Duggars at a Wedding

There will be wedding bells on tonight's new episode of 19 Kids and Counting! Erin Bates is getting married, and the Duggar clan travels to Tennessee to help prepare for the wedding. Tune in to TLC at 9PM EST/8PM CST for the hour-long special.

And if you missed last week's episodes, the network will air them immediately before. A gracious viewer has also uploaded them to YouTube. (Click here to watch.)

  6. This may just be me, but I thought Erin Bates was already married?!?! I think you mean a different sister! Hope this clears up any confusion about Erin supposedly marrying a second time:)

  9. By the way, Michelle, I think you're "OD' ing on bleach whitener on your teeth. They are unnaturally "bright white".

  10. @Anonymousseriously your nit picking about Michelle s teeth, how perfect are yours, really!Come on people!Instead, maybe you should say how beautiful she is.That's the christian thing to do.Maybe allthe critisizers should post their pics and see how the other judge mental people judge them,it certainly wouldnt be the Duggar supporters saying rude things about your appearence.Let's class things up a little.

  11. For those who are puzzled, Erin married late last year and the wedding was filmed by TLC for the Duggars Show. The show is now airing so what you see on the show are events that happened a few months ago but have been edited and put together. Similarly this is why Ben and Jessa's courtship is only showing now even though it started ages ago. hope this helps! :)

  13. That was the sweetest thing I have seen in a while.Their kiss was not akward at all.Usually the inexperience really shows.Remember Anna and Josh and her sister and her husband? It took a while for them to get the hang of it.How happy were the Duggars and Bates, what a happy atmosphere.I'm gonna lose it for Jills wedding.Happy trails, and bless them all.

  14. Yes, this is the episode where they see Erin getting married... She got married but they hadn't aired her wedding yet. I don't see how this is confusing...

  18. @AnonymousAnonymous 9, that is what you got from that wonderful episode?Better her teeth be too white than brown or yellow.I wasn't looking at the outside of people,I was enjoying the inside of all the people on this blissful day. I saw, love, joy, excitement and Gods light shining on that sweet couple.Shame ,shame for being so materialistic.

  19. In having no experience with a fundamentalist type wedding reception how does one of these receptions go? With no real food, no music at all, absolutely no dancing, is there bouquet tossing, garter throwing, what do the guests do? I certainly am not for anyone getting drunk or acting as if it were a fraternity party or anything inappropriate like that whatsoever. Would someone please let me know what is the structure, if any, in this type of reception. Can't be much to do or be much fun... I understand it lasts only about an hour. Thanks

  20. Heck, most of the guests including the Duggar girls dressed for this wedding like it was any old day at home. Some of the guys wore suits though. They looked better dressed than the girls did. JMHO

She married on November 2, but they aired part of her wedding on last night of "19 Kids and Counting."

Lily and Ellie are the people who run this blog. Lily is Ellie's mom.

Saw the episode and enjoyed very much .How ever seeing Jill tell her parents that she was in love and wanted to meet her man I truly felt that she was in love . Seeing Jessa during the episode I didn t get the same impression. I don t see that big sparkle when she is with Ben. Anyone else.

  24. Erin was married five months ago.... the show usually airs several months after production. Perhaps that is where the confusion is coming in?

  25. Why did TLC edit out Gothard's attendance at this wedding and a birthday cake for him at the wedding reception to boot? If they associate closely with this man, they should air it as it was. Hiding anything?

  26. @Anonymousseems to me that comment is in poor taste

  27. Thanks ya'll! Now I understand:)

I agree about Jill really looking like she was in love before she actually met Derick in person. I think that Jessa isn't super romantic like some of the other girls. She just has a different personality, but she does seem to really care about Ben. Maybe it is just awkward for her to show her feelings for the camera. :)

  29. I have always been a big fan of the Bates family and the Keller family.Look forward to seeing Jill's wedding and hope it will not be alittle nicer than Erin's. No reason to have any Duggar wedding in a church basement with little sandwiches. You seem to live very comfortably and can make your beautiful daughters and they are all wonderful and as nice as they can be a very nice wedding

  30. Regarding the comment of what people do at a reception without dancing......They talk, laugh, eat, etc. I do believe that they served real food. I have never heard of anyone serving fake food at a wedding.

  31. Fundamentalist weddings as u called them are actually very fun. Lots of food and cake eating and games playing and jokes played on the bride and groom. If there is no dancing and drinking it doesn't mean they are boring. Lots of advise giving and sharing experiences. This is what a real christian reception should be like. Not a bunch of drunk people dancing a night away. I mean

  32. Did the kiss not seem like they had done it before? They were really smooth!

  33. I feel that Jessa's vs. Jill's reactions are just due to them having different personalities.
