Jinger's Baby Bump

Just a few weeks after announcing their pregnancy, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo are ready to share the due date. Baby Vuolo will be making his or her appearance in mid July, which means that Jinger is 15 weeks along and just starting her second trimester.

  2. I thought Joy Anna said their babies were 6 months apart, wouldn't that make Joy due in mid January? I'm not saying that to start anything, I'm just confused.

    1. You're not the only one who's confused. Six months apart means Joy is due this week or even overdue right now. Didn't Joy know when her baby was due when she said that on the video message?

    2. She probably got confused making fast math. Most likely pregnancy brain or she’s just not good at math

      Delete
    3. Joy might have gotten confused on the math while doing the video.

      Delete
    4. Joy is probably due in February since she most likely got pregnant on her honeymoon or shortly thereafter. Maybe they didn’t know Jinger’s due date when Joy said six months, since obviously Jinger isn’t showing much. She may have assumed they would be further apart.

    5. My husband is awesome at math, yet for some reason he doesn't count days and months the correct way. He starts with the day or month that we are on as number 1. Seems to me like that might be the mix up here.

      Delete
    6. 9:20...I’m sure Joy knows when her baby is due. As for all those saying she’s not good at math? Most likely, but you still know your baby’s due date. My guess is Joy is due now and it was a slip to “spill the beans”.

    7. She might have just been rounding it. I could see myself saying the same not meaning to be exact.

    8. Mid July is six months from mid Februry.

    11. You guys come on ! The video with the congratulations was made from what we know at the beginning of January. Joy Anna probably either said 6 months to round up, not to reveal jinger's due date or she could have said 6 months apart because the baby is due in 6 months.

    12. Guys, I'm not even such a huge Duggar fan, but give them a break on totally unimportant stuff like that... Joy Anna probably just said a random number, she just meant that she's happy that they'll have children so close in age that they're just a few months apart.
I wouldn't read anything more into it, there's no big mistery. Joy doesn't strike me as particularly good in math either, she simply wanted to send her sister good wishes.

    1. Well if they felt they only needed a year, than who is anyone to say they should have waited longer. I find that such a rude statement.

    2. Out of all the married children they are the only ones who waited any time at all.

    3. They are overjoyed to have a child. As long as they feel they are ready, that is what counts.

  19. I hope this baby is born in a hospital

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why? Home births are just as safe as hospital births as long and you have proper midwives.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous,
Being born in a hospital doesn’t guarantee anything. If anything, there are more interventions that occur in hospital than outside a hospital. 30% of hospital births are caeserean births.

      Delete
    3. Jessa lost of lot of blood, I hope Jinger does not do it. Most likely she is going to a hospital to have her baby.

      Delete
    4. It isn't possible to be as safe. All the equipment needed for any emergency is immediately on hand at a hospital with no delay. The educational training of an obstetrician is years and completely surpasses a certificate in midwifery. Even a fully qualified nurse with a degree and midwifery added to it is far better qualified and ready for emergencies much more than certified midwives who attend many home births.

      Delete
    5. Statistically, if you are a “low-risk” pregnancy, then it is actually safer to home birth....which is why it is soooo highly encouraged in the Netherlands, which has some of the best neonatal and maternal survival rates....the US...we’re ranked about 30th in the world when it comes to mother/baby deaths in hospitals. The US is great for many things...giving birth here in a hospital is not one of them.

      Delete
    6. Well, they can be, but I was really glad to have a NICU team right there when we needed it. I know a lot of people transfer in 5-10 minutes, but within 5 minutes of birth my daughter had CPR and oxygen. Plus, I had doctors helping me and more on hand to get ready to take my daughter out for more help if she needed it. Many women have successful homebirths, but my very normal pregnancy and delivery did not end with a healthy baby. I do have a healthy toddler now though, with no residual brain damage.

      Delete
    7. 30% of births in hospitals are c-sections because they are needed. None in home births because emergencies would be transferred to the hospitals.

Hospitals are safer. The woman has access to expert medical care, in case. Here, certified midwives worked in specialized units attached to the hospital. Women give birth in comfortable surroundings with as few interventions as possible. They do not stay long, as most 24 hours.
Other advantage, hospital staff cleans up and diposes the after birth.

