Pray for the Bates Family

The Bates family, the Duggars' dear friends, recently announced on their blog that Kelly suffered a miscarriage of their 19th child at 10 weeks gestation. The Bates family is asking for you prayers during this difficult time.

  5. Prayers are with them. While you are praying for the Bates family would you all say a prayer for my friend Ashley. She had her baby girl on March 11th at 25 weeks. Baby Alexis is 1 1/2 pound. She is breathing on her own but very small breaths. Thanks so much.

  6. I'm so sorry! I will definitely be praying for the Bates family as they go through this tough time.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance" (James 1:2-3).

  8. it was a sign that she should quit having kids. her body can't take it anymore. god does give signs. he does not want us to kill ourselves to have children and he does not want our children hurt by having too many. if you continue to have children, the next one will be very premature and it will be your fault because you knew it could happen and you will have no one to blame but yourselves for god gave you a sign that you refused to listen to. michelle had that sign with her last... if she has another one, and she dies or that baby dies or comes really early, then it will be her fault for inflicting that on a child and herself. she knew it could and probably would happen. i am sorry for your loss, it is always tragic and sad when that happens.

    1. Where does it say any of this in the scripture? Looks like you are creating your own God.

  10. It's not up to us to decide whether the Duggars or the Bates should have more kids. Both families have a strong faith and will continue to follow what God tells them to do. Could it be possible that the purpose of Josie's birth was to demonstrate to the world the power of prayer?

  13. I think it's great that loving people want to have as many children as God allows. But He alone is the author of life and if he chooses to take a life, that shouldn't be questioned. Granted we are allowed to grieve but to take hormones in hopes of getting pregnant again? I don't think that is God's plan.

  14. Kelly is not taking hormones to get pregnant (she has never had difficulty with that) but so that when she does become pregnant, the baby has a strong, healthy home to grow in until birth. It is the same as not eating junk and getting exercise. That is not messing with God's will.
