Josh Speaks at NWA Mall

Every year, Josh and Anna Duggar take an angel off the Salvation Army Angel Tree at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville. The tree is a tradition for the town, and each ornament represents the Christmas list of a local child.

According to NWAhomepage.com, Josh spoke at the event's kickoff yesterday"You're really giving to those orphans, those children that are the greatest need and probably at a very, very influential time in their life where all it takes, is a little gift and a little bit of charity to push them in the right direction in life."

Josh and Anna and their kids will purchase Christmas gifts for the child that they chose.

  1. i'm so glad they're giving back to children in need who's parents can't either get them something or are low income. Good for you Josh and Anna. :-)

  2. Hi!
Great of Josh and Anna! Here in Germany, we pack presents in shoeboxes. They are sent to Eastern Europe. A little present to make a kid happy! If you live in Germany or Austria, join us! You can watch a video with a song on youtube, it will make you cry to see the kids, I'm sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIlBvFddNA8&feature=player_embedded#!

  5. I think that is awsm they r so thoughtful and generous w there time money and all that god has blessed them with. Like when the they bought a mini van for a family in need. Pastor at my church just preached on this how a person can go on of two ways there r ppl who don't appreciate what they have not acknowledge where it comes from they r selfish greedy ppl then they those that use what god has bless them w to bless others and they r very appreciative of what they have and give god thanks. God doesn't bless some one for no reason he wants u to use that blessing to minister and bless some one else . And that is exactly what josh and Anna r doing and well the whole duggar family they have remain true to themselves an there values and use there show as a platform to minister to others .

  6. Do you know if the trip to Asia will be on T.V.? If so, do you know when? Also, did all of them end up being able to go? I know Josh and Anna went! Thanks for all the great posts! :-)

  7. It's misleading for him to refer to those children as "orphans". The majority of children that are served through Salvation Army giving trees have parents, they just need help getting their kids presents for Christmas.

Operation Christmas Child is another wonderful program and we also participate in that.

  8. Has Josh slimmed down a bit? Good that they support local charities.

  9. I do that too. Every year since I was 11. Using my own allowance. But now kids are asking for an iPad and Nintendo Wii. I like to pick older kids because they are last to be picked but tonka trucks and Thomas the train is easier to buy. My kids don't get expensive electronics and how can they afford the games to such devices.

  11. I don't believe Josh has slimmed down at all. Also, the Salvation Army Tree does NOT give gifts to orphans. It gives the gifts to those in the community who's parents will not or cannot get them gifts. The parent's have to sign their child up in order to be put on the tree. I do agree alot of the requests are for items I would not even get for my own children. Not really necessities, which one would think for children in need.

  12. Its not just for orphans but single moms and dads or parents of low income that can't buy toys and gifts for the kids because of some reason or another its been a blessing too many of my family members who are low income to get their kids and grandkids toys!
