At my wedding, the church handled their end, the reception venue handled their end -- we just picked out the food and the linens, the florist handled their end, the cake baker handled her end, and the band handled their end. I don't think everyone needs a planner? Just contract with reputable professionals, and they'll do their job.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-10111476545118031642017-01-30T13:52:15.411-06:002017-01-30T13:52:15.411-06:00I think you're right. They paid for a church (with an elaborate set-up, both inside and out) plus a rented reception venue, yet could only serve nibbles like cheese and crackers and pickles? Seemed they "shoestringed" when it came to serving the guests, but went all out when it came to making themselves beautiful or happy. Even if TLC helped, I'm once again disappointed that the Duggars, a "Godly" family, don't seem to give to others what they give to themselves. I skimped on my wedding dress so I could have a nicer reception for my guests. The lasting memories I have from that gathering are worth more than a bejeweled, personally-designed dress that I would have only worn once. I don't understand the Duggar way of organizing weddings and prioritizing costs, and never will.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-75737826985630289152017-01-29T10:30:30.775-06:002017-01-29T10:30:30.775-06:00Maybe Michelle was sick ,or ,busy with younger chi...Maybe Michelle was sick ,or ,busy with younger children ,or out of town with her MAN....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6925412444274057427.post-34190592280951052312017-01-29T08:40:10.858-06:002017-01-29T08:40:10.858-06:00Not only did Miss Cindy step into this role, where...Not only did Miss Cindy step into this role, where was Jeremy's mother when they were planning the rehearsal dinner? Traditionally, that is the groom's parents' responsibility to organize and host. The fact that the pasta tasting went on at the Duggars, with a friend of the Duggars making the food, tells me that TLC was in charge of everything, so they could film it. Didn't we see Michelle at the other wedding venues? In fact, she accidentally punched a hole or holes in the wall when hanging decorations. Wonder why Jinger went to the church with Cindy this time? It really is a special mother-daughter time. Oh, and remember what happened during the episode where Jinger tried on the dresses? Michelle had to be reminded that she was supposed to go into the dressing room to help. She was all over the couple at the engagement, but then absent-minded or just plain absent during this part of the wedding planning.
