More From Jessa...

Ben Seewald practices for fatherhood by rocking niece Meredith Duggar to sleep

Baby Seewald (aka Quincy) is due in just two-and-a-half weeks. We have a few more responses to share from the interview we did with Jessa in September.

We know what a wonderful mother your mom is, but what are some traits/parenting techniques you have seen in Ben's mom that you hope to live out?
Jessa: It is so amazing to see the many similarities between Ben’s mom and mine. Both are such genuinely sweet women of God. I have observed how Ben’s mom speaks so sweetly to her children, asks them questions about things, and listens intently as they tell their stories. It’s precious! She handles kids misbehaving so patiently, taking them aside and communicating directly to their little hearts. Many people have told me that Mrs. Guinn reminds them of my mom. Both are amazing role models for me, and I look up to them with the highest admiration.

What’s your favorite verse for difficult times?
Jessa: Probably one of my favorite verses in difficult times is Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to His purpose.” It is a great reminder that, as Christians, no matter what we go through, God is with us, and He can bring us out stronger on the other side. He specializes in taking a miserable lump of clay and creating out of it a beautiful vessel for His glory.

We see so many stories in the Bible of people like Esther and Joseph, how God worked through their challenging situations and brought about a greater good than they ever could have imagined. God can bring beauty from ashes. He delights in showing Himself strong! When we turn to God through tough times, He is always there for us. And often, as we grow and learn through things, He may allow us in the future to come alongside and support someone else who is walking through a similar situation.

    2. When the baby is born also I love the name Quincy. Also people who think the baby is a boy ( I think it's a girl ) because of the name, Quincy is a unisex name.

  2. Jessa, you surprise me with your "newly gained" mommy knowledge. You and Ben will be GREAT parents. Maybe someday you can pass that Godly knowledge down to Quincy as well the rest of the baby's siblings. ^_^

  6. I just wanted to tell you thank you for being so open about your faith. We are nothing without God. I just happen to read this section of the blog today. The verse in Romans you shared, is the reminder I needed today. May the Lord bless you and your hubby, as you soon welcome in this blessing from the Lord. I will be praying that all goes well!

  8. I really like how Michelle did the same thing durin the show. I remember when she pulled Josie aside when the children were arguing who gets to play on the bouncy ball. That stuck in my head the very first time I saw it. Michelle pulled her to te side and talked to Josie with a calm voice and telling her what to do. I would like to be like her when I am gown, get married and have children. My time will come soon and I can't wait until Jessa gives birth. I say it's a girl. Girl power!!! If its a girl she should be called esther or Isabella or Amanda. If its a boy he should be called Daniel or Samuel

    1. We are not entitled to updates. The rest of the Duggars may simply be choosing to remain private at this time.

    2. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. If you don't like it you can go to a other blog but please don't be rude.

  12. Ben and Jessa are going to make great parents! Sending love and prayers for a healthy and safe delivery for Ben and Jessa! I am so grateful for all the wonderful pictures of your family that you share with us. I can't wait to see the upcoming TLC specials featuring your family. I would like to see all the Duggars again on tv permanently. You all are a loving Christian family and have inspired me to be what I am today. May God bless all of you, and know that you are loved and supported by many.

    1. I believe Jessa will deliver her own baby, as all of us women who have had children are the only ones who actually do the work of delivering the child. I do assume Jill will be assisting.

  15. So, what "unforeseen circumstance" would have Jessa cancel her appearance in Jacksonville? Did she have the baby already and are they keeping it a secret like they did with Meredith? What gives? Has this child been born?

  16. It's great that Jessa's trying to find her way and finding about things on her own.

  17. Annon 19...Jill didn't deliver her own baby...she had a C section!!

  18. @Anonymous Anon #23--I realize Jill had a C-section, and therefore required the help of highly skilled professionals to assist with the delivery. The original question asked if Jill would be delivering Jessa's baby? If Jessa ia successful with a planned home delivery she in fact will be the one to deliver her own child. If, however, she also will require a C-section she would then also require highly educated trained medical professionals in which Jill is not skilled.