      Delete
    8. 3:40, thank you for your comment. People who thing homebirths are dangerous should probably take a look at actual statistics.

      Delete
    9. 5:38, CPR can be performed at a home birth if need be.

      Delete
    10. I had my first two out of hospital with certified nurse midwifes, then data came out of MANA showing three times higher death rates for babies outside hospitals, so I had my third and fourth in hospital. You can have a CNM and a natural birth in a hospital no problem.

      Delete
    11. I'm not here with statistics, but Jessa and Jill had quite bad experiences with home births...

    4. I had a friend who barely showed at 18 weeks and she ended up with a 10 lb baby boy 😂 So ya never know. 😉

      Delete
    5. My vote is for a girl too because she seems to be carrying high :)

      Delete
    6. I had 2 girls and a boy and carried all of them low. The sex of the baby has nothing to do with how they are carried. Besides, you can’t even see her bump yet.

      Delete
    7. I hope it's a girl as well! I'd love to see another little Duggar granddaughter.

      Delete
    8. The whole "how they carry is a sign of the baby's sex" is a myth.

      Delete
    9. I think the original poster was simply rooting for a girl because there's like 2 girls and 8 boys between all the grandchildren... It would be cool if Joy's, Joe's, Jinger's and Jessa's 2018 babies were all girls, to balance things out!

    2. I think the original poster’s comment is rude and tasteless. Body-shaming? Really? From assumably one woman to another. Very mean-spirited.

      Delete
    3. I thought that ice cream picture was showing off, which the Duggars should not be doing. Remember when the kids lined up from oldest to youngest and didn't say much of anything?

  36. She's carrying much different than Joy. When Joy wa's about that far along, she had a significant bump!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She and Joy have completely different body types, so they will obviously carry differently.

      Delete
    2. Well, they have very different body types so there’s no reason for them to carry similarly

      Delete
    3. Nothing has seemed to add up with Joy's pregnancy, from the pictures to what she's said or anything. Very confusing. She should come right out and say when her due date is. She didn't do the "weeks" chalkboards like her sisters did, either.

      Delete
    4. 4:37 It's okay that Joy doesn't do the chalkboard like her sisters.

  38. She looks so cute. 😊 I am also due mid July.
    -Rachel

    ReplyDelete
  39. If this is a current picture, and she's 15 weeks pregnant this week, then she's due the 3rd week of July. But in the congratulatory video for Jinger, Joy said that her baby would be 6 months older than Jinger's. That puts Joy's delivery date right now! But Joy wasn't supposed to be due until sometime in February or March? Something's not adding up.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Your not the only one to catch on to this. Maybe Joy isn't good a math, although you would wonder how with a mother who was pregnant so often and two sisters and friends who have babies you would think calculating pregnancy dates would be a doddle lol!

      Delete
    2. Who knows? From her house video it looks like Joy could deliver her baby any day.

      Delete
    3. I guess we'll find out in a few months.

      Delete
    4. Maybe Jinger had the wrong due date at first. Sometimes you get to the doctor and find out you are further along than you thought or maybe Joy was just saying they would be about six months apart not exactly six months.

      Delete
    5. Joy's due date should be no earlier than Feb. 16th. That means there's only 5 months between that baby and Jinger's, if everything is as they say. If Joy has a 9 pound baby 3 weeks early, and if she knew that would happen when she made the video, then yes, 6 months apart.

      Delete
    6. In the grand scheme of things, when these babies are born doesn't really matter, except to the parents. It isn't a race or a contest.

      Delete
    7. If it was an error in saying 6 months apart, why didn't anyone correct her in that video?

      Delete
    8. 40 weeks from May 26 (Joy's wedding) is March 2. As much as I like Joy, the dates just don't add up. I do realise there could be up to two weeks difference due to the way due dates are calculated. But perhaps it is just the angles of the photos of Joy or maybe she has gained a lot of weight. So I'll try not to judge. I do wish her well. Even if she was pregnant before marriage, who am I to judge?

      Delete
    9. You don't count from the wedding, you have to subtract about 2 weeks from that for date of LMP and count from there. Joy said 6 months apart in the video and Jessa nodded in agreement. Jinger seems to know exact weeks, so it's Joy and Jessa who can't count, for some reason.

      Delete
    10. Looks more like weight gain to me. I looked the same at 7 months as I did 2 months later on delivery day. Weight!! I watched the weight gain the next pregnancy!!!

