  4. I'm a little tired of this family's belief that they are qualified to do everything and that they are experts in everything. They are NOT the standard bearers that they think they are. This is way over the top and so not humble or modest either. This is just "too much".

    1. They are not qualified to do anything, none of us are. It is by the enabeling and power of Jesus and the Holy Spirit that we can do things. I think this family has been blessed with many opportunities that I think many would use and turn into rotten apples if you will. But they have stayed humble through the years, followed through with their convictions and continue to give all credit to The Lord.

    2. God will move people into positions of power or as we know it sometimes to be "limelight" to fulfil his plans and purposes. Many of the biblical patriarchs (and some matriarchs) give testimony to this. As long as they continue to follow God and walk blameless before him, they are definitely not taking things "over the top" when it had to do with God's affairs and the blessings of God.

No Believer is qualified to do everything, but we ALL are commanded to preach the Gospel and to be obedient to the leading of the Spirit. There are no exceptions to that command. The Holy Spirit will guide each and every Believer to share salvation in their own unique way. I applaud the Duggars for being bold in their decision to follow this command and pray many accept Christ because of it.

  9. Praise the Lord for their dedication and commitment to obey a command that all to many of us do not; preach the Gospel! I have been in large social settings doing the same and it can be rough, but the Lord works in amazing ways!

  10. I think it is excellent of the Duggar family to preach the gospel to all and to make disciples and I look forward to seeing this video. The Duggars are so down to earth, I love them. The way they take on challenges with out having to be labelled 'expert' is WONDERFUL!

  11. I heard this was happening through Ray Comfort's emails but hadn't seen the trailer....can't wait!!!! :) :) :)

I can understand what you are saying, yet sometimes when you or me feel this way it is because we have something to fix in our life ourselves. God tells us not to judge others and that is what I plan to do. I feel this family is very humble and modest in how they carefully choose there words, live there lives and raise there children. I give the Duggars so much credit. I also see God in all of there lives. Deborah

  14. Anon, august 4@ 6:51 am.
Just getting on the box and speaking in public about anything would be scary to a lot of people. And they are just sharing how they became saved. It is because they care about someones destiny that they are speaking out.
They do not claim to know everything. And i can tell you now being the mother of 8 children and hoping for more, the more children one has, the more it demands you give of yourself. And it also requires that you stretch your money and your resources. Its very difficult to raise a bunch of children like the duggar kids and be selfish.

  15. As long as this is Ray Comfort sponsored and not TLC sponsored and as long as these long "movies" about the Duggars are now on daytime TV and not prime time, I am okay with it. However, if TLC sponsored 19 Kids and Preaching, I would have a real problem there. I am a Christian, but I do not share many of this family's extremist beliefs. (They do have a make a living, and books and DVDs seem like a great way to do that for them.)

    1. I would rather TLC sponsored christians then muslims, polygamists, spirit mediums and humanists. And the Duggars DO NOT recieve ANY endorsements from any of their books or other media. And i know that as a fact. And this project would be sponsored by Ray who, does not get any endorsements either. He recieves a very small income and is frugal, regularly riding his bike to work.

  16. I honestly can't believe them they seem not tobe so tolerant of people that don't have their beliefs. They seem to enjoy portraying how frugal they are, yet they enjoy getting over 3.million from TLC. Not everyone has been so fortunate to get this gig and keep having children and not worrying about money or how they will feed their family. No I'm not buying this depiction of such a wholesome family, show them arguing not everyone has a show paying for thei trips and weddings. Be real and show how Ben ranted about the Catholic beliefs, that was not christian based.

    1. That number is wrong, COLLECTIVELY they are worth $3.5 million. While josh is worth $500,000. That means if you combined every property and business they owned. And their income from tlc thats how much they are worth after tax. And when you devide that between 21 people thats not much.

