In the following video, Jim Bob Duggar and his four eldest daughters (Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger Duggar) talk to the Washington Times about politics and the girls' new book.
I am sorry to say this but I think that the girls have been overshadowed by their father and brother about things that were not even written in their book.
Is it just me, or has Jessa been looking so sad and distant in all of the videos of their book tour lately? I would assume that she'd be at the happiest point in her life because of her courtship…and she looks ecstatic in all of sneak peak clips of the new season where she is with Ben. Anyone else notice this?
Jessa must have something else going on in her mind since the whole time she was just standing there and not reacting to what was being said. Must have been an early morning ;) I love how Jana, even though she never speaks shows that she agrees with what is being said by her gentle smile.
saw this one online and wasn't sure if y'all had it up yet... http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/03/10/1-kids-and-counting-stars-wont-kiss-until-marriage/
But, the separation of Church and State is in the Constitution. Is Jim Bob saying we should ignore parts of the Constitution that he doesn't agree with?
the awkwardness in the beginning with the forced faces, jessa being a statute, and jill trying to keep from laughing- plus the angle made Jim Bob look like a giant- it was too funny!
Some mentioned that Jessa seemed withdrawn or sad, perhaps she's just missing Ben, or thinking about her wedding dress. Or maybe she was just having a bad day. Don't we all? Most of us are fortunate that we do not have our expressions, scrutinized on a regular basis. I continue to marvel at the poise and grace this entire family demonstrates. As someone else mentioned I too find Jana's gentle, supportive smiles very endearing. But there I go scrutinizing their every expression... human nature I guess!
Bill of Rights - First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Rudy, I am not an expert on the Constitution, but separation of church and state is not actually stated in the constitution. The history of separation of church and state is pretty interesting and it seems to me has become such a familiar statement that we think it is written into he constitution, but it isn't. The First Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights and was intended to protect the people and allow us to practice our religion freely. People of faith have every right to exercise their faith in every occupation, including government. Faith and morality are the compass points that help our nation stay on course. If we reject the source of our beginnings we wander aimlessly, uncertain, confused. Ellen
@Anonymous How would JB like it if all the Rabbis ran for office and won, or all the Moslem leaders, or even Catholic Priests? And, they started to make political decisions based on their own religions? I don't think he would be happy with that. Just with good Christians running the country.
Hello Jim Bob. There is church and state separation and always will be. You can't force your religion on others. You think being in office he would know that.
Thanks for leaving your comments! We answer as many of your questions as we can, but due to the number of comments we receive daily, we are unable to answer every one. Our aim is to post all points of view, but we do not post anything that is profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste.
so sweet, all of them.

ReplyDeleteJill has infectious enthusiasm, anyone would want her on their team, maybe she should go on Celebrity Apprentice !
ReplyDeleteThe book tour publicity events should be focused only on the girls book, it is not fair to limit their audiences.

this book tour is about the girls not the whole family can these girls please open their mouths and talk for themselves.
ReplyDeleteIf you want freedom of religion, you need to keep the church and state separate.
