Duggars Break the Silence

Next week, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will join Megyn Kelly on Fox News to discuss the heartbreaking situation involving Josh Duggar that their family went through 12 years ago.

The first part of the interview will air Wednesday at 9pm ET during The Kelly File. The second segment, which will feature footage from an interview at the Duggars' house, will air Friday at 9pm ET during a one-hour special of The Kelly File.

    1. If the Duggar want to do the right thing I suggest they donate any money they receive for these interviews to a non profit organization that serves and, assists victims of child sexually abuse. How about it Mr and,Mrs Duggar?

    2. Prayers to your family and hope your show stays on the air! It's such an inspiring show and so many other shows are full of sin! I pray for good things to come your way! God bless you all and thanks to your wonderful family giving us hope!!!

    4. Honestly I was very surprised by the news of this mistake that was made 12 years ago although it was not right they took the right steps and obviously it changed josh and made him a better person. This has gone way to far there have been alot of people and news sources who have been on a witch hunt to find something against this family who are godly and good and have there own brliegs as they should have the right as everyone else has that right too I hope by them doing this interview it shuts down all of the negative press. Please don't take away one of the shows I can let my children watch as it is one of my favorites I want them to have good role models in this very dark world that are good and although I.made mistakes when I was younger I don't want my children making those same mistakes something neefs to be done to save this show and to help this family to get over something they went through years ago and had already moved on with all there lives god bless the duggars!

    5. Half of the players in the NFL are criminals and there is no chance that's being pulled off the air. Our society can look past pretty much anything for professional sports because what would people do if they didn't have it to enjoy? 19 kids is entertainment too, which many people/families love- if muderers and wife beaters can be on prime time, the duggars can stay on TLC.

    8. Mark. I believe they have already done the right thing. I don't think it is any of our business what they do with their money. Did anyone ask Rihanna what she did with all of her money when Chris Brown beat her up.? Or vice versa? No one seems to ask these questions about other celebrity.

Josh we love you we all have done things we are ashamed of in life remember God is the glory and the lifter of your head and we are to give God thanks in all things just give thanks with all your heart to God and God will help. Love You all God Bless Laura

    10. Mark, They will need the money because it will be very hard for them to get jobs following these revelations.....if you own a small business, it's your good reputation that makes people want to do business with you. If you interview to work for someone your reputation proceeds you. Will there be enough people to do business with or hire the family members....especially the men???

  5. I support the duggars, and believe in forgiveness, where would we all be without God's mercy and forgiveness. we all make foolish choices at 14, but not everyone owns up to them like josh has. I hope and pray their show, 19 kids and counting, stays on the air. it's the only show worth watching on television.

  6. May God lead their words as they break their silence and explain to this fallen world what happened. We all receive new mercies each day, may the public that is sin free cast the first stone. The Duggars are an amazing family.

  9. Every family has problems. And with 19 kids, I'm sure you have more than most of us. To take your son to the police had to be one of the hardest things you've probably ever done. That took courage and character. I hope TLC brings your show back. You are an inspiration to so many and the world could learn a lot by watching. Praying for your family.

  12. It has saddened me to see how people will jump in that were not there and become so judgmental and mean. I pray for your family and wish this had stayed a private matter. It would be one thing if those that felt victimized came forward feeling that they weren't appropriately apoligized to but they are the only ones who have a voice that should be heard. Josh and Anna, you are good people who have been forced to walk with wolves, they are the ones that should atone now. I just can't imagine how I would have handled it as we are imperfect people.

  19. Praying for the Duggars. They are, despite what happened a wonderful Christian family who have influenced millions in positive ways. They should not be punished for any sins of their son, and who is repentant and has moved on to live a life of integrity. They also should not be judged or punished for how they handled the situation when it happened. They did what they felt would help their son best. Praying for healing and blessings. God will turn this around, they have nothing to fear, and He will bring victory and things greater out of this situation, that I am sure of!

What happen is a horrible thing but I don't think TLC should have taken the show off the air . To me taking off the segments with Josh and Anna off the air until everything clears up . Megyn is a very good reporter and she will do a good job in getting everything out in the open . God Bless the Duggars .

