  3. Oh, stop. I can't wrap my head around a family that travels the world, yet their children are getting "home schooled."

    1. What better way to study and learn history than to experience it!

  4. If it weren't for homeschooling, their children wouldn't have the freedom to travel so much. What is there to understand? Homeschooling provides more opportunity to learn, to explore and grow. Why do you think it means isolation and narrow mindedness?

  6. Public/private school also take up more time than home schooling. I was home schooled and since I could work at my own pace, I could have my work done in 3-4 hours max- sometimes less! Since we had the option to do school throughout the year or have a few longer catch up days, my family could travel in the middle of the school year or we could go do things in the day. I was also involved in extra curricular activities and went on many field trips. :)

  7. What kind of baggage could Michelle have had when she was 15? Dating a boy or two? Jim Bob brought up the baggage she brought into their relationship when Josh got engaged to Anna and they were going on about how they won't kiss before they were married. It seemed like Jim Bob wanted Michelle to feel guilty about it. I wonder if he brings it up when talking to his kids about why it is important for their kids to court and not date.

  8. What bothers me about this family is that they try to show total perfection. And all of us know their family is not perfect. There are arguments; narry a one has ever been shown. There has been rebellion; never shown. Just the perfect family where everyone lives in the Garden of Eden. Not.

    1. Speak the truth in love. People want to know where their morals and value system come from, it's development and place value in their lives. I think they are permitted to learn from parental mistakes or misguidance. They just simply answered a question about their upbringing honestly and decided it wasn't for their family. I see no disloyalty or dishonoring in that. Not what you say, but how you present it. ;)
