Almost three years old and progressing normally, it is hard to believe that Josie Duggar was born weighing only 1 pound, 6 ounces. In her latest TLC Parentables post, Michelle is thrilled to report that she recently returned her daughter's oxygen monitor, which has not been used in months. For those wondering about the outcome of Josie's ear tube surgery, the toddler been off antibiotics and infection-free since last year's procedure.
Michelle writes: She is probably my strongest toddler I've ever had -- both in physical
strength and determination. She's a little spitfire.
Other than her height, which Michelle says she makes up for in personality and spunk, Josie has met all of the milestones set forth by her pediatrician. She is even participating in homeschooling with her other siblings.
We're sitting around the table now each afternoon having wisdom-book time and memory-lane time (where we memorize and sing songs), and Josie just catches it instantly. She'll sing all the songs we're singing word perfect and keep the pitch and everything just right.
Now that Josie is thriving, Michelle is able to use her experiences in the NICU to encourage other mothers going through the very same struggles that the Duggars dealt with in early 2010.

I have an adopted brother born 3 mo. Premature. He was born a month before Josie. He is still very little and does not talk more than a few words but he also has a lot of personality that bubbles out through his actions, facial expressions, and few words!
ReplyDeleteYay for Josie! Such a blessing!
ReplyDeleteYou should be proud! A toddler singing on pitch is not average :) Josie is above average!

DeleteI am so happy to see Josie is happy and healthy. She is just so adorable her curly hair is so cute as a mum myself, my husband and I had infertility problems but we now have 2 married adult children and NOW have our very happy healthy grandson. My biggest dream would have been an unexpected pregnancy. So to you - the Duggers
You are so blessed.

ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that the Duggars have allowed us on Josie's journey. I know people get in a tizzy about their prolife agenda, but sharing Josie's story is far more eye and heart opening than any picket signs or chants ever could be and they sure walk their talk, I am so excited to see the new episodes and see what she's into.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of babies. Anna Duggars sister, Susanna Keller who is seen on early episodes of the show, is now pregnant with her first child with her fiance, JJ. https://plus.google.com/107005517854688268428/posts this is her google account and she is updating with baby news.

I was wondering how her surgery went since it wasn't filmed. Thanks for sharing. What is her height and weight now? When half of the Duggar family came to WI in March, I was most disappointed about not getting to meet Josie. She's beyond precious! <3

ReplyDeleteJosie has gotten so big and so cute! She is a lovely little girl!
ReplyDeleteJosie is my favorite duggar from day one. The first episode I ever watched was the one where Josie was born. And now she is nearly three years old. Its hard to believe!! :)