  36. God forgives us for our many sins I think we should be forgiving too. I know that God has forgiven Josh TLC you have many many people that watch this show you know that or they would have been taken off the air long ago, 12 years after this happened is a little late I think.Josh told Anna and her family about it before they were married I believe this should be left in the pass

  37. America NEEDS more programs like your's, Duggars! You truly live your faith, demonstrating how to overcome extremely difficult times in your lives. You teach your children to  serve others, be productive, self sufficient citizens, showing compassion for those less fortunate. Jim Bob and Michelle are exemplary models of marriage and parenting. There are WAY too many other programs that portray society's acceptance of selfishness, rudeness, impropriety, emotional and physical harm to others. I dare say there aren't too many of us that have not done things in our teens we deeply regret.

  45. I really believe that God will use this hard time to show that God Does indeed forgive! Josh was 14 should have known better but he also had guts to tell his father the truth.. He knew He had to face those Consequences..This family truly tries to live for God!! A Family that prays together stays together!

  46. To Jim-Bob, Michelle, and the kids,
What you are going through right now is not easy, but we have been praying for you and we hope that once this is addressed and some time passed that we will be able to see you on television again spreading your messages of love, God, and family to America. We are standing with you and your family in support that you have every right to do what is best for you. Despite everything, we still love you and what you stand for. Everyone makes mistakes, but there is forgiveness in the world and in God's teachings. I know people are using this to tarnish your reputation and lifestyle, but God will always prevail in the end. We are thinking of you in this time of need and will continue to support you and your family's practices in the future.

  47. I am a Christian. Forgiveness is between Josh and God. That said, molestation of siblings is NOT a normal part of adolescence. TLC is right to step aside and let the Duggars deal with their issues. The show should stay off the air.

  54. Dear Duggars. I've had such incidences happen in my own family (both as a child and an adult). I believe you handled it the best way you knew how and I'm ashamed at the people out there that can only see what they want to and not take into consideration the sensitivities and individual needs of EVERY family and EVERY individual in EACH family. I'm even more saddened that you feel the need to air yourself and your children's private lives and additional emotional turmoil to others who continue to bash you, when unless in the exact same situation and the exact same family personalities and needs, have NO way of truly knowing how they would handle it. HUGS and MANY prayers!! Keep on marching On in HIS guidance and truth!

  62. As humans we all make mistakes and we all sin. Never once have I ever heard any of the Duggar say that they are perfect or sinless. I will never understand why people feel if necessary to find something in someone's past that has already been dealt with and drag it up. Does it make you feel better to hurt someone else. Who made you God and gave you the right to judge someone else. I for one will quit watching TLC if the do decide to completely drop the show. I am praying for the family as they endure this issue once again.

  64. I support the Duggers everyone makes mistakes one time in life. But it is not up to us to pass judgment he asked God to forgive him and the people he hurt. He was a child they do things that don't make sense his family put their faith in God to carry them through this trying time. I don't like the fact that they were taken off the air. I like TLC but this makes no sense.

  65. I miss you all very much.. what Josh did was wrong.. but he was only a child when he did these things.. He is a grown man now and has been forgiven by all involved.. If every family was as great as your families are this world would be a better place.. I am praying for you all.. I was moliested as a child by different adults in my family .. they were adults.. there is a difference!!..Josh should not be held liabile for something now that he did when he was a child.. Those documents from the past should of never of been made public.. I think someone whomever opened them up should be sued!.. I Love you all.. and that includes Josh.. and I am praying for you all..

  66. Yes, prayers for the Duggar family are said daily. I wish the world would remember what Jesus said, "Those that are without sin, cast the first stone." Everyone in this life has made mistakes, some horrific; but we do serve a loving and forgiving God. No one has the right to judge another; only our Father in Heaven is the judge. I pray that Josh gets the help he needs or has already received the help; so he can lead a happy, fulfilled life with his family.

  67. God does forgive and we should try and do the same. At the same time, this family chose to put their family in the public eye and not be forthcoming about their past. No you would never want to put your child in such a position but by portraying Christians, I think they should have been honest from the get go and shown how God have changed Josh's heart. I just worry the girls in this situation were not given the proper attention nor was Josh punished or given treatment for his perversions.

  68. Praying for the entire family. But God in His infinite mercy will give grace to face this also. We can't see "the big picture" but our Heavenly Father can. It's hard to believe Roman 8:28 could be true in this circumstance & at this difficult time, but He has promised it is for the good of His children. Just wait & see what the Lord has planned! He hasn't forsaken you, nor have your friends & viewers.

