Recap: 'Proposal in the City'

Counting On "Proposal in the City"
  • Jinger, Michelle, Jessa, Ben, and Spurgeon are visiting Jeremy's parents, Chuck and Diana Vuolo, in New Jersey. The Vuolos live a short distance north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. "Jinger's always a very happy person, but since she and Jeremy have gotten together, you can just tell that she's head-over-heels in love," says Jessa.
  • Jeremy takes Jinger, Jessa, and Ben kayaking at a nearby lake. Jinger wears board shorts, while Jessa borrows a pair of sport shorts from Ben. "My sisters and I typically wear skirts, but there are certain activities where it's more appropriate to wear something else," shares Jessa.
  • "I love the fact that Jinger wears dresses and skirts," adds Jeremy. "I think she's absolutely beautiful, but it was kind of cool seeing her in shorts getting on the kayak."
  • The following day, everyone drives 2.5 hours north to meet Grandma and Grandpa Vuolo, who live near New York City.
  • Grandma gives Jinger a big hug and tells her how much she loves her. She has a blast showing Jinger some "embarrassing" baby photos of Jeremy, which Jinger says are "adorable." "If by adorable you mean overweight, a little cross-eyed..." comments Jeremy.
  • Jinger learns how to prepare meatballs from scratch from Grandma Vuolo, who confesses that her husband is the Italian one and that she didn't learn how to cook authentic food until after marriage. Everyone loves the meal, especially Jeremy.
  • Jeremy scores skybox tickets to a Red Bulls professional soccer game. (He was previously a goalkeeper for the team.) Jinger enjoys walking out onto the field and having dinner with Jeremy's friend Luis, who is the current goalkeeper, and Luis' wife Cara.
  • The next morning, Jeremy leaves the engagement ring with Luis, who will deliver it to the proposal location later that evening.
  • Jeremy, Jinger, Michelle, Jessa, Ben, and Spurgeon head into New York City for the big day! Both Jinger and Jeremy like the Big Apple. "I definitely enjoy all the hustle and bustle," shares Jinger. "I love the diversity."
  • To throw Jinger off, Jeremy's photographer friend James offers to take last-minute pictures of the couple on a rooftop at sunset.
  • As the sun begins to set on a rainy evening, chaperone Ben heads to the rooftop with Jinger and Jeremy to do the "photo shoot." Jeremy becomes very nervous that the rain will ruin his plans. He prays a fervent prayer, and by the time the big moment arrives, the sky has cleared up.
  • "As we're walking up the stairs, about to go out onto the roof, my heart started beating faster and faster," admits Jeremy. He and Jinger arrive on the rooftop to the sound of a cellist and guitarist playing "Come Thou Fount," a song that is very special to the couple.
  • "I don't think she quite put it together what was going on," says Jeremy. "It wasn't until I really got down on one knee that I think it hit her what was happening."
  • "Jinger Nicole, will you marry me?" A look of sheer shock comes over Jinger's face as Jeremy pops the question. "Yes!" she responds, still wide-eyed. "Are you serious? Babe! I can't believe it. I don't even know what to say."
  • "Yes is good enough," responds Jeremy. "Yes is all I need."
  • Ben comes out of the shadows to congratulate the newly engaged couple, and he and Jeremy start telling Jinger about all the prep work that went into the special moment. "I am so amazed, now hearing all the pieces of the story," says Jinger.
  • Michelle, Jessa, and Spurgeon arrive on the rooftop. Jinger shares a long, heartfelt hug with her mom. "Oh, Jinge!" exclaims Michelle, through laughter and tears.
  • Back in Arkansas, Jana calls a family meeting to discuss her plans to renovate the guest house for Jill and Derick's return. "I like organizing things, but people is a little more of a challenge for me," says Jana.
  • Jana shares her to-do list with her siblings. (She is very much a list-oriented person.) "Whenever Joe and I actually go and finally get married, we're already going to have all the experience with the honey-do list," jokes John-David. "We're used to it."
  • Bubbly Anna comes over to see how the project is going. Putting the $45 piano that the Duggars picked up at an auction to use, the Duggar daughter-in-law plays a snippet of "Joy to the World," using one finger. She jokingly tells Jana that she has been practicing hard.
  • "We have a really good relationship with Anna," shares Jana. "She really is just like one of our sisters. We get to see her quite often. They don't live too far away."
  • "Jana has been such an encouragement and such a rock this past year of my life," comments Anna. "She is such a treasure, and she will make an amazing wife one day. But selfishly for right now, I am so thankful that I have had her as...someone to laugh with, cry with, pray with."
  • Down in Central America, Jill and Derick are preparing for their trip home. "We will be planning to come back in about four months, Lord willing," says Jill. "We have possibly a couple weddings while we're back, so that could change things, depending on the wedding dates."
  • The Dillards say they will miss the dear friends they have made on the mission field.

