  1. When I heard in the first few moments Josh being referred to as being from the large "Duggar" family, I shut it down. When Josh grows up enough to be himself and to speak for himself without the "name" of his family; only as Josh Duggar; I will listen to him. As long as he is riding on his parent's coat-tails, he has nothing to say to me. Hint, Josh. There are many more people in this world named Duggar that did not spawn from Jim Bob and Michelle. You need to be one of them as far as your voice being heard. I don't tune in to hear Josh Duggar only to hear parroting language. I would tune in if you expressed yourself as an individual.

  3. I wish Josh specifically answered the question about what was it like to grow up in a large family. He constantly brought it back to the Lord and not his experiences. We all know he is faithful to the Lord his; but his answers came across as though he had a script or felt pressure not to be direct. Perhaps, he feels he must tow the family/IBLP/FRC lines and cannot simply answer the question.

  4. "Parenting ultimately fell on my parents"...sure doesn't appear that way on your show. I remember one of the little girls who was sick, crying to her buddy; not to her Mom. Tell tale sign. The older sisters seem to teach, care and discipline. His parents "wanted each of them to reach their potential"; sure, but within the boundaries set by his parents.

  6. I am posting this to get some feed back, As a conservative mother of two kids I sit down with them to watch the duggars show online since we don't have a TV set. But I've started to notice over the past few seasons that the show is becoming pointless what I mean is no real substance to it and I put the blame on TLC network. The duggars are so much more than what is shown. realize as a mother of two that family life can be redundant and they have probably exhausted all that they can teach about raising a Christian family, but now that their kids are older they are doing more on the political scene to advocate Christian leaders and push Christian legislation outside of Arkansas and Christian lifestyle but that is toatlly ignored by TLC. This past season was about a flee market for their children's hospital which could have be edited down to two 30 min shows but they showed so much pointless fillers time. The duggars said they would not allow TLC to edit out their faith but I recon that their core beliefs are not on the show, why do they continue to do the show? The show seems to obsess about a few things like getting married, marriage and weaving sexual innuendo and cheep laughs at it and the next duggar child. Their is so much more to them I feel it is best that their tv show be phased out of our family and stick to their books and live appearances. Is it just me or do other Christian parents and adults feel the same or differently I would love some feedback thanks

I also feel like the show is getting repetitive. I would like to know more. We get the same questions about how to do cook or pack for 19 kids? The flea market was over half the season. I would have rather seen a day in the life of one of the 9-14 year old kids. I would like to see how an actual school day goes & what and how they study. I would like to know more about the home church works. You know TLC is editing the show. I saw Priscilla and Davis wedding online and TLC edited very differently (took out a lot of the faith, TLC only focused on the first kiss). This season really was nothing more then Josh's move and the flea market. I hope next season will be better. Obviously Jessa will be the be the focus. I hope we do not get the same old courtship rules talk, flashbacks of Josh, and Duggar time. I would love the show to show us a more personal side of Jessa(I have watched every episode but know little about her) and Ben and how they feel and their plans and beliefs without hearing the same old phrases the family always uses.

  8. Take comfort, it is not just you. The Bible does not say everyone must get married and have children and no where does it say you must have 19. Look it up. It says, in fact, that a more blessed life may be lived, as called upon by God, to be unmarried and without children. Michelle is obsessed with babies. I think they think they were ordained by God to have 100 and to have these into their 100's years of age. Notice when Anna and Josh got married, Michelle had to follow right behind Anna with MIchelle's"renewal vows" to Jim Bob, including her own daughter's wearing Anna's bridemaid's dresses. If Jessa does indeed get married next, I wonder if Michelle will have a "renewal vows" ceremony with her own daughter's wearing Jessa's bridemaild's dresses. Strange. Notice that they do all modern things with their appearance from head to neck and they do modern things with their appearance from knee to toes. They quote some Old Testament verse about covering from neck to knee. Notice a few things that if you are an everyday family looking to the Duggar's on how to live, Jim Bob never goes to a job like most men do, rich or poor (at least on the TV show, it appears that Jim Bob's only job is to be in control of everything for everybody). They set extremely bad examples for their children. No employers will ever accept "Duggar time" and that is so arrogant to me to even suggest the Duggars are exempt from the rest of us as far as time goes. If you opt to have that many children, you must opt also to respect time you need to allow for that. Michelle never cleans her own house, grocery shops for her family, wipes all the runny noses, changes diapers, or cooks, much less three times a day--these are all delegated out to her children. You never see Jim Bob or Michelle either one doing what you and I and all other parents do every day. Have you ever seen Jim Bob and Michelle doing what the rest of us do in daily life? No, you have not, because it is physically impossible to devote the time to each of their children that we devote to ours and the time that all children need from their parents--not from their "buddy" or "jurisdiction shareholders." I honestly don't know how or why this family has developed the huge following they have developed. If I asked each and every one of you Duggar fans to tell me how you can relate to their lives and how you can relate their lives to your own, I bet if you are honest, not one hand would be raised. You are all valuable to God. Married or not married. One child or 50. Remember that.

I agree with you. Not only on your very spot on points; but other aspects, too. The three problems I see is in their contradictions; they do not watch television, yet are on it supposedly to spread the word of Jesus Christ; they are a family "show" yet are televised after many children are asleep; and JimBob and Michelle speak about sex in a million different ways yet are extremely strict when it comes to their children "dating" and dressing. Maybe there really is not much more to them than dentist trips, marriage, and babies!

    1. I totally agree! How can they say that TV is evil, but condone other people watching them on TV? Hypocrites!

  10. As time goes on, it will be very interesting to see how the 19 get accepted into the real word without Jim Bob there to command them.

  11. The question I want to ask Jim Bob and Michelle is "did you ever touch each other before you were were married? (and hand holding and side hugs are touching). And I will be delicate here... "those" sinful but forbidden feelings are most profound in these types of contact you allow."

  12. I love them and their show! They are a huge encouragement to me as a wife and a mother. I get sad the seasons are so short.

  13. If you're so interested in expressing yourself as an individual why don't you post under your name instead of anonymous?

I know you guys made these comments a few months ago but I had to pitch in and say I agree that TLC is dropping the ball. I've noticed that most of the directors, producers, and cameramen are men. And they are missing out on alot of the stuff that female viewers are interested in, such as a day in the life of Joy Anna, Justin, Jedediah, etc, etc. I'm also interested in more of the details of their homeschooling. I wish the producers would sit down and properly interview some of the kids instead of asking them leading questions and sprinkling in 5 word answers and eye rolls here and there. I've seen the older girls interviewed on other shows and they have so much to say that doesn't come out on the show. I don't think the producers realize how many of the viewers are Christian and would continue to support the show if more of their beliefs are shown. This show needs some on-site WOMEN producers and camera people. It would freshen up the show and create a new perspective. I'm also getting really bored with the amount of screen time Anna is getting - she's not anywhere near as relevant as the Duggar's actual children and Michelle is alot more compelling to listen to and has alot more wisdom to share. Smiles - I'm probably preaching to the choir. Glad to share with folks who feel like I do.
