  4. Here's a controversial fact. You (Duggars) don't watch television and don't let your children watch television but on the other hand produce a television show streamed for public viewers encouraging them to watch television. Isn't that kind of wrong, telling people one thing and acting totally different?

  6. I am so thankful for this family's consistent message! Fighting the spiritual battle against the flesh needs constant encouragement and I don't find their message redundant at all but rather good, edifying reminders. I'd be more concerned if their message did change!

  7. They DO have TV. You are just led to believe they don't. If you mirrored what the Duggar's say, you would not even know they exist. How does anyone know about them except for TV? Huh?

  8. The Duggars DO watch select movies and recorded television. When they say they do not have television, they mean they don't have the digital box that makes you able to get the 'free' local channels, and they do not have cable or satellite. . They watch DVDs on their computer. They've said they used to watch major news events (like election results) on 'rabbit ears' when you used to be able to use them.

They have said these things over and over and over. People don't pay attention.

Again, why do people who don't like them and only want to complain about them even watch them or read this blog!! It's frustrating to read ugly comments on this blog.

  9. The basic question still remains to be answered: if the jimBob and Michelle choose not to watch television; why be a part of a reality television show??? You are encouraging people TO watch television-the very thing you believe is evil. Perhaps, it is not so evil when television broadcasts YOUR message to thousands of watchers? Truly rings of hypocritical thinking!

And @ Anonymous July 29, 12:24 AM-you may disagree with what you label as "ugly" comments and that is your right. As it is the right of whomever posted the comment you do not agree, to have their say. Sometimes, "ugly" comments are "realistic" comments!!!

  11. The Duggars have no TV but they have "gone there" in order to be a witness, to reach a lost and dying world, for Christ! What is so wrong with that? Don't missionaries go to places most of us would never travel to (and the missionary certainly wouldn't just choose to live for no reason!)in order to reach the lost?
It seems some people are just not going to be happy with this family or any like them. That brings the bigger question: why is that?