  1. Why does Ben need to chaperone if the photographer is there?

    1. Supposedly Ben went along to throw Jinger off the engagement trail, but he was acting like a panting puppy hanging around them. I would have wondered what was up, if I were Jinger.

  2. Is it that much of an issue that you have to report that Jinger is not wearing a skirt?

    1. Considering how frequently the Duggars talk about women's attire and skirts on the show, I think that Jinger and Jessa wore shorts to kayak is noteworthy.

    2. An issue with who? I see Jessa and Jeremy spoke about it briefly in the recap. I don't see what you mean by "an issue"?

    3. I think it's actually great they mentionned the girls are comfortable wearing shorts when they do some activities. They look more ''open-minded'', not as strict as they usually appear.

    4. If you've ever watched the show you'd already know that yes.. Yes it IS that big an issue lol. Jingers the only one who's been spotted in "pants" before. She's such a little rebel lol

    5. Yes, because the family has made a point to say they don't generally believe in their girls wearing pants.

    6. It's kind of a big deal when a duggar girl wears shorts. They always wear skirts for modesty reasons as well as want to dress feminine. I'm sure everyone will over dramatize this small detail because to those who don't have such strict standards of dress code ( such as being covered collar bone to past knees as the duggar girls write in thier book) wearing shorts isn't a big deal....
I hope this is the first step towards leading a happy life for jinger. Her in laws will be close to NYC so she can always make a trip to see family and stay in the big city a while and get some real life experience. Maybe she can finally pursue her dream of being a professional photographer and live in the big city!!! I hope now that she will be married soon she can be away from the compound and really find herself and spread her wings and fly!!!

    7. Women can't wear men's clothes. Jessa needs to review Deuteronomy before she thinks about wearing any more of Ben's clothes.

    8. Well most people make a big issue out of the girls wearing skirts, so, Why Not??

    9. @3:10 PM -- And you need to read your ENTIRE Bible, not just the Old Testament. Many of those OT rules do not apply to Christians.

  3. Grandma gave Jinger a big hug, which was returned, but Jinger stiffened and turned sideways when Grandpa tried to do the same, did you notice? And then we hardly saw another shot of Grandpa.

    1. I noticed that as well. It's unfortunate because I'm sure Grandpa felt he was being put off. But with all male members of her family, including her dad, Jinger is used to side hugs. Grandpa is used to frontal hugs so it was an awkward but understandable moment.

      Delete
    2. I noticed this too, Anon 10:10am. I thought it was odd that she was extending the "side hug" rule to these generous grandparents.

      Delete
    3. Sure did. It was awkward.

      Delete
    4. I think she was going for a side hug since he is male and he wasn't expecting that so it ended up a little awkward. And then Jinger was getting cooking lessons so I can understand why Grandpa might not have been present for that.

      Delete
    5. Probably because they have been taught to not give frontal hugs to the opposite sex. It's a personal preference and I don't always feel comfortable hugging another man full frontal, even if I am related to him. It doesn't mean I don't love them just as much as my female friends and family. It's just something I prefer to only do with certain people I feel it's appropriate. Also, "Grandpa" may have just not been as vocal and outgoing as "Grandma" so he possibly stayed in the background on purpose. Not everyone is eager to be on t.v.

  4. Ben stammered and hovered like an excited child after the engagement. It wasn't his best or most shining moment on the show.

    1. I noticed that. I wanted to say back off and give them some room, they just got engaged and don't need a third person hanging around!

    2. Poor Ben. He just doesn't seem to find his place in theis drama. And he tries so hard.

    3. Maybe it seemed odd for Ben to be there afterwards but let's remember
this family follows courtship rules, maybe Ben was chaperoning? I think he is
Sincere because he is not used to the cameras. The other duggars have had many opportunities to be on camera. Those who called Ben child like or like a puppy atleast Ben is sincere.