  17. I wish the Duggars would answer the question many have asked, are they Calvinist? Ray Comfort is a self proclaimed Calvinist. So is this why when the Duggars went to the Bates church Jessa stated that they go to a Baptist church which is alot different from us.... Please answer.... Thanks :)

    1. I think Jessa meant it was a lot different than ours in that the are involved with a homechurch. I asked the Duggars what denomination they are a part of and they said they are independant baptists. Whereas the bates maybe baptist and they worship in a church building.

    2. And Ray comfort just posted on facebook a couple of days ago why he is neither calvanist or arminian. So you may want to check your sources again.

  18. Am I the only non christian who likes to follow the Duggar and Bates families? I like to know about the practicalities. of running such a large family (how cooking, laundry, school work, housework etc gets done). Over the years I find them pushing an increasing amount of religious and political propaganda at people. Please Duggars bring back the emphasis to the practicalities of your life and fun stuff like Jim Bob and his hairspray obsession!

  19. Outside the whitehouse?? I live up here in DC and I know the freedom of speech but that does not seem well thought through. It is like people standing outside schools and handing bibles to students (which does happen). I feel embarrassed for them. They can do what they want but in my eyes they have seemed to become an enforcing group of people. Telling people how they need to become faithful and repent out in public is in my eyes unchristen like.

    1. Anon, Jesus himself and his disciples and great heros of the faith all preached in public. If you include missionaries then we may as well stop all missions. We need more believers who are willing to boldly proclaim Christ in public!

      Delete
  20. I agree with #26. We already are fully aware that this is a religious family. They don't need to emphasize that. Their own political and religious beliefs are just that...their own. They need to keep that in another arena of their lives. If anyone wants to watch religious like programming, there are many Christian TV stations to tune in to...which the Duggars choose to not do themselves as they don't believe in TV as it is today. So, why do they have a TV show? It's good income for Jim Bob and it supports his large family. Illogical, IMO. He's out for the bucks..

    1. So how do impoverished nations hear the gospel? Do the treck for two days into the nearest hut that has a plasma tv to watch the latest televangelist? Thats why we have missionaries. To meet people face to face, demonstrate Christs love to them and be willing to lose their lives for the cause of Christ. A televangelist cant do that. Its very impersonable. People want genuine face to face relationships.
if people want them to be silenced its sometimes because they have a guilty consience. No one forces the public to listen. You dont like what you hear then move on.

  21. Just wanted to point out that the call to faithfulness and repentence has been a part of Judaism and Christianity for thousands of years and people have always resisted and resented the call and the caller. Sigh.... we just cannot help ourselves... peace & joy in the journey

  22. Can someone explain to me what a "Calvinist" is?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow! outside the WHITE HOUSE???? Yay! way to go Duggars! I applaud you for the strength and courage to say what needs to be said. I'm soo tired of always being the one to turn the other cheek while the minority rips apart Christianity. I wish I could have been there to cheer them on.

Also, how do you know that as a fact?

Why is Christianity better than their original religion?

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Anonymous
Because I asked Michelle and Jimbob. My husband and I have also spoken to them on a number of occasions. And we have also gone thru all the seminars offered by IBLP.and so I am very familiar with their standards.

  27. To answer that would be controversial, and I am not willing to stir up a hornets nest. Everybody has their preferences and they are mine. 😃 have a lovely day.

  28. To anonymous 4241 asking, "Why is Christianity better than their original religion?"
I asked that question when I was 18 and started out to try to answer it by taking a course in the religions of India, China and Japan. You could learn as much or more than I did by reading about it on the internet now, save money on courses! Anyway it has been years and years of living and now I can tell you that I have some answers not really from that course but from the Bible. Consider Daniel 7:13
    Daniel 7:13-14King James Version (KJV)

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Do you see the vision Daniel saw of Jesus being made the Lord of all the earth by God the Father?
    Now consider Mark 14: 61, 62
61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Jesus is the Lord and he is the Saviour of the world. Jesus is the WAY, there is no salvation any other way. That is why Christianity is 'better' than any other religion. You have to ask Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour and to forgive your sins and receive the kingdom like a little child. Because this is the real truth you will begin an exciting journey of discovery in the true 'religion'.