  80. I support the Duggars and pray that the Lord will give them the words to speak and the audience the ears to hear their heart and that the eyes of the audiences understanding be opened up to understand the height, depth, width and depth of Christ love for us when HE hung on that cross for our transgressions. Jesus paid the price for the forgiveness of our sins, and had He not, then we would all be doomed for hell. It hurts my heart to hear all the negative opinions coming from people especially those who profess to be christians, cause if they really were christians, they would understand that when we ask forgiveness that our sins are cast as far as the east is from the west and remembered no more. Problem is, people will remind you, persecute you, and judge you, when God alone should be the only judge. I pray TLC will see that as a true christian, one who understands what it is to know that the old man has passed away and being born again unto righteousness really will take this into consideration and see that the Josh that did those things is dead already. Josh asked for forgiveness and he received it also. You know what the greatest thing about this is that Josh understands that he is not the person he used to be. None of us are if you confess you are a child of God. I wonder how many of the audience out there have things in their own lives that has been covered under the Blood of Jesus and would rather that our past be just that, our past. This should have never been brought out, but since it was, I know that the Lord will give the Duggars the strength and courage and what the devil meant for evil to try to destroy this family, will be turned around for their good. Maybe this will help someone else see that no matter how bad a sin you may commit, God can and will forgive you if you ask it of Him. I love the Duggars and pray for them daily.

I am voting for u all and hope the tlc channel will put u all on tv again . its just not the same. like it says people shouldn't judges other and there shall be forgiveness. everyone makes mistakes.and no one is every perfect

  102. I am so glad that the Duggars are given this chance. TLC, you did a lot for this family and now you are denying them. You do realize they have done a lot for you and your ratings over the years. Not to mention the sponsors. I pray for God's perfect outcome in this situation.

  103. It comes down to when you make a mistake is redemption possible? Those who believe in that will forgive those who don't will not. I'm looking forward to hear what the Duggars have to say.

  104. Dear Duggar family, I am praying daily for you all. Praying for strength, encouragement, protection and for God to prevail in this situation. God is on your side, who can stand against you! God Bless you all!!!

  105. Regardless of what happens after this interview, only God knows. Some people don't like Fox news bit the reality is, it's the only channel that seeks to stick to the facts, do proper interviews and not push the far left ideology most networks do. I'm praying for the Duggars and hope they come back on, that includes Josh. I've said it before that he is a fine example of a Godly Man and influence to a young man like me. So is Ben, and Derrick, and yes even Jim Bob. A genuine Christian will want to learn from someone who is a Solid unapologetic, Sincere Brother or A sister in Christ no matter if they are in the public eye or not.

  109. Bring the Duggars back TLC I will not watch your channel anymore if they are cancelled. You have all kinds of garbage on Tv and for you to take a show off the air because of something that happened 12 yrs ago is ridiculous. He was a child himself ,Yes he was wrong in more than one way, God is our judge not man. I'm sure their are other so called stars that have made mistakes and done things they are not proud of its about forgiveness and love the world needs more forgiveness and love in it. Bring back the Duggars TLC its wrong what you are doing!!!!!

  110. I love the duggar family and miss there showand needs to be put back on the air so we can watch it again I miss Jessa and Ben and Jill and derrick and the baby

  111. Prayers for you all. You have a lot of people who are praying for you and the power of prayer is amazing. God bless you all.

  112. @Mark Elliott Agreed. They are no doubt being paid handsomely for their interview. I am still bothered by the fact that Josh won't sit down and plainly speak about what he did and how he and his family became closer to God and stronger as a result. We know what Jim Bob and Michelle did, but I want Josh to give us his testament.

    1. I wonder what they can really say that won't just be pouring gasoline on the fire... the comets on the news media sites are merciless! People seem to have a pretty good idea what they are going to say and have already made up their minds against the Duggars....

    2. It would be good to hear it straight from him....but who would grant him a fair interview?

  113. Prayers and love. We believe in you. He was a child. God is a gracious God. He is a forgiving God. The evil one is attaching your family through this stupidity.

  114. Duggar family, I am praying for God's will for your situation and that He will surround you all with His peace, love and grace.

