The past seven days have been a whirlwind for our family. Ellie, coauthor of the blog, got engaged to her Mr. Handsome. At the request of our readers, we would like to share the details.
I (Ellie) work for Mr. Handsome's uncle at a Christian organization. Mr. Handsome arranged for me to fly to Florida last Monday and had my boss tell me that I was going on a work trip to interview someone at a retirement community for missionaries.
My parents, Lily and Mr. Lily, also happened to be in Florida on a business trip, so they picked me up at the airport and took me to a hotel. The next morning, my parents told me that we were going to meet my dad's high school friend for a quick lunch on the beach before I had to leave for my interview at the retirement community. Mr. Handsome popped out of the bushes and said, "Hey, do you want to come over here?" My parents joined his parents on a bench about a hundred yards away. Mr. Handsome read Proverbs 31 and said: "I've been looking for a Proverbs 31 wife all my life, and I've found one. Will you marry me?" I said yes!
After the proposal, we were blessed to be able to spend a couple days in Florida with our parents. I am considering starting a blog about wedding planning and will keep you all posted. :)

ReplyDeleteDear Ellie, Congratulations to you and your awesome Mr Handsome! Thank-you for telling us about your engagement experience! I like the idea of including the Bible verse in the proposal, no confusion there, you must have a really good guy there who will respond in kind. You are probably going to have a great life together if that is what you are both like. Best wishes.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Ellie! Enjoy this fun and exciting time! I was married on June 21st, 2014 (same day as Jill Duggars!..I had my day picked before that though lol) and I still remember it like it was yesterday. My husband made all our wedding decor ourselves so it made the day so much more special. I know you have lots to look into, but maybe take a look at "sola flowers". They are a thin wood flower made from the tapioca tree and are made into many different looking flowers. We went with them instead of real ones so we could keep my bouquet and his boutonniere forever (we have them displayed in our curio cabinet). They are surprisingly much cheaper than real flowers as well, so we ended up making our centerpieces and aisle decor out of them too. Anyways, enjoy this special time and congratulations again to you and Mr. Handsome!