  5. I enjoyed seeing their journey to engagement. Jinger is so cute with her man and he appears to be just as in love. Loved the grandma and her sweetness. Jessa seemed so happy for her sister, love the family.

  6. so happy for them love the show.so glad she is her own person!

  7. i agree, it gets tiresome to continue to comment on what they are wearing ; modest attire has always been appropriate with the Duggars and the Bates. And as a sidebar, Ellie quit apologizing for delays in posting - your first priority should be your personal life and family obligations; your readers will continue to return here to keep up with the blog

  8. How did Mr Duggar feel about the frontal hug after the proposal?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably the same way he's felt about all of their full frontal hugs during the courtship period.

      Delete
    2. Jinger is doing things differently compared to her sisters and brother as far as honoring her parents in that aspect. She practically sits in his lap, and I noticed she rubbed the side of his abs in one episode. Most others do this, it's not uncommon, and I could careless BUT for what the Duggars have always said over the years about their standards that was not acceptable. Im just genuinely curious what her parents think about this. The others could not really touch each other except for a quick side hug, until after engagement.

  9. Why did they need chaperones while paddling individual kayaks on a lake?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This is the way they choose to handle their courtship something. The fact that others do not feel chaperones necessary is irrelevant. As with many things in life, there is no one right way to do things. Different does not equal wrong.

      Delete
    2. "Different does not equal wrong." Sound advice. The Duggars should take that to heart when it comes to same-sex marriage.

      Delete
    3. How much "trouble" can you get in, sitting in separate kayaks in the middle of a lake?! LOL

  10. Jana can still be a friend, sister and support to Anna regardless of her marital status. It is goofy the way they talk about being married as like a 24x7 job for a woman. It's a relationship, not a career.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Keeping a home and preparing meals is a job like any other, if you ask me.

      Delete
    2. As someone married and running my own household far away from my family I can say that I understand what Anna is talking about. My first priority is always to my husband and home and even when I really want to, I can't always be there for the people I love the way I was able to when I was single. To be fair it's the same way for my husband now so it's not about being a man or a woman, more about having a lot more responsibilities and time commitments. And if Jana moves away after she marries she really won't be able to see Anna anytime she wants.

      Delete
    3. "Keeping a home" and "preparing meals" isn't a job any more than bathing yourself and getting dressed is; it's just part of life. Regardless, that wasn't my point. "Being a wife" is by definition a relationship; it isn't a job.

      Delete
    4. Keeping a home and preparing meals for a spouse and/or family are actually not a part of life for many people. Done properly, they are a job as important as any other.

The point is that if the couple follows traditional roles, then being a wife does mean running a home, which is not the same as grooming yourself or making your bed as a single person.

I am not in line with much of what these folks follow, but I can respect their beliefs and appreciate that, for any wife or mother trying to do her best, "a woman's work is never done."

  13. Jana seems to have so many talents but all her future holds is to be "an amazing wife"? How about an amazing interior decorator? An amazing therapist?

    1. In Duggar World being an amazing wife is the pinnacle of success. Seems to me that is a tragic waste of potential. It is possible to be an amazing wife AND an amazing something else. Ask any married woman who is also a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, a CEO. Maybe Jim Bob and Michelle should pull their heads out of the 19th century and let their children spread their wings

      Delete
    2. I follow the Duggars because they are an interesting celebrity family that is not total trash like the rest of the junky gossip and sometimes the news is too depressing and I want something light-hearted!

As someone who is a doctor and not an evangelical Christian, I can tell you that being an amazing wife and mother is the MOST important part of my life. You CANNOT "have it all". I find the criticisms about Jana fascinating. She seems to have a wonderful life. Strong family. She is out & about doing all kinds of interesting things. There is nothing tragic or a waste about her at all. How sad if anyone thinks sitting in an office is better than being home with family.

I happily work part-time and gave up my fancy academic career because I value family most. We live modestly financially and happily.

Good for Jana for all her interests that she shares with the public -- music, decorating, teaching her siblings, etc.

