Gifts for the Duggars

First off, have you all heard the big news of Samuel Scott Dillard's arrival? Check out yesterday's post to see the first photo of Jill and Derick Dillard's sweet second son. No additional details have been released, but as soon as more information is shared, we will pass it on to all of you.

Earlier today, we shared a preview of tonight's episode, featuring Austin Forsyth's proposal preparations. Now we have another video to share. In this clip, Jinger Vuolo puts together a Laredo-themed package for the Duggars back home. The one-hour show starts tonight at 9pm ET/8pm CT.

To those who have asked about removing auto play from videos hosted by TLC, we have spoken with the network, and they are unable to turn the feature off.

  1. I LOVE that she did that for her family! It's sweet!

  2. I pray that my children love each other and remain close just like you all are. ❤️ Any particular books or pieces of advice for establishing that special bond?

  3. Either poor Jill had a rough go of it and is not well or they are waiting to sell their story to People magazine. Otherwise there would be lots of details about Jill and the new baby

    1. Agree, 3:16. This is not their usual post-birth message pattern. Maybe they're going to say something on the show tonight? Between segments, like a commercial?

    2. Something is up cause no pic of mom and baby.

    3. Jill tried for a home birth again but ended up at hospital for another emergency c-cection. My question is, did Jill have proper prenatal care to know her babies large size (every pregnancy iv had have measured size esp after a large baby &vbac). There's things they are not saying.

    4. Derick sort of said it last night, 1:34, by saying that they could not get good medical care unless they traveled to a large city down there.

  4. Sweet Jinger. So thoughtful. Misses her family.

  5. So not really a care package more a gift package. Jinger shopping on her own (ok not quite with a camera crew in tow) but good to see all the same, great she is spreading her wings a little, would be great to see Jana allowed the same freedom!

  6. Auto play? All I get is a black box, again... Something definitely gets lost in translation with these videos.

  7. Off topic, but I just wanted to mention something. I noticed that you added Samuel's birthday to the birthdays page. However, you haven't fixed Austin's. It just says December 1993, but no specific day. Maybe you can fix it? Just something I think you ought to know.

  8. PLEASE PLEASE POST JOY,S WEDDING ON YOUTUBE AS THATS THE ONLY WAY A LOT OF US IN THE UK CAN WATCH YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY I REALLY MISS NOT BEING ABLE TO WATCH YOU ALL

  9. Off topic, but I feel when you update the banner, you should add Jubilee to it. If one of the older siblings suddenly passed away, they wouldn't be forgotten. I feel she should be included, she's a dugger baby too. Even if you put a baby angel icon for her image or her name in a pretty font if pictures are too controversial.

    1. There was another, between Josh and Jana & John David. Caleb was his name, I believe.

    2. Understood completely, but Grandpa is not on there either, or the baby Michelle lost first. Ana also had loss. It's a nicely done banner for those living.

    3. I for one do not want to see that picture of Jubilee's feet again. Imagine how anyone here would feel if they had a miscarriage, too, and then had to stare at a picture of a stillborn fetus all the time. Have some sensitivity! That picture should never have been released beyond the family. It's private!

    4. In that case, why not Caleb, too?

    5. Yes it would be nice to have her and Caleb there, especially given the family's beliefs about life.

    6. I understand Michelle had a miscarriage last summer. No one made a formal announcement from TLC.

    7. If they did that they should add one for Caleb - he would have been the 2nd oldest. Michelle miscarried him which they contributed to her taking birth control prior to that pregnancy which is why they made the choice to not use it.

    8. I have lost 3 pregnancies, and I so appreciate you wanting to acknowledge the brief life of Jubilee. That said, I think the banner represents the people's lives we are following now on this blog. Grandpa Duggar, Michelle's first miscarriage (2nd pregnancy) and Anna's miscarriage are not featured either. If anything a note in memory of those passed may be appropriate, but I personally think the girls made the right decision not to include the late members of the family in the banner.

    9. Yes! Add Jubilee!

    10. Matthew: While I appreciate what you are saying I don't think it is a good idea for two reasons. First doing this might upset the duggars. Secondly do you put up an angel icon for all the babies miscarried because they also lost another baby early on, and Anna also suffered a miscarriage. There are so many members of this family that the header pictures are already very small and are just going to get smaller with each addition.

    11. What about Caleb? He's forgotten about all the time

    13. They could do a memorial banner separate maybe for their children with Jesus.

  10. It was nice of Jinger to do this. She probably thinks of her family back home often. I like her hair pulled back. She has such a cute face.....Jane

  11. That was no Care package. That was just random touristy souvenirs and a bunch of candy that the older kids didn't even like. Please don't try to make things something they aren't. There's enough of that going on with this show already.

    1. You do understand that a care package is just a package you send someone showing that you care about them, right? So.... yes, this was a care package. She picked out specific things she knew they would like and then some candy that is popular where she now lives. The kids wouldn't know if they liked the candy or not if they didn't try it. Sometimes it is nice to try new things even if you don't end up liking them. The whole thing was very thoughtful!!!

    2. While I agree that a number of things are made-for-TV with this show, I'm not sure that was the case in this instance. Jinger wanted to send things back to her family members but with such a large family, she did need to keep it within reason. She chose candy popular in her new city for the kids to try since they like candy. She bought some "touristy" things for the others, such as they might buy if they came for a visit. Although she clearly loves Jeremy and her new life, I imagine she misses her family and they miss her...that's normal.

    3. Gee, Anon@10:50, settle done! Jinger tried to sent affordable and easy to ship little gifts for everyone to enjoy. It may not have been perfect in your eyes; but thoughtful none the same!
