See the Duggars in Courageous!

Courageous, the newest movie from Sherwood Pictures (a ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church) is in theaters now! And guess what else? The Duggars are extras in the film! Check out the trailer below. At about 2 minutes and 9 seconds, you will see Jim Bob running in the Father&Son 5K. He is wearing a red shirt and is on the left side of the screen. Josh is to his right, wearing black, and a couple of the other Duggar boys are in the race as well. Several of the other Duggars also have small roles throughout the movie.

Have you seen Courageous?

  1. My wife and I saw it tonight. Great movie!

We certainly noticed Joy and Jessa during the funeral scene and Jim Bob during the race. Joy and Jessa are listed in the scrolling credits at the end.

    Great blog btw :)

  5. Yes! This is a fabulous movie. (I reviewed it briefly at my Homeschool News Network site.)

I noticed the girls first, then saw Josh in the race scene. Later I noticed Jim Bob was in that scene when I saw the still photo on the Courageous web site.

  6. I saw it on October 1st! Wonderful movie. I saw Jessa and Joy in one scene as well, and I saw Mr. Duggar in the race. I thought I saw Joseph Duggar, but it was so fast that perhaps I could be wrong.

Saw Jessa and Joy in the credits as well. :)

I would love to be an extra in a Sherwood Pictures film!

  7. I see Justin (#71) up from Jim Bob to the center a bit, Josh (look to the right of Jim Bob, #78) and next to Josh looks like Josiah or one of the other "middle boys".

  8. Hi Anonymous!

Joy and Jessa are not in the trailer, only in the full-length movie.

    Thanks for reading!

  11. In one of the episodes last season they were doing the race scene, but I had completely forgotten that they were there until the funeral scene. The girls really stood out to me, and then I only caught Jim Bob, none of the others since the scene was so quick.

I went on Friday, our church reserved 50 seats Friday and then 50 on Saturday. It really was an amazing movie.

  13. I saw it. It was awesome! I laughed, cried, was inspired, and eagerly watched the credits, and Jessa and Joy WERE there; Jessa as "girl at funeral" and Joy as "crying girl at funeral". During the race scene, I saw Jimbob and Josh, but it was too quick to catch any of the other Duggar boys. My prayer is that a new generation of men band together to be the godly men they were called to be.

  16. Hi Anonymous!

Since new episodes are not usually posted to YouTube by TLC, the upload time varies. It can take as little as a few weeks and as long as a few months.

    Thanks for reading!

  17. This is nothing against your blog because I think you all are doing a great job but I think it's pretty hypocritical for the Duggar family to be in a movie that is in theaters when they believe that it's wrong to go to the theater or even have a television in their house. I have lost a lot of respect for them over this. Just saying.

  18. Anonymous,

You are entitled to your opinion, but I just want to clear a few things up. The Duggars aren't against TV, but what is shown on TV. They do watch wholesome television shows on DVD. And the same goes for movies. They have said that they LOVE to watch uplifting movies as a family. There is a lot of inappropriate media out there, and they are simply guarding their hearts and minds.

  23. I loved the movie! And yes, I also got excited when I saw the Duggars. How did they get in the movie?

  24. @Anonymous

They do think it's wrong to have a tv in their house because of all the bad tv shows that are out there, they do go to the Christian film festival every year, that's when they see CHRISTIAN movies, they don't think it's wrong to see a Christian movie. Just sayin.

  27. Veryyy coool lil' surprise when we saw Duggars pass by in the movie "Courageous". And yes, TV has to be screened these days, especially for younger kids. You can't just let your kids watch it freely cause ooh wee the stuff they would see. Mmm.

  28. PS- "Courageous" was the bommbbbb movie. We all loved it, and we need to give this movie to every father. As a matter of fact, I think they should have a screening in jails and prisons so they can see it. They ARE going to get out, and need to be given some type of info on being a better example and father, among other things. Nowadays all even attempts at any sort of rehab has been taken away, so I don't know how they expect anything to change. We all know the saying "Crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
We're greatful that the Duggars, Michelle and really Jim Bob show such a positive and do-able example of family and a father that is there and giving Godly instruction through life..and that we get to see the beautiful fruits of that labor.

  29. The first time I watched this movie it was before I knew about the Duggars but the second time I watched it, about a year ago, I was watching when all of a sudden I surprised my family by calling out in the middle of the funeral scene "That's Jessa!!" I did not see any other Duggars except in that scene but I plan to look next time! Thanks Lily and Ellie for this link of the trailer and the explanation of where the Duggars are! I love the Duggar family and the Kendrick brother movies so I am glad that they are joined in a way! :) God Bless you all!!