    3. I saw your post OP a few days ago and it sent me to ask my mother and grandmother upon the subject. Both are educated women and each decided to care for their families in place of carriers. I asked them what they thought about your comment and there replies mirrored each other. When you find a wife, strive to find a woman who delights in the thought of being a wife and mother first, as you should strive to be a husband and father over all else. They said that the Lord gives a woman a child as a gift and that it should be cherished and loved. They both said being wives and mothers was the most fulfilling job they could have ever imagined and that it was exactly as God had designed it. They also said that they felt sorry for girls these days that believe that being a wife and mother is something of a burden or something lowly and antiquated.

So therefore OP I choose to disagree with you by the wisdom of my mother and grandmother. By my own reflection I hold fast that every woman should desire to be a Proverbs 31 wife. Just as every man should strive to be a Ephesians 5 husband. I find no shame in the role God has placed for me. I pray that others would find peace in theirs.

      God bless

    7. Joshua is a human being who was overtaken by temptation as any human being can be no matter what their upbringing. A lot of minister's kids have gotten into drugs, sexual sins, etc. The thing that bugs me is that he was lured via computer but no one says anything about the trappers setting these traps and nothing is done to stop it. I handled our churches email account and half our emails had a subject of "new pics" or "wives looking to cheat" etc. Why would a church get such emails when our email address said clearly victorychurch@yahoo.com? Joshua has been crucified for being a vulnerable human being and people still won't let it go. "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted." Anna is the most spiritual person I know. I wish more people were like her; the world would be a better place. And those trappers setting the traps need to be stopped!!!

      Delete
    8. Agreed, Anna looks pregnant. I just don't trust josh. I know as Christian I should be more trusting, it's just that little voice in my mind says Anna shouldn't let her guard down or have anymore babies with josh.

  17. All the rest of the stuff this season was nonsense. Last night, they finally got around to doing what they set out to do this year. 18. Comment #2: When this family has made such a large effort to advertise the facts that they EXCLUSIVELY wear skirts or dresses, yet it is. Now they backpedal, like they do on a lot of things.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Or they finally came to their senses and realized participating in certain activities is better done in shorts; not jeans or a skirt!

      Delete
    2. They aren't back pedaling. If we see Michelle with shorts on then that would be a different story. Jessa and Jinger are adults. I don't think their parents have chosen the girls clothing in years. Sometimes it is just more modest to wear long shorts especially when there is water around that they could possibly fall into. They were both still very modest.

      Delete
    3. In the past, the girls have worn tights/yoga pants UNDER a skirt when participating in sports or water sports, so this is a first where they've actually just worn shorts. Things are changing!!!!

      Delete
    4. It's about the family values they were ALL so proud of, and how they followed the Bible (God's word) to the letter. But then we wear men's clothing all of a sudden, and that's OK???? Not just shorts, but men's shorts! If they came across a woman in public who was wearing men's clothes, they would what? Pray for her because they consider it sinful! So it is a big deal, and it's a huge step away from what values they say they hold. Viewers certainly should question it.

      Delete
    5. "A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this." Deut. 22:5

      Delete
    6. Maybe they're just changed their minds about the importance of skirts. The Bible does not mandate skirts for Christian women.

      Delete
    7. When that was written men wore robes which look like dresses. The point in the scripture is what the person is seeking to do by wearing the other sexes clothing. We had a man in our town who dressed as a woman and stood on the street corner to solicit men. It is not just the wearing of the garment. A lot of women borrow their husband's shirt to clean in or paint. The girls were not trying to look like men or fool anyone.

      Delete
    8. Everyone keeps misinterpreting Deut. 22:5!! I'm sorry, but it does not mean a woman can't wear shorts or pants because they're dubbed "men's clothing." It is referring to transvestism. Men wore long robes and cassocks in biblical days but they were not wearing woman's clothing. This bible verse means women and men cannot change genders. Nothing about clothing in general. I hope this comment gets published because I hate to see people so misinterpret the Bible. I have been friends with (and taught by) a bible scholar for over 10 years and we have discussed many many things.

      Delete
    9. Shorts and pants are not mans clothing only.

      Delete
    10. The Duggars never said their skirts are mandated by the Bible. Time and time again, they explained that it was their personal preference. They are entitled to change their minds and their personal standards, aren't they?

