The Duggars' most recent family photo (Summer 2013) |
Like your
typical American family, the Duggars' 4th of July celebration is a day filled with food,
fellowship, and fireworks, but in the midst of the festivities, they remember
those who made great sacrifices in the name of freedom. The family spends time
praying for their nation and thanking God for the privileges they enjoy as
U.S. citizens.
Michelle Duggar writes about Independence
Day in her TLC Parentables post:
The
children love to study about the great individuals that founded our country,
the men and women that came before us. The kids and I will gather around and
talk about what freedom means to us. To celebrate the day, we usually
get together with family and friends and have a big cookout. At the end of the
day, we set off fireworks or sometimes we’ll go and see a big fireworks display
in our area.
Wishing our American readers a happy 4th of July!
What are your plans for the day?
I would like to say thank you for just reminding us that we all need to talk time to remember those who gave it all! I'm a military wife and love what I do, but still need that reminder. Happy 4th to everyone
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family! :)
ReplyDeleteA really nice picture but where is Anna and the children? They are just as much a part of the Duggar Family as the rest.
ReplyDeleteKind of a shut out...Very sad.
Happy 4th of July to our families to the south of me. God Bless All of America. Thank you again for the photo.

Where are anna and the kids?
ReplyDeleteActually, the "littles ones" have grown up. Strange to see no more little ones follow..
ReplyDeleteHuh. I was disappointed not to find Anna and Mackynzie and Michael and Marcus in this picture. :)
ReplyDeleteI know i keep repeating myself, but I'm never sure if my messege makes it out there. So here goes again. I am constantly worried for the Duggars saftey every tornado season. I know they do not have a basement. I know that a steel frame house is strong, but a category 4 or 5 would be totally devastating to their home. I think a family project would be smart, we all know how capable they all at building, plus i think it would be an interesting episode. I worry every year, you see i was in a catergory 5 and now i have great fear. Can you please send them my concerns. We would all be totally devasted if something were to happen to this precious family, thankyou and God speed!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting my comment, i can rest easy now;>}
DeleteThe duggars are aware of the threat of tornado's and so they regularly practise safety drills and are using their clothing closet as a shield.. as it has no windows. IBLP teaches emergency preparedness is vital. To some degree its a matter of trusting God for safety as well. Dont spend so much time worrying. it doesnt profit anything anyway.
DeleteOh my goodness! Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn and Josie have all gotten so big! Love the family photo! Happy 4th to you all!
ReplyDeletewhat a good idea to pray for the leaders of our country. Happy Holidays!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere's Anna and grand kids?? They're duggars to!
ReplyDeleteDid JoyAnna cut her hair?
ReplyDeleteYou have one beautiful family inside and out! I really enjoy watching your show, it is like you're a part of my family! Thank you for sharing. When does the new season begin? Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLove and Blessings to you all,
Dorothy

Please people, Josh and Anna are finally getting a life of their own. Get over it!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is time they move on.
I love Joy's haircut. The oldest girls are all pretty but since they all have perms or curly hair sometimes I'll mix them up for a second. I'm glad Joy is keeping her hair straight and the shorter length looks great!
ReplyDeleteWow, Jennifer is almost as tall as Hannie now!
Hey Lily and Ellie,
ReplyDeleteWe were with Priscilla, David, Paul, and John David today. I know you have an area with pictures of people who have met the Duggars. Is there somewhere I can send these so they can these?
I have a fantastic idea for the two ladies that run this blog to expand their horizons. Why don't they make their Duggar blog interactive? For example, on this article, post what the Duggars did on their 4th (U.S. celebration), but THEN ask what other Christian families did on the 4th? All the interactive posts put out here have to do with the Duggars and answering questions about the Duggars. I think that is a great idea to expand and post what other Christian families do (and around the world on international holidays we don't celebrate here in the U.S.). Food for thought!
ReplyDeleteLook closely. They're smiling, but yet, they don't look happy in their eyes, the way they used to. Something's different. Anyone else notice it?

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
Go ahead and send the photos to DuggarFamilyBlog@gmail.com
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea, Anonymous! We have done some of that in the past, but we will try to do more of it :)

ReplyDeleteHi Dorothy,
New episodes will return this fall.
~Lily and Ellie
Anna, Josh, and the kids were there that day. The photos were done at the church building. These were taken June 12th, one week before they moved. As for the 4th of July, the Duggars might normally celebrate with the McPhearson family. However, that particular family went on vacation. They visited Josh and Anna and then traveled on to a History convention. Some of the older Duggar girls are with them. John David went on ATI business. Other Duggars ended up going to Mrs. Query's house this year. She is the lady you see as Anna's doula in the birth of Marcus video. Mrs. Query always opens up her home for the 4th for swimming, food, fireworks, etc. We're not quite sure why the Duggars don't host something with their big huge yard and all, but it's nice that others do.
ReplyDeletewow the family looks a lot smaller now that the little ones have grown up and people aren't holding them and also because Anna and mackynzie, michael and marcus aren't there. hope all you americans had a great 4th of July! God bless from an Australian duggar fan :)
ReplyDeleteJosie seems to be quite short compared to Jordyn, who is less than a year older. Jordyn is shorter than Jennifer too, but the difference between Jordyn and Josie is more profound. They did mention before that Josie is kind of short, I wonder if it stays like this or she will grow out of it.
ReplyDeleteJedidiah is taller than Josiah!
ReplyDeleteGoodness from this small photo on my phone I thought Johanna was Joy! And this was an old picture until I realized Josie was in the front. They are a nice looking bunch.