  115. We can forgive Josh and his parents all we want, but that doesn't mean this was handled properly, especially by a family who thrust themselves into being public figures. Did Josh receive treatment from a qualified professional? Did his victims receive counseling from a qualified professional? I am praying that is those things have not already happened, then they will soon. I hope my comments are posted, as I have tried to be respectful in voicing my opinions.

  116. ALL MY PRAYS ARE WITH YOUR WHOLE FAMILY. AND MY GOD TOUCH OTHERS WHO SPEAK WITH HATRED AND I ASK GOD TO TOUCH ALL THEIRS AS YOUR FAMILY GOES THROUGH THIS WHOLE ORDEAL.

  117. THANK YOU Lord. I'm so glad they are doing this. I knew they would want the world to hear their side. I thought it would be weeks or months. I'm sure the family is hurt at TLC and sponsors . I would never use those commericals again. But I'm glad their using the news media to show people their not selling their story for thousands of dollar. God Bless

  118. I want to see a balanced interview with all questions answered. Why won't Josh sit down for interview

    ReplyDelete
  119. I love your family! Everyone has made mistakes in their life. Not a reason to "poo poo" you. Keep doing what you know and love! I will always support you for that:) I only wish I knew sooner about why courtship is the "way". Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

  120. I am praying for your family! God is faithful!

  121. Although we don't have cable TV, I will find a way to watch this two-part interview. I am relieved that the family will finally speak out and hopefully help clear some of the misinformation floating around by the media.

  123. Hardly a day passes that you're not in my thoughts and prayers. I've come to love your family & I delight in your program. I'm heartsick to see how you're being treated on so many media fronts; and by those who seem to think they're entitled to taunts. Sad. I am grateful you'll have this opportunity to speak on behalf of your family. I pray God uses the whole of this chapter for your joy and His glory. You know He will!

    Blessings,
    Kathleen

  124. I won't be watching TLC until the Duggars are back on. Apparently no one that works for TLC ever made a mistake when they were teenagers, or even as adults. They think that they are all perfect and can judge others. But IF their lives were broadcast everywhere, THEY would sure want forgiveness and mercy.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Praying for wisdom for the Duggars as they face the public and make plans for the future.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Children have a right to privacy and not have their transgressions all over the media. If TLC doesn't put them back on the air, I will boycott all their TV stations and advertisers. As to the rest of you, mind you business/

  129. We all sin and come short of the glory of God. But, because of his love to the world, he forgives and restores lives. He who has no sin, throw out the first stone.

  130. Praying for your family the devil is fighting so hard. All families have skeletons. My son was on the receiving side and God helped us thru. He will help you all thru it. It's hard to go thru but until all these people that are negative deal with it and also understand God's love and forgiveness they will never understand and the devil is going to use it. God bless you all.

  131. Stay strong Duggar family. how many times I have lived by the saying that God will not give you any more than you can handle and how true that has always been. I love the show and your family and yes Josh did some things he shouldn't have but he has admitted his shame and asked forgiveness. Just leave it along now

    ReplyDelete
  132. They should grant you an interview.....to be read right here. :)

    ReplyDelete
  133. I think that this whole ordeal has been blown way out of proportion. Yes, it was wrong and yes it never should have happened but that doesn't mean that this is something the whole world should know. Josh sought out forgiveness and was given it, therefore I don't think this even deserves to be talked about anymore. It happened 12 years ago! You know how many things like this are happening TODAY? How many "famous" people are doing stuff just as bad or worse? I find it sad that people have to judge the Duggars so harshly! I will be severely dissapointed if TLC cancels 19 Kids. I am praying for them! Stay strong, Duggars! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  134. My family including my grand children all love you guys! Everyone has something, who are we to judge? Please realize there are many many people praying for you all!

  135. I am glad the Duggars are going to speak. Hopefully it will clear up anything that got twisted in the media. I pray for the Duggars that they can use this matter to strengthen them. I miss seeing them on TV. I have been watching them since 2008, it has been fun to see the kids grow up and some get married and now the grandchildren are being born. Keep your heads high and just know you still have a big fan base that wants to see your family on TV and cares about you. I hope TLC will keep your show on the air and if not hopefully someone else will pick it up. I also hope that Josh and his family can be filmed as it seems like he has changed for the good, being a loving husband and loving father this is where forgiveness comes in.