      Delete
    11. Can you literally define men/women's clothing? That verse was written when men wore tunics( dresses) so...you are actually projecting your opinion based on traditions post Biblical days. Men used to wear wigs with ribbons too. My guess is if you saw a man today with long hair held back in a bow you would throw that verse around too, but it was the masculine trend "back in the day". That's why it is dangerous to build doctrines around one verse of Scripture.

  20. Anna sure did look pregnant. But I'm sure it's just from having 4 children, from wearing a shirt that added a look of fullness to her midsection, and from her natural way of walking with a waddle...I just cannot wrap my head around the possibility that she could actually be pregnant!!!!

    2. "Her natural way of walking with a waddle"? Wow you are rude! How would you like someone to say that about your walk? I don't think she walks any different than any other young woman on the show.

      Delete
    3. She dropped a lot of weight & size while Josh was "away." So either she's put some of that back on or she's pregnant. Either way she does not look the same size.

      Delete
    4. @3:42, All pregnant women get "the waddle," and we know it, and we're proud of it. Anna's been pregnant so much that she has spent a lot of time walking that walk. It's not rude to point out a pregnant waddle, or a woman whose back has been so strained from multiple pregnancies that she now walks differently. It happens!

      Delete
    5. IF Anna is pregnant, she may be delaying the news in favor of allowing Jinger and Jeremy to enjoy the spotlight with their courtship-engagement-wedding. Just a thought as Anna seems to be genuinely sweet, humble thoughtful.

    6. I think it has more to do with the backlash she will receive by adding a 5th child to this situation.

  21. Did you notice how Jana sort of paused and said, "They don't live too far away," when talking about Josh & Anna? You could tell she was trying not to disclose their location. But the pictures the family have posted online show where they're living, a property we've definitely seen before.

  22. I really liked Jeremy's proposal except for the tiny detail where he got down on one knee with just the ring and not the box. He should've gone with his first gut feeling to include the box. It just looks nicer that way. But of course at the end of the day all that matters is that she said yes and she probably didn't notice that.

  23. I do not like Michelle and Bob Duggar because of what they stand for, but I am happy for Jinger that she has the guts to stand up to them and I bet it would be safe to say that even if Jim a Bobber didn't give his okay to court his daughter that Jinger would have went ahead anyway. Nobody should have that much control over their kids that they have to ask their parent's permission to marry somebody they love. Hope Jinger you are very happy because God knows you kids deserve it.

I also think they delayed the filming because it was quite light out when they got in & out of the car, but sunset wouldn't have been til about 8:30 or later at that time of year. So they probably weren't out on the roof "before dinner" as they tried to get us to believe. Warped TV time.

    2. If it's dark enough to have that amount of sunset and to need all those lights for filming, then how can you have a rainbow in the sky? You need sunlight from the sun being at the right angle and still being high enough in the sky as the storm recedes. That whole rooftop engagement scene, from arrival in the rain to dropping on one knee to taking pictures afterwards, must have taken HOURS to film. Jinger was surprised for hours??

    3. Thursday the 14th of July, there was a wicked 3/4pm-ish storm that drenched the city til it moved on. I know because I had to extend my business inside for awhile that day til it stopped, and I have a picture of the storm approaching. I don't really recall the dates of any other afternoon storms, except the 4th of July when there was some on/off stuff, and more after the fireworks. Thought Jeremy said they were going into the city on a Monday, though?

  27. This is the best episode of the season. Jam-packed with lots of fun and suspenseful moments. Finally something worth watching! It was so sweet to see Jeremy - he is by far my favorite in-law so far. He has personality and humor and doesn't sound as scripted on camera as everyone else. You can tell he's been out in society and has learned to respond to people and the public. Grandpa Vuolo and Jeremy's friend Luis were by far the best characters! I loved their wit personality. I really hope this marriage will be different and they will be able to live on their own without dependence and reliance on Jim Bob and his decisions. It's now up to Jeremy AND Jinger to make their own decisions as one. I feel sorry, too, that they couldn't at least kiss on this special moment. I mean, it's not like there weren't enough people around to keep them "accountable." Anyway, it was a good episode and I was happy to see this relationship finally take the next step!

  28. Little confused as I didn't see the show...why did Jeremy give the ring to his friend Luis? I thought the photographer's name was James? When did Luis give the ring back to Jeremy??? Lost!

