Duggars Return in 32 Days

Mark your calenders for the season premiere of 19 Kids and Counting, airing Tuesday, September 2, at 9PM ET PT/8PM CT on TLC.

Following Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard's exciting engagement finale on 19 Kids and Counting this spring, the new season picks up with the happy couple planning for their big day. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar start the emotional journey of giving away their first daughter in marriage, as Jill and Derick plan their rapidly approaching nuptials. From dress shopping to cake tasting, it's all hands on deck as the engaged pair prepare to say their "I dos" in front of more than 1,000 of their closest friends and family. But this happy occasion is bittersweet as the family starts to realize what giving away Jill will mean for their close-knit clan.

Also this season, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald continue to grow closer, as their courtship takes an unexpected turn when Ben makes a move to live closer to Jessa. Jim Bob and Michelle celebrate 30 years of marriage as Jill and Derick prepare their new home together with the help of the family. The newly engaged couple also tends to Derick's mom, Cathy, as she bravely battles cancer. And after their first year in Washington, D.C., Josh and Anna Duggar and their three kids decide it may be time to make a few changes in their own growing family.

Leading up to the premiere, catch the Duggars reacting to encore airings of their favorite 19 Kids and Counting episodes as part of TLC's "Dishing with the Duggars." Beginning Monday, August 25, and airing weekdays from 1-3 PM ET PT/12-2 PM CT for three weeks straight, viewers can go back in time with America's favorite supersized family as they laugh together and reminisce about some of their favorite moments, from births and holidays to clothing choices and family vacations.

New episodes of 19 Kids and Counting will air through November. This season, TLC's 19 Kids and Counting will celebrate its 150th episode. Including the five original specials and seasons of 17 Kids and Counting and 18 Kids and Counting, the Duggars have starred in more than 200 episodes.

  2. Let's talk about the new additions to the family, which are Ben and Derick. Derick clearly does not need Duggar money or Duggar TV shows to suipport Jill. Ben clearly does need this income. Clearly, this family has grown in TV ratings. Clearly, we will all see how this all turns out. As an afterthoght, this family condems TV. Huh? How would I even know about this family except for TV?????? Huh?

    1. They consider the TV show as part of their ministry and they do watch TV just not much at all. As far as Ben he has a job and support himself. And as far as Derick and Jill it was expected that once they got married the Duggars would not long supoort them financially not to say they would help out but overall they are doing it on their own which is how it should be. You would probably know all this if you watched the show and listened to what they said rather than jumping to conclusions.

  3. Maybe it's not so much TV, but what's shown on TV. Huh? There is some good & a whole lot of bad. Personally I prefer the good, & the Duggars aren't perfect but at least they're good!

I think what you need to realize is that Derick is out of college and Ben is still in college. And the duggars use tv as a ministry. They just choose not to watch it.

Can't wait for the new season!!!

  14. Re 2 the idea of television is not rejected by the Duggars, they watch it some times. I remember in the book Michelle and Jim Bob wrote they said early in their marriage they had a television and they became slaves to it so they opted to just set it aside because they were dedicated to earning a living and having stronger relationships in their family which was very challenging for them. It is a servant or master idea. Which are we? The television serves people well and we should master it. I think they have mastered it.

  21. The family does not condemn TV. They choose not to have it in their home because the vast majority of the programming shown on TV is incongruent with the Word and does not positively support pursuit of a Godly path in life. I'm grateful they do the show as it creates at least one option of programming that is Godly and might lead some to question and seek to learn more about the Lord.

  22. I am so excited! I love the Duggar family. My mom thinks that I am crazy, but this family is so refreshing to watch. It is a breath of fresh air and really the only T.V. show I watch (other than SOME shows on Food Network-you have to be ever so careful). It is a show where the whole family can watch, even when they give each other smooches (because they are really MARRIED)
Of course as soon as the commercials come on, I turn it off!

Thank you so much Duggar Family for sharing your family and faith in the Lord Jesus with us! It really is a blessing!

  40. The thing that has caught my curiosity is the number of people at the wedding, then the reception at the church interests me and also I wonder about the party at the Duggar house. In some way it just has to be a God that is larger than we think about that we try to put into a box and label - perfect wedding format.

  41. can't wait to see the new season the Jills wedding is what everyone is waiting to watch .... I bet that if Ben and Jessa are engaged they are gonna announce it the week right before 19 kac airs September 2nd .just like they did with Jill's engagement right before this last season that aired. would like to here about more courtship news from the oldest boys and girls

  42. I'm excited to see Jill's house, so far from the few shots she has shown, the kitchen and yard look so nice.
Ben moved closer to the Duggars, which makes courting easier but is he still in college? or did he transfer to be closer to Jessa? I think it will be interesting to see Ben transform from age 18 when he first came on the show to seeing what career he will have and path his life will take. After Josh we don't here much about JD or Joseph, only the Duggar daughters. I'm interested to see how Ben goes from 18 homeschool grad to supporting a wife and family(if he chooses to marry Jessa, which seems likely?).