      Delete
    11. @anon6h53
Maybe you don't know this but when you conceive a child, you are already at week 2 (ovulation) so if the baby was conceived on her wedding night, then you count 38 weeks and not 40.

      Delete
    12. Doctors date a pregnancy from the first day of the last period not the date of conception. I got pregnant in May and had my son in February.

      Delete
    13. Ovulation occurs at two weeks in a 40-week gestation. Week one is menstruation. Week three is conception. There is no medical mystery here.

      Delete
    14. I don't understand why so many people are worried about Joy's due date, etc. It seems like they will give out details to the people that they want to know. I'm sure that all of these rumors are causing unneeded stress on a young pregnant wife. Life and pregnancy are hard under the best of conditions. But, we don't know what happened with them or when it happened. And what would it change,if we did know. It reminds me of another young pregnant Christian woman and I'm certain there were many questions about her due date, etc. Her name was Mary......
I'm not comparing her and Joy.Just a little something to think about. Bless You All.

    1. Home births are safe, you just need a proper midwife. There are probably some good midwives in Laredo Jinger can have deliver her baby, if she decides to have a home birth

      Delete
    2. I've delivered in my both a hospital (twice) and at home (once). I preferred being at home. My midwife had delivered hundreds of babies and I felt very safe. As long as you have a backup plan and an experienced midwife, birthing at home is a wonderful option!

    3. Do these girls have an aversion to male doctors?

    1. I wondeder that too, she is is far enough along to know the gender, so they could have a name picked out already

      Delete
    2. My doctors never checked for gender until around 16 to 18 weeks. Sometimes the babies don’t cooperate either, so you can’t always tell.

      Delete
    3. 10:45, now you can have blood testing done and find out between 10 and 12 weeks

      Delete
    4. Or it could be as simple as she didn't like how it looked the first time so she erased it and wrote it again... why so much speculation all the time...?

  46. I wonder if Jinger will choose to come home to have her baby? With her Mom, mid-wife sisters, etc. she would be in good hands.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why should Jinger have to leave her own home to go to Arkansas to have her baby? If anything her family members would go down there. And I'm sorry, but Jill made some very bad choices in her delivery will Israel, and for all we know with Samuel too. He had to be hooked up to monitors after he was born.

      Delete
    2. I hope she stays in Texas, finds a good hospital and a good doctor, and the rest of the family have to travel to come to her.

      Delete
    3. I hope Jinger chooses to deliver in a hospital where any potential emergency situation can be dealt with immediately, especially after what her sisters have been through delivering their first babies.

      Delete
    4. Home is in Laredo with her husband. I hope she and Jeremy choose to have their first baby in bospital, home births with fully qualified midwives can be great, but with a first birth you never know how things will go or how mom will handle labor and delivery, better not to take chances like Jill did with both her births. I honestly think these young women have home births for the convenience of TLC, no hospital would want a TV crew getting in the way.

      Delete
    5. 10:16, Israels birth doesn't count, Jill should have known that he would be too big for her to deliver, he was 2 weeks overdue. Home births are very safe if you have a real midwife

      Delete
    6. Come home? Her home is in Texas with Jeremy. Doctors advise against travel in the last stage of pregnancy. I hope she chooses to have her baby at a hospital as they are better equipped to deal with any complications that might arise.

    5. Yeah...I have healthy baby now, but not so long before that I had for example really weird miscarriage. I was happy and proud with positive pregnancy test, no problems or symptoms but once we got first check up around 8 weeks at local clinics and they did scan, it turned out that the heart never started to beat and there was no baby ať all inside. But I didn't bleed or had pain. I waited several other weeks for natural process of miscarriage but nothing happend. I had to get a special medicine to start contractions. But until then I kept even working. Finally at 12 weeks gestation I lost amniotic sac with nothing inside but it took few other months to get "clean". Nightmare but I didn't want to share it with anyone, especially my family not to worry them, zo just my husband and well, my boss know it because after all I needed to go for D&C anyway. My body just couldn't miscarry naturally and it was so hard because as people didnt know about this, they assumed we are just not in hurry even thought we were devastated. I wanted baby si badly so I couldn't wait anymore after D&C so already just 3 weeks later we tried and I got pregnant :)

    6. I agree with you too. We should be uplifting this family. I was one of those women who didn't look pregnant until I was 8 months pregnant. I carried very low with my son.

