed...

      Delete
    16. Snuggling with the little ones in our room first thing in the morning or right before bed was a normal part of life. I'm not sure what the fuss is about.

      Delete
    17. 7:55 But did you feel the need to share those snuggle pictures with the entire Web? Or did you enjoy them in the moment and not make strangers look, too? There's a difference.

      Delete
    18. Nope, 3:37, we didn't take pictures, but looking back, I'd welcome more pictures of time with our kids when they were little. I probably would have posted them on Facebook, which is set for only my Facebook friends to see. Strangers don't need to be seeing my kids. However, since the Dillards are, in a sense, celebrities, I can see why they'd make different choices. They have fans who enjoy seeing cute pictures of their family. The Dillards don't "make" anyone look at their pictures. No one "made" you look at this blog, did they?

  6. So glad to see Derrick and Jill, since TLC has cut them out of the story too. I wish Counting On would find a network that actually values the Duggar family and actually values Christ. TLC is nothing but a freak show like the old time carnivals had, and they hold people up for ridicule, all while pretending to be "non-judgemental." They judge everyone they put on their network, whether they might make money for them or not, based on whether or not people want to gawk at them, just like the carnivals used to do. Their problem is, people actually love some of the folks they hold up for ridicule.

Thank you Derrick, for being brave enough to stand up. May God pour out blessings on you and your family.

    1. Let me ask you this; What was Derick standing up to? I’m a Christian, and while I don’t agree with the transgender lifestyle, I don’t go around bashing people who do. How is that an example of the love of Christ? It wasn’t as if someone asked for his opinion on that show, he just decided to bring up and bash Jaz on social media, and I’m sorry, but an adult should not be bashing a young teen, no matter their opinion on that kids lifestyle. That is bullying, whatever anyone wants to say on the matter, and it just made him and other Christians look like jerks.

      Delete
    2. Agreed with you, 2:22. Derick's public anger with TLC began there and has continued, that's plain to see.

  7. It’s a very sweet picture of them. They look happy!

  11. I would just like to say that if you can't say something nice in here about any of these people... Please don't say it. I personally like both of the shows. But only the one show is on now. No family is perfect. Some of the younger children probably also read this Blog. Pleas say nice things.

    1. Younger children reading this blog? If they are old enough to be allowed unsupervised access to the internet, they are old enough to read different views about this family and decide for themselves.

  12. I don't think that they were actually in bed. The were just posing for a picture. What does it matter anyway. The didn't show anything bad.

  13. Seriously, who takes a picture of their whole family in bed and puts it on the internet???

    3. Oh please!! They’re fully clothed & covered. Most little ones snuggle with parents in bed. Don’t read anything untoward into this picture!!

      Delete
    4. Seriously! What's the big deal? They are fully clothed with their boys in there with them. Seen less modest pictures of people walking down the street and yes even sitting in a church. Give it a rest already.

  14. Yes why does she do that......I remember on the show a few times they showed them in the bedroom and the bed was messy... Unkempted looking....all you need to do is straighten the blanket on it and it would look a lot better

I would like to say is this what Derek said about transgenders was mean however he has a right to his own opinion. But some people believed he got fired from TLC which he did not. TLC said they have no plans film him in the near future. Iam big of the LGBT COMMINUTY. Some people hate Derek because they think he bullied Jazz which he did not. Moving on happy 29th Bday to Derek Dillard & Wishing him a great BDAY.

    1. I agree with you, Derick did not bully Jazz. But I do believe he bullied TLC, chastising TLC for having a reality show about a non-reality and discrediting their decisions.

      Delete
    2. It is not bullying to say what you believe. Bullying would be getting into a fight with someone physically or threatening them in some way. Derick did neither of those things.

      Delete
    3. Bashing a young teen on the internet is a form of bullying

      Delete
    4. I agree with you Neddy. It was mean-spirited of Derick to be critical of transgenders. He needs to sit down with transgenders and hear their stories. Likewise, they can listen to where he is coming from. Maybe then there could be mutual respect in spite of their differences. It’s a personal issue that needs to be understood on a person-to-person level.

  16. Happy birthday, Derick and may God bless you and your dear wife and sons more and more.

    1. Life is full of choices and consequences. Derick is not a victim; he is a person among many who is not immune to consequence.

      Delete
    2. Why is it that if Derick chastises a teen it’s “expressing his beliefs”, but if people respond negatively to his opinion they’re chastising him?

      Delete
    3. Ahh the old double standard, 2:27.

  19. I wondered whether TLC will include the Dillards in the show. Can't see why he shouldn't be included for voicing his opinions as that is what all the different lifestyles TLC shines the light on seem to be about. So if they don't include them is TLC saying that his way of life/expression of belief is not acceptable, but those of the other 'personalities' on differing shows are acceptable?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Since the Dillards quit the show they were on, it's a bit difficult for TLC to include them in Counting On or any other show for that matter.

      Delete
    2. I agree with you, Cheryl. The characters on the Jazz show, also on TLC, denigrate people with traditional values, so how is this any different?