  43. I always have a strange experience when I look at pictures of Jessa and Ben, I get unable to immediately feel like I think I should feel. I feel odd in my heart and a bit off in the rest of my body. It is such a strange feeling, I don't like it at all. I feel kind of lost like I don't have control to get back to where I want to be in how I feel, like a mouse trying to crawl up the inside of a greased pipe or something, I have lost my grip on feeling right. I have to remember this feeling before I delve into looking at pictures of Jessa and Ben so that I avoid the strange feeling by avoiding looking at anything to do with them. Sorry that is the way it is.

  47. If this family views their show as a ministry, why do they take money (and a sizeable amount) for it? Aren't ministries a dedication and a donation of one's time? If they have balance in their lives, why have they cut out TV altogether? One 13" portable TV locked in the closet does not constitute tolerance of TV. I'm sure they watch nothing other than the prepared DVDs of their own show, with the commercials totally cut out. Not all commercials or programs are evil.

  48. Lily and Ellie, I so appreciate your blog! I have only been watching the duggars for a few months, but have grown to love them. I have a question, do the married couples receive a stipend for appearing on the show? Thank you so much.

  49. Who was listed as the owner of that car lot exactly? Was it Joshua Duggar dba Duggar Automotive, or some "Duggar company" name? Thanks

  51. @

If anyone were watching the show, the first thing Jim Bob said to Derick when he wanted to propose, is how will he support himself and Jill.

Clearly Jim Bob will not be supporting his son in law.

  52. Is Ben going to apologize in thi comming season or are the Duggars going to talk about what Ben did? They should for the catholic viewers who deserve some respect.

    1. I agree... I havent seen or heard any public statement from Ben or the Duggars since Ben's Catholic bashing. I am a Catholic and was hurt by his inconsiderate and incorrect accusations. Nothing was said other than the post was taken down. It makes me feel that Ben is not sorry (and he only took it down because of so much negative feedback) and makes me wonder if the Duggars think the same way as Ben. If so, i will not continue watching and supporting the show

  54. I agree with #58. I'm sick and tired, bordering on disgust, with Jim Bob and Michelle kissing multiple times in each episode. That got old a long time ago, YUCK. Tell them to keep it under wraps. The rest of us aren't interested in their personal relationship,

  57. Re: Anon 52, According to this verse anyone could term their lives as spiritual and a ministry:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
    Romans 12:1

Anonymous 57!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will you PLEASE stop begging for an apology from Ben or the Duggars?? I am a Catholic and after reading what Ben wrote am quite assured that he did not mean to intimidate Catholics nor to start this whole big thing! I don't think he needs to make an open apology although it would be nice. What are you showing about Catholics by begging for an apology? Let it go! He took the statement down and has refrained from saying anymore. He was just stating what he doesn't understand with our faith which is fair enough. Let there be peace!

  62. It's a free country and it's the Duggars' show - they've let Ben express his feelings and that's fine. Besides, he doesn't know any of you Catholic commenters, so I don't think he meant all the Catholics.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I want to say to the catholic readers and viewers of the show. Everyone has different beliefs. While I myself would disagree with yours, I would still respect you as a person. Ben did say some things that were probably hurtful, but when some of you and other Christian readers say hurtful things about Ben, aren't you committing the same sin? My Bible says to turn the other cheek, that is what Christians need to do. The Bible also says that in this life we will have troubles. While this is not a trouble like a tornado or loss of a loved one, it is something that makes some angry. Why are you angry? We are to be slow to anger.

  64. I can't wait for the new season but I'm very concerned for Derick's mom Cathy. I'm keeping her in my prayers.

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Anonymous I don't see anyone begging for an apology. Just simply stating that it would be nice for him to acknowledge the fact that he hurt some people with wrongful accusations. He wasn't just stating what he didn't understand about the faith. He said he will in no way support Catholics and will call them out. Although I don't have all the same beliefs as the Duggars, I have always respected them and supported their beliefs. There is no anger in my comment... just a calm and honest communication of feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous 70: Yes, everyone has different religious beliefs and it is we, the posters and most viewers, who respect those differences. I'm sorry to say that I don't believe at this time, the Duggars respect any one else's religious beliefs and traditions in the least. Their motive is to convert YOU to their belief system, as they think they are the only ones with the "keys to heaven". It's so obvious that they share Ben's opinion of Catholics and Eastern Orthodox rites. They should be reminded that these beliefs and traditions were here first a long time before their were "invented" by other men. Jesus, himself, left us with the Catholic Church,, eastern and western rites alike. So, I'm not a big fan of this family or any other people who are elitists and wish to "educate" the rest of us. They have the right to believe as they do, and so do the rest of us.
