I'm sure everyone is happy within the family but still don't see the necessity to go to you tube to express. I'm wondering if it's a TLC requirement or they earn from hit's.

No, there's plenty of wedding videos of family members that does this kind of thing. It started to die out during the early 2000. It's nice to see it being picked up again. I think it's really sweet :) It's for great memories for the bride and groom <3
DeleteUmm... Facebook is ok but you tube isn't?? Some people don't have Facebook and enjoy the videos. So I'm glad they share. Here's a hit- it's captioned as congratulation or birthday wishes or advice to the newlyweds, so you KNOW what the video is. Since they annoy you, you may just exhibit some self-control and don't click play. Problem solved.
DeleteI agree with the gist of the original post, that the sheer quantity of these videos, at any given event, is getting ridiculous. All those people just missed mixing and mingling with loved ones in real life, to stand in front of a camera and talk to the lens.
DeleteAgree 1:14. People need to put down the cameras and the cell phones these days. They're experiencing life through a lens. We don't need to see every moment of every day on someone's YouTube channel or Facebook page.

ReplyDeleteWhy do people constantly ask about updating the header? Lily and Ellie have said many times that it takes a lot of time to do this and they cannot be doing it constantly. I don't think they should add anyone until they are actually married into the family and should only have group family shots instead of keep adding babies. Its starting to get a bit ridiculous, eventually the header photographs will be so tiny you won't be able to see them!

DeletePoor Jana. I sincerely wish Jim Bob would have her set up with someone. I have heard Lawson and that Jonathan guy. I also read about that Mitch guy from the Bontrager family. I clicked on their blog and boy oh boy would they be a good match! He is so cute with those dimples too! He works in the dirt and farms and looks like a manly guy. Jana's preference. What a cutie!! I do hope they get a chance to meet someday. They both come from large families and love music. And of course the Lord! He seems so genuine and helpful to his family.

DeleteJana has said that she isn't going to court the first man that comes along. She'll find her prince charming soon enough. It just shows that these Duggars aren't controlled and put arranged marriages as some people think they are.

DeletePoor Jana? She's a grown woman, who has obviously made the choice to live at home under the authority of her father. I assume there has been no shortage of potential suitors, but she has been sensibly discriminating and in no hurry to get married and I respect her more for it. What you, a stranger, may think is a "good match", may have simply been a case of no chemistry. It's either there, or it isn't. JimBob can't manufacture that for her.

ReplyDeleteAw, I just loved how Jedidiah's love for his older sister shone through in his congratulations video! (I'm sure her other brothers have plenty of love for her, it just was very apparent with Jed.)

DeleteMy "guess" - they changed/perhaps had rental tux/formal suits that had to be returned. I doubt very much they wore T-shirts to the wedding.

ReplyDeleteThere are few things that upset a child more than being left out of something. For the Duggars to have allegedly taken in Tyler and have him living as part of the family yet kept out of all of the family's public presence (their show, their blogs, these videos) is likely very upsetting to him. On one hand they're telling him he's part of the family, on the other they're hiding and excluding him. Changing homes would be difficult enough for a child; this treatment seems unnecessarily cruel.
