  1. Do we have a name yet? He and Spurgeon are darling, beautiful babies! I just wish they'd come up with a name before birth. Oh well...

    2. Exactly; about 9 months. It's just getting annoying now.

  2. For names: I suggest Sherlock, Sean or even Charles. Jessa is beautiful and progressive; so why not?

  5. I have no issue with the parents waiting to name thier baby. Sometimes you just have to see the baby to see what name fits!!
I do think Ben and jess will announce the name on Monday. That's when people magazine comes out with new material. It's sad that these two are waiting for the highest paycheck to release the innocent baby's name.

    1. I think your wrong .just because they dont have a name right away tk apease you doesnt mean they are waiting for a high paycheck

    2. Hi anon. I never mentioned I was upset about the couple not having a name right away. I think it's perfectly fine to wait a few days to see what name best fits the baby. It took me 4 days to name my oldest daughter so I get it. You are entitled to your opionion about thinking Ben and jess are NOT waiting to name the baby or release the name based around a hefty paycheck from some rag mag. However I never stated they are withholding thier name to NOT appease me. I said before, I have no issues with them waiting to name thier baby until they find a name that fits. I DO think they will withhold the name until Monday. People magazine will have it first... or maybe another that is a higher bid.

    3. Personally I don't see anything wrong with that. I have friends that picked out a name but wanted to wait to see the baby before deciding. But even if they wait to announce it for money I don't blame them. It doesn't hurt the child and it allows them to make money while spending time with their baby and not away from their baby. I would do it if I was in their shoes.

  6. Why is this family almost always vague? Jill stated there were "some complications" in Central America but didn't address what those were. They can't have it their way and expect people to continue to "hang on" to them. The viewers will drop off without these things being addressed. What happened down there other than the shower rack incident and Derick almost getting hit by lightning? I don't call those "complications", those are events.

    1. beleive derick and jill need to stay state side and address own health issues frist, raise their childern in a safe healthly home which over rides this nonsense of traveling to the dangers of central america froced to live in daily fear. also feel ben and jessa will come a wonderful frist name for their 2nd son hopefully will not be repeated over used family or something from the bible name, something close like her sister jill used for her son 100% different from all else. by the way my writen commit here is far from what you people call profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste. what i call bad poor taste bringing god and all that stuff. people who post a real from the commit in this blog have a right tobe heard tell it like is (( THE TRUTH )) how some may feel.

    1. Yet you came to their family blog, which is where one would post about having a baby, to read the story.

    2. Agreed...their lives (and this blog) is mostly getting married and having babies. And that can be a yawn.

    3. They may not have 'cornered the market', but they do make some of the most adorable ones I've seen!! They all have such beautiful families.

    4. Yes, but that is what their family is about. They are famous for having a lot of babies. I am surprised that Jessa so settled into a role of wife and mother, I thought she would want to have some profession, she seemed more open minded than others growing up.

  8. Seriously, what's in a name anyway?? A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet!~ something my mom would always say.
Jessa and Ben, this is your child. People have come to like the name Spurgeon. And that name alone has gotten people to research the man for whom he is named after. You will pick a name that will suit him, I am sure! Take as much time as you need. They grow up so fast. A few days will go by in a blink. It is okay to consider names after he is born. Announce it when you are ready. Most of all, enjoy your babies!!

    1. What's in a name.....a rose would smell as sweet by any other name...... William Shakespeare said it first. I'm not trying to be snotty or anything, but I just wanted to make sure that Shakespeare gets the credit for his immortal words; we just tend to borrow them, claiming them as our own.

  10. One thing I wonder. If Jessa and Ben are settled on naming their kids after missionaries and religious authors, (Spurgeon's first and middle name was last names of 2 men), how is she going to name her daughters? There are not a lot of last names of religious people that are feminine. Maybe Taylor, as in Hudson Taylor, but not many at all.

    1. Actually, there are quite a few women in the Bible. Rachel, Rebekah, Rahab, and Martha, just to name a few. Then there are also the Hebrew transliterations of the names. Rebekiah, Selah, Hadassah, Moria, and Monavoo.

    2. I answered your question... but posted it on the computer moment below! Haha

    3. Women of the Bible also include Mary, Ester, Deborah, Leah, Priscilla, etc. Elisabeth Elliot and Corrie Ten Boom are women who have been Christian authors. In addition to being authors, Elisabeth Elliot and Amy Wilson Carmichael, were missionaries. Those are just a few more names that they could consider as a name for a daughter if they want to some day. I like the name Stanley for a son, after Charles Stanley, but I don't think they want to be stuck with an S theme in the first name of their sons.

  11. I think they like to keep people guessing on the name of the new baby because money is involved with the show.

  12. I ordered a subscription for People magazine. I'm paying almost $85.00 for a whole year, but think it will be well worth it, because I will be getting a People magazine once a week.
When I get my first magazine,I will say good-bye to this blog. I like reading about the Duggar family, but I do not like reading everyone's opinion. To tell you the truth I care 2 cents what people thinks

    1. If that's the case why would you spend $85.00!!! On Oeople magazine? All you are going to get is secular gossip about everybody and anybody. Seems like a waste of money to me

    2. Can't believe you paid $85 so you wouldn't have to read this blog. You could have found your news elsewhere online for free & donated that $85 to a good cause.

  13. I think people need to quite Leaving nasty comments abut this family. They are a wonderful family who's got their issues like the rest of us and our families. Just because they are believers and live a different lifestyle than most people and even different than most believers may I add. They are absolutely wonderful. Who are we to judge? We all have our problems. If they want to wait a few days or even weeks to name their child then so be it. It's not your kid so let them be. I get so sick and tired of people being so nasty towards this family. Let them live their lives as they please. They have a big family so yes they are going to talk about getting married and having babies, and every new marriage and new precious little ruby that is born in this world is something to celebrate and be excited about. If you don't like it and its such a yawn for you then quite leaving your comments and let this family be.

  14. Why the rush for the name? Where I live, almost nobody has a name ready when the baby is born and most people only reveal the name at the christening which often happens two months after birth.

  15. I think they should name him Hannaniah Jabez. Jabez after the Jabez Prayer, and Hannaniah because that was Shadrach's Hebrew and birth name which means "Who is like God?" Also. Both are unusual names! Bonus.

  16. How about William Franklin Graham Seewald? You're Welcome!

  17. They show name him Kyle James Seewald. He was born on my nephew's 13th birthday.

  18. Ummmm. Yes, there are plenty of religious names that can be used for a girl. Not just your standards.
    Look into it.
My husband and I wanted to name our daughter "Mazey" ..... after a preacher we both enjoyed. His name was Maze Jackson. This was a modern day preacher. So the idea of naming children after bible names and religious leaders does not make it complicated.

  19. I believe we'll have this baby's name on Monday, 2/13 as we all know that's "SHOW TIME".