    1. Jeremy was worried that Jinger would come across the ring before the big moment or would see the bulge of the box in his pocket all day. So he gave the ring to Luis (in front of their son, who could have spilled the beans!), and then Luis brought it to the hotel in NYC before they left to go to get pix taken.

    2. Jeremy gave the ring to Luis because he was going to come into the city just before the proposal to eat dinner with them. Jeremy did not want to carry the ring around in his pocket while in New York as he was worried about it being lost or it being discovered. Luis came to Jeremy's hotel room, quite comically I'll add, and gave him the ring just before they left for the rooftop engagement spot.

      I hope this helps,
      God Bless

  29. I am genuinely happy for Jinger and Jeremy! Jeremy's family seemed so down to earth and loving. It was fun to see Jinger interact with his grandmother, be with Jeremy's friends and see the city through his eyes! This was the best episode of Counting On!

    1. Jinger got only a tourist's eye view of the city. I don't think she would like living there. You have to be toughened, and not be naive at all. You have to be used to people yelling at each other on the streets. You have to be on the lookout for trouble, day and night. If they thought Central America was dangerous, whoooo, try New York City! I don't think Jinger has learned any "street smarts" in Arkansas.

    2. So true about New York City. When it's good, it's great, but things can and do go wrong on the streets very quickly. You don't even want to know the crazy things I've witnessed over the years. I can't imagine Jinger or her siblings living in this environment.

  30. Jessa and her story line are fast becoming the bright light to the Counting On series! Everyone and everything else seems boring.

    1. But it was crazy that they thought they could build an entire second season around ONE event.

  32. If Jeremy is only part Italian, I wonder what the other parts are. He has a very international look.

    1. I'm am half Italian, but myself and most of my family look 100%, so sometimes the darker nationality is more dominant, especially if it's on the male side.

  34. Anonymous 10/13 @12:34: I think the Vuolos are Sicilian. Yes, Jeremy does have a darker complexion and I believe he looks a bit middle eastern, rather than Italian, to me, and I am Italian...full Italian. I'd like to know what the other "parts" are too.

    1. His features do look a bit Middle Eastern to me, as well.

  35. I’m very late to this party!

This episode felt like home, I can’t express it any other way. It was an organic episode like they were on 19 kids. You asked us a few days ago about how we would edit the show if we had the choice and this is it for me.

Grandma Voulo made me cry, she was such a sweet lady and she reminded me of my late great grandmother, I miss her so much. She brought that loving figure back into this show that we lost when Mr. and Mrs. Duggar pretty much got the boot. Couch time interviews in this episode seemed much more natural, none of the silly questions that didn’t need to be asked. I thought John david talking about honey-do lists was funny and it must be true by this point. I’m glad they went back and did the home update again, it really showcased them working as a family unit again which I’ve missed. Not to mention I can’t complain about seeing more of Jana’s projects, even though we don’t see a lot of her, we seem to be getting a more rounded picture of who she is. I was glad to see Jeremy’s friends were good down to earth people with families. And I’m sure that I’m missing something from this episode, it seemed like it had a lot in it this time around. The engagement was really special, I’m glad Jinger was surprised. What more could you ask for than a beautiful rainbow in the evening sky, that was none other than God’s doing.

I really enjoyed this episode and I hope next week's follows the same design, I just wish there weren’t so many previews, it would be nice to be surprised once and awhile, but I can be content with what we are given. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great week and has a great weekend.

    God bless yall.

  37. Jessa couldn't cook when she got married and Jinger says she can't cook either. What is going on in the Duggar house? You'd think that with that many kids and a stay-at-home mom, every child old enough to hold a spoon would be taught how to cook, or learn by watching the others cook. Do they eat nothing but frozen food and restaurant meals? Doesn't Michelle want her kids to know how to prepare meals from scratch? Those Duggar girls sure do giggle about not knowing how to cook. I hope Grandma Vuolo teaches Jinger some more about Italian food. Grandma sounds like she has common sense! Love that she was wearing pants. You go, Grandma!

    1. The Duggar girls are all quite modest about their skills. From older episodes it was demonstrated that Jana and Jill had a love for cooking if I recall correctly. So while they might not all be proficient cooks, I'm sure they know more than what they let on.

      God bless

    2. I heard Jinger say she did not know how to cook Italian. I agree with Texas because Ben said Jessa was a good cook from the beginning.