      Delete
    3. I have never heard any bashing of people with traditional values from any show on TLC.

      Delete
    4. Explain to us all, including Jazz if she reads this, exactly how she and her family denigrate people with traditional values.

  28. I am personally not a fan of the bed pics. I was raised that the parents' bedroom was for the parents... personal and private for adults, and we kids were not allowed in their bedroom, let alone in their bed.

I am also not a fan of the "wifey" term she has on her shirt (Jessa has worn the same shirt in pics before too). I am curious as to what other people on here think of the term.....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I raised my kids with the ritual of snuggling in our bed on the weekends, warm, cozy and roomy! The parents are usually the only ones in the house with a bed big enough for family snuggles. The kids all had single beds and even the couch was too tight for group snuggles. I cherished those mornings!

      Delete
    2. I think "wifey" is a bit silly, but the Duggars seem to think it's cute. I don't see it as any sort of problem as it's not at all demeaning.

      Delete
    3. I think “wifey” is childish and degrading. And I agree that bedroom pictures should be kept private.

      Delete
    4. How sad, I have lots of sweet memories of sitting in my parents bed watching movies with them when I was little, and have never thought that there’s anything wrong with someone posting a picture with their kids in bed. I also see nothing wrong woth the wifey shirt, I’m curious as to why it bothers you?

      Delete
    5. Wifey, hubby, doesn't bother me at all. Our children were always welcome in our room. They were taught to always knock first before entering just like we knock first before entering their room.

      Delete
    6. Kids not allowed to the parents' bedroom? With all due respect, this sounds so unreasonably cruel.

      Delete
    7. "Wifey" makes me think of the old Judy Blume novel by the same name.

      Delete
    8. If Jill knew about the book by that title, I'll bet she'd put that shirt in the trash pronto!

  29. There is something that transcends all ages, past, present and future. It is called decorum. It has nothing to do with religious or non-religious values. Absolutely nothing wrong with family bonding time in Mama and Daddy's big bed. But those photos are for the family. In an age where people feel compelled to share a photo of their plate of food when out with friends or family with the world before eating it, this concept is not going to be popular. But regardless of what is currently "popular", decorum still reigns. We don't want to see the president's family photographed in bed with the kiddos - it would create an uproar. Let's keep our private lives private and our public lives classy. Always a good rule of thumb regardless of your age or belief system. And by the way, Happy Birthday Derrick!

    ReplyDelete

    1. @ 10:58 PM - Completely agree with you! "Everything goes" has become the way of social media and there is so little etiquette displayed. I would never post a photo of my family and me in our big bed. It just feels too private. I don't care how many "likes" it might give me.

      Delete
    2. I actually think that would be a cute picture -if the president had kids as young as Jill and Derricks- I don’t think there would be an uproar, that’s a bit absurd. There’s a difference between decorum and being so high and mighty that a picture like this bothers you. I thought it was cute.

      Delete
    3. I wouldn't want to see a pic of the current President and family in bed simply because his kids are past the littles stage. That would be weird. But I don't see anything wrong with parents snuggling with their littles. It's not like anything inappropriate is going on and they're all fully dressed. Just looks like a sweet family moment. I'm a little confused by people making such a big deal about it.

      Delete
    4. Well said, 10:58. Thank you.

    5. They're perfectly dressed and groomed, it's not lie they're showing an intimate moment, what's wrong with it?

    6. Jill seems almost desperate these days to show her happy family.

    9. Totally agree 9:52!

      Delete
    10. That's it! That's what I was trying to put my finger on. Jill seeming desperate, and this being the only way she can speak out. The more Derick says in public, the more she posts pictures saying what a wonderful Papa he is. Are we not supposed to notice the other things??

    11. If Derick had a shirt that said "hubby" those complaining about "wifey" wouldn't bat an eyelash.

    1. I just hope "they" discussed his decision . . . It was a part of Jill'ss life for many years - I understand the Duggar's way of thinking "leave and cleave" after marriage, BUT it takes the TWO of them to make IMPORTANT moves in their lives - NOT JUST ONE.
As long as they are happy together with this choice.

I do/will miss not seeing Jill (them).

  33. Derick needs to stop talking publicly about TLC. Look at that family he has. That's what he needs to focus on, not going online to vent. It's like pinching yourself repeatedly and wondering why you hurt. He may have pulled his family away from the TLC cameras, but he's still doing them no favors with the other media!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I am not sure why TLC or anyone else is shocked by his opinion. If TLC didn't want him to speak his mind then why do a show about Christians who speak their mind.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I didn’t see that TLC was shocked. Unaccepting, yes, but not shocked.

    2. TLC made a show about a family with a lot of children and then a new show about those children as they became adults and got married and started families.....being Christian was only part of their story.

      Delete
    3. And actually the story lines over the last few years have had very little religious content. No prayer circle, no Bible study, no mission trips, no Christmas celebration of the birth of Jesus, no Church services for a new baby... We've seen so little, that you actually forget that their show was to provide freedom to express their beliefs.