    1. What do you mean by "an edge up"? So you think her brothers and sisters are more likely to wind up in miserable marriages because they had kids "too early" in the marriage? Where is the proof of this? Jessa doesn't seem at all miserable, neither does Jill. If you're referring to Josh, I think he had WAY more issues than just having kids too early in his marriage.

      Delete
    2. Since none of us know them personally, the truth is we don’t know how each one of their marriages is doing and how “happy” they are. I will say after reading your reply it appears you may have over reacted a bit since it wasn’t said about you.

      Delete
    3. I would like to respectfully reply to this. I don't think the writer meant "edge up" the way you are taking it...I think the writer meant that J and J did take a little time after marrying to travel some and spend some time together (and especially with the Duggar-style of dating--courtship with chaperones, little privace and intimacy before marriage) getting to know each other before having children. Children are a blessing but let's face it, when they come, things are different. I think the writer meant that in his or her opinion, and also in my opinion, it is nice to have that special time as a couple before starting a family with children.

      Delete
    4. Jessa does look miserable with kids. She said it affects the marriage; watch the interview episodes. Ben doesn't seem too happy either.

But while many people have stated that they are happy J+J "waited on having kids and took some time to get to know each other", few have actually stated "that gives them an edge up" implying waiting to have kids makes for a better marriage.

I actually find the assumption that "it's obviously best to wait at least a year after marriage to have a baby to get to know each other" funny, when I think of the many people who wouldn't dream of actually getting married until they ALREADY had a baby and had "gotten to know each other" by living together for years.

Many such people see a wedding as just an excuse to have a party, or as a public celebration of a committed relationship, not as anything that actually changes anything about how committed they are. While I personally think the Duggar approach to courting goes a bit too far in the other direction, I know many people who court are doing so as a reaction to this approach.

In the end most of us who are commenting do not actually know the Duggars and are evaluating them based on a TV show. I don't think Jessa looks miserable, another Anon does. Neither of know the truth. We also don't actually know if Jeremy and Jinger are going to be great parents. Jeremy's not perfect either, as some of his comments that bashed Catholics, and his own brother in law (when he critiqued DIY missionaries), prove. But I try not to dwell on the negatives.

  55. Jinger looks radiant and I wish her well. However, while she may not ever read this page, I really doubt she'd appreciate the gossipy, snide comments about Joy-Anna.

That's what I find really ironic about all the "pro-Jinger" posts that are really just excuses to bash her sisters. Yes, she may have different beliefs than most of her family, that doesn't mean she'd approve of them being bashed. Do you really think Jinger hates all her sisters, or thinks she is superior to them because she is closer to mainstream secular society? That's what many of the "free Jinger" types seem to assume, that Jinger must surely share their contempt for the Duggars and is happy to be away from them.

(And I say MAY because while she obviously is stepping out of the Duggar mold by wearing pants and such, I'm not even sure if they deliberately waited a year using birth control, as most have assumed. Didn't Jeremy once talk about waiting 3 years, obviously they didn't do that. And not all women get insta-pregnant if they don't use BC.)

    2. Well said 10:31. I've noticed the veiled bashing of the Duggar ladies on the Bates blog.

  56. I like the blackboard idea. Looks like Jinger will do a pregnancy picture series, same position with number of weeks on the blackboard, similar to Jill's first pregnancy. Wish I had done that, so cute!

  60. I went to the BodyWorlds exhibit last weekend. One of the exhibits was babies in all stages of development. I urge everyone to see it, if it's ever in your area. Fascinating.

  61. If she didn't arch her back there wouldn't be a "bump". Something the size of an apple doesn't make a baby bump.

  62. Arch, arch, arch, arch, arch! Who cares. If these girls want to arch their back, their ears, their toes, their neck, who cares!! Some of you people do nothing but complain, gripe and fuss. The important thing is, these ladies have a healthy pregnancy and delivery. But most of all, a healthy baby. Some of you people need to get a life. A person or couple don’t have to live under their parents thumb. Just because they decide to move away and live their life doesn’t make them good or bad. It makes them independent and responsible. Love and appreciate you Jeremy and Jinger.
