A couple weeks ago, we posted photos from a fan named Taylor, who attended Trace and Carlin Bates' graduation party. One of our readers asked us to request that Taylor write a commentary about meeting the Duggars. Scroll down to read what she sent us...
(Click here for pictures and commentary of Taylor's encounter with the Bates family.)
I talked to Jessa Seewald and Jana Duggar for a second, really just asking if I could get a picture with them. I wanted a picture with Jinger Duggar but she was FaceTime-ing someone.
I got a picture with Lawson Bates and Joseph Duggar because they were both talking when I went to get a picture with them. When I was talking to Lawson, Joseph was just standing there and listening, and I then asked Joseph how he was doing, and he said he was doing great. I definitely noticed that the Duggar family is more on the shy side, where the Bates just run up to you and could talk to you for hours.
My mom and I were stuck in traffic Sunday morning on our way to the church, so we were a little late. When we walked into the church, the usher took us to our seats, and we sat right in front of Joseph Duggar and right behind Jinger Duggar and James Duggar.
I saw Jim Bob, and I grabbed my mom's arm and whispered to her "Jim Bob is here! I wonder if Michelle is here?" not too long after I said that, Michelle came and sat by Jim Bob, and I started shaking and almost started crying. My mom and I (and my family) have always been such HUGE fans.
When the service, was over we needed to get back to Michigan, but I told mom that I HAD to meet Michelle! We went to talk to her, and of course she was such a sweetheart, and we told her how we are HUGE fans and that we have been praying for her and her family. I was a little teary eyed talking to her because I have seriously always wanted to meet her. She told us that she and the family have definitely felt those prayers, and she is just like how you see her on TV. Such a kind and loving person!
I will say that I regret not talking to Anna Duggar. I was just nervous, and I kept thinking, 'What if I say something wrong?' I definitely regret it and wish I would have talked to her and Josh Duggar, but I let my nerves get the best of me.

The real story here is who Jinger was facetiming on a Sunday.....
ReplyDeleteThe hand placement on Lawson?????
ReplyDeleteHehe, that was my first thought too.. but I think either it's at belt level or just not touching!
DeleteWhat? She just has her arm around him. I think it's totally ok.
DeleteIt looks like her hand is on a chain or something.
Deletejosephs hand placement on her?? is there something we need to know??
Deletei always respected the duggars because they were very modest and appropriate around girls and i hope that, that isn't changing.
There is nothing wrong with hand placement in this picture. Their hands are on their backs, and there's plenty of space between them.
DeleteThat's funny! I don't think there's anything wrong with all the hand-placement in this picture. Their hands are on each other's lower back, which isn't wrong or strange... Plus Joseph seems like a very shy kind of person, so I don't think he would do inappropriate stuff.
DeleteI think you are misinterpreting the picture. It looks clear to me that his hand is on her lower back. It is about where I place my hand when I take pictures and where othere place their hands when they take pictures with me. The alternative is to be stiff with arms at your side, arms resting on sholders, side hug,or hand on sholders. I find hand on the back to be the least awkward and how must prefer to do pictures
DeleteAre y'all kidding!!! Can't you just enjoy the post for what it is without reading so much into it, GOOD GRIEF REALLY! OH, NO their is a piece of arm hair out of place, what to do, thats about how ridiculous all the minute nitpicking sounds, think about it and now dont y'all feel petty?
DeleteIts a bit of an awkward photo, but I really think the hand placements were not intentional.
DeleteReally? I doubt either of them is touching her in an immodest way. When someone steps between you to get a pic and reaches behind you to pull everyone into frame, this is what you get. I'm not a Duggars Fan but there are more worthy aspects of their behavior to worry about.
DeleteSo incredibly ridiculous. Over analyzing hand placement? And..trying desperately to make it into something tawdry?? Talk about sexualizing everything you see...now that's an addiction.
Delete♥
ReplyDeleteThank you Taylor for sharing your photos and thoughts. You are a kind, lovely, and generous person, too! I understand your hesitation, I would have felt the same way like you.
ReplyDeleteI think I would fit in better with the Duggars because they are quieter. The Bates might be a little too rowdy for me, but I'd still love to meet them lol
ReplyDeleteInspired, duggars by your love and commitment to Jesus.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Joseph get engaged to Tori Bates? I'm so happy and excited for them.
ReplyDeleteO for pitty sakes. People can think of more things to be critical of. There is nothing wrong with the picture, or their intentions.
ReplyDeleteIt was rude of Jinger Duggar to be FaceTime-ing someone during a party with guests. It's a typical teenager thing, spending time on their phones instead of engaging with guests. But it's still very rude. People say she is courting, so Jinger must have been FaceTime-ing her new beau.
ReplyDeleteDon't judge. You don't know the situation. Perhaps someone was in a time of critical need.
DeleteHunger isn't a teenager. She's 21. Rude is rude no matter the age.
DeleteDon't you wish this family had names that didn't auto-correct so strangely? That feature comes up with some real substitution zingers!
DeleteNice to actually meet the Duggars! Iam happy for you Taylor!
ReplyDeleteI think it was innocent hand placement!
ReplyDeletePhotos are lovely. Glad you had a good visit!
I love the Duggar family and their strong Christian values; Love for God is at the fore front of their lives. The enemy is a prowling lion always seeking to distroy, and undermind God's love and forgiveness for all. I admire THE DUGGAR'S COURAGE FOR NOT THROWING STONEs.. greeving in their time, and most importantly forgive and be forgiven by the heavenly father, less he too turn away because of your unbelief.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love the Bates Family too,God Bless you all keep praying and fasting for your children, and your children's children. AMEN
I'm so glad she was able to meet the Duggars and Bates! What an honor!
ReplyDeleteSeriously??? 2 comments, and they're from judgmental people that have nothing better to do than pick apart innocent hand placement in photos. And THAT is the kind of garbage that gives Christians a bad name. Absolutely ridiculous and SHAMEFUL.
ReplyDeleteAmen, sista!
DeleteAnand I'm clapping very loud at this moment...so very very true🤗
DeleteI wish I could meet Michelle I heard she is the nicest person
ReplyDeletewhat is the point of this? is this girl in a courtship with John david? seem like it was the greatest honor to seek the family out? seem like she was stalking them?
ReplyDeleteShe is describing a party where the Bates specifically invited their fans. People all over the world go out of their way to meet celebrities and are thrilled / nervous when they actually get to talk to the celebrity. As tv reality stars, the Duggars and Bates are celebrities. I find nothing strange about her descriptions and I don't see how she could be courting John David as she obviously had never met any of them before.
DeleteUm, no... Calm down.
DeleteThere has been a huge add blocking the screen for a few days now, anyone else have the same problem?
ReplyDeleteNow there are tons of ads and only a few inches of the blog:(
DeleteIt's only on this site. When I go to Nashville Wife it's fine. ???
One of those guys should start courting her soon! (Am I just stating the obvious?)
ReplyDeleteYou guys need to relax! It's the 21st century for goodness sakes. They're not doing anything wrong.
