Ask Jessa

With Jessa Seewald's due date less than seven weeks away, we will be chatting with her later this week about how she and Ben are preparing for parenthood. What questions do you have for the young couple as they start their family? They are keeping the baby's gender under wraps for the time being, but they have announced that Jessa is not carrying twins.

Jessa and Ben Seewald on 4th of July

    2. Seriously???
Maybe our God put humans with a "cruel, life limiting disability" here as a teaching tool. Maybe to learn compassion, understanding, perseverance....I could go on and on.

  29. I think its wonderful that they kept the sex of the baby to themselves, it would have even been better if they waited to find out at birth....it seems mothers these days are so impatient, I can see if it was for financial reasons, but that is not their case...to each is own I guess. It must run in the family as all the Duggar girls like to know ahead.I hope a future Duggar daughter will change that tradition just once, it can be so exciting to wait. No,please don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing them at all,so please don't take it that way...blessings for sure😇

  65. Who is better at getting less sleep, Jessa or Ben? Have they discussed ways to prepare getting through the first months and the drain it can have on your mood and marriage? Is Ben prepared for being placed 2nd to the child for the 1st year? How is Jessa preparing herself for that difficult time when she's being pulled in 2 directions?

None of these are meant to be rude. I'm a mom of 4 babies in a row. The last had extreme colic for 15 months and my relationship with hubby was tested in ways I couldn't have fathomed! If our last had been our first, I can't say we'd be together today. The sleep deprivation and need to care for 3 other little ones ultimately led to a suicide attempt on my part!! Motherhood is not easy and it would have helped to have had someone prepare me for so I didn't suffer inside alone. I had no idea sleep deprivation could bring a mom to such a dark place. All is well today, praises to God!! Just be gentle on yourself Jessa!!

  101. Hi, all the best with the pregnancy! Jessa are you planning to have your children very close to your other siblings particularly the youngest ones, or do you believe that as their Uncles and Aunties they need some respect. Also would you teach your children to call them Aunty Josie, etc from a young age or do you believe that it would be ok for them to just call them Josie, Jordyn etc. God Bless you all.

  102. From the way that you are carrying the baby I would say that it is a girl. I am pretty good at guessing. Like 90% odds I pick the right gender. LOL. Question: Do you plan on making a video of the birth for your own memories, as I know that you were disappointed that you could not do that with the TV film crew this year? What 3 systems that your Mom set up in her home that you will adopt in yours that you like?

  104. Jessa, I know modesty has always been of paramount importance to you. You don't show your knees or shoulders, etc. My question is: How do the tight t-shirts you are wearing now fit into those modesty standards? I have noticed that others with your beliefs, such as Whitney Bates, also wear the tight t-shirts while pregnant, and I wondered if there different standards for modesty during pregnancy according to your beliefs? This is an honest question and I have been wondering about, and I hope it's published because I don't believe it's profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste. It's certainly not meant to be negative. I really want to understand.

    1. I'm not JESSA, but I have the same standards as far as dress goes. I have had four children and I believe it's important to make sure your clothes are not form fitting even during pregnancy. You can show off your growing stomach without tight clothes. Even after the birth, it's important to wear clothes that fit properly.

There are many children in the foster care system that could use a stable family. I'm wondering if Jessa has any plans about how she might fit into supporting Ben's goal of ministry in the future? It seems she quite the organizer of people, schooling, finances and anything else she applies herself to. Does Jess see a role for herself in that kind of work/ministry beyond her own home? Even though I'm sure she will be plenty busy there!