  136. Prayers for all of you. To quote from my favorite movie "The past is in the past, Let it go!" Which is what everyone should do. God forgave Josh and that's all that matters in the end anyway.

  137. As a female child who was abused by a family member myself, I couldn't agree with you more Mr. Elliott. I see so much concern for your son, and little to none for your daughters. That really bothers me.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I will be praying for you as interview with fox news. Forgiveness and moving forward is hard for people to understand and I believe can only be understood and experienced with the love of Jesus in your life. My heart has been broken for all of you since this news was exposed. I too have had a similar incident with a family member. I have been through all the emotions and have even had people that will no longer have anything to do with me because of what someone in my family did. God's love is so much bigger than all that. I know He is with you and I know that your family has Him in your lives. Praying you will have perfect peace with your interview. Blessings, a wife, mom and grandma.

  139. God bless the Duggar family and same on whoever dug all this heartache

  140. Glad to hear about the interview. Hoping they will share that the victims received what they needed. This is not only about Josh, this is about the victims too.

  141. Years ago there we no "Qualified Professionals & yet we all grew up just fine & went the straight & narrow way. They did the best they could in a difficult situation & if they felt this was what God wanted them to do who are we to judge them or any one else... Just because his sin is different than our sins? I know from God's word that is not the way He would forgive.... He forgave Moses for killing & used him to do great things..... Moses received no 'Professional" Help just God's help!! It is what we all need now! You have a wonderful family & I am proud of the way all of you try to enrich others lives! God Bless You all, always!

  142. A lot will depend on the content and honesty of the interview answers. I hope it won't be a scripted
interview and that it will be done with dignity for all involved. I will be praying for them this week.

  143. Praying for your family!

  144. @Jan RodriguezI agree that leaving Josh and Anna off might help in the short term.People are out for blood though.I wonder how many were ever abused themselves. You have to forgive,Not forget any time soon. That is the only way to live a halfway normal life.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Could you please post recaps of both? I would love to find out what they say! If not, that's fine thank you for all the hard work you do.

  146. The mass exodus of sponsors forced TLC to pull the plug on reruns .... we can only hope that the network will come up with a compromise that will attract new sponsors and perhaps positively sway those who have pulled their support. I am very happy to hear that Michelle and Jim Bob have decided to do an interview. Silence is not always golden. It is time to reign in the misinformation and negative press. May God bless the entire family during this difficult time.

  147. I too am praying for all involved -- I love the Duggar family - and hope the show is not cancelled, and I thank Fox news for giving the Duggars the opportunity to share, unfortunately those who do not yet know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are blinded to the truth, they do not have eyes to see or ears to hear, hoping with all of my heart that TLC will bring them back this fall ( ...

  150. I also support the Duggar family l and am praying that God gives them the strength to overcome this ordeal. I do not understand why a person of trust can expose a minors transgression with no thought to the harm and sorrow for all the family. It is also sad that Josh after owning up to what he did, getting help and becoming a responsible adult has to endure this situation again many years later. He was a boy who has now become a man and I see no reason to rehash the past. God bless each and everyone of you.

  153. Another off topic......... ONE of my favorite 19 KaC episodes is when Jim Bob and John David made the kids a slip and slide. That looked like so much fun!!

  154. sad that this has come up when Anna is so close to delivering there 4th
child. why can't the media just leave Josh, Anna and the duggar family alone.
Forgiveness is key and I believe that the duggars have dealt with this why did social media
have to put there noses where they don't belong. I will no longer be viewing TLC
until they rehire the Duggar family!!!!!

  155. WE CAN FORGIVE!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Anonymous 86-Define "qualified professional." If you mean secular (non-Christian) counselors, they would not condemn this behavior as sin, which is what caused Josh to confess and put his faith in Jesus Christ. Josh would have been told that his feelings are natural, but need to be kept under control, blah, blah, blah. If we descended from animals, then we are entitled to behave like them and follow our natural instincts (unless man's law says otherwise). There is no wisdom in that. Biblical counseling was the only way, and if you believe the Bible as the Duggars do, then they handled it correctly.

  157. I support the Duggars! We should not judge a family until we have walked in their shoes.
