Derick's Graduation

Big news from the Dillards. Derick has just graduated from the Cross Church School of Ministry, a one-year residency program that he has been a part of since last August. In addition to serving at Cross Church, doing local missions projects, working with college students, and participating in multiple mission trips, Derick also took some seminary classes. Stay tuned for more news on what the Dillards will be doing next.

    1. I've always thought Jill (mostly) resembles her mother. She does not have the round duggar face at all.
It is very nice to hear this news. I wish them well.

  6. It’s already been announced that he’s going to law school this fall.

  7. What does that say? Certificate of License? License for what? Looks like something you'd print online. My BIL became an ordained minister, so he could officiate at a friend's wedding, simply by applying at a church online for free. He was ordained and could then legally marry people. That's all the training it can take to become a "minister."

    1. In the Baptist denomination a ministry license is given to a man who is not yet pastoring a church. It is a credential from his home church that "Yes, this man has demonstrated through his manner of life and his teaching/preaching that God has called him to preach the Word. We as his home church vouch for his character and call." At some future time he will be ordained (usually when he accepts his first pastoral position in a church, goes to the mission field, etc.).

  9. I'm starting to wonder about Derick's ability to stay focused on something. First he's getting an accounting degree, then he's in Nepal, then he's working as an accountant, then he's in Central America, then he's doing this program, and next he's...off on an entirely different tangent...

    1. According to the latest report, Derrick will be attending law school. I don't know who will be paying for that. Jill is a lay midwife but I don't think she gets paid for it.

    2. not sure what business it is of yours how these people support themselves? They choose to share what they want. They don't OWE us anything, nor any explanation. How about 'congratulations on your successes and best wishes in law school, Derrick'!!

    3. So they're supposed to just show up on TV every Monday night, expecting people to tune in, with no explanation as to what they're doing?

    1. Why do they have to be Christian? Have you noticed how there are good people of all faiths, and even no particular faith at all?

  26. I wish Jill had the chance to go to school- maybe nursing school. She would do well, but Duggar women don’t get the chance to go to college.

    1. Once they are married their choices belong to them. I would say none of them has chosen college...yet

    2. too busy raising kids

    3. She has said that she WANTS to stay home with her kids, just like MANY other women do after they have kids. It’s a couple’s choice if they want one parents to stay home, or for them both to work and to put the kids in daycare or school depending on their age, and obviously they’ve decided they want their kids to be at home with a parent.

    4. The womb is more important than the diploma.

      Delete
    5. I think at this point Derick should stay home with the children and Jill should find employment. A household needs at least one income.

    6. So, 9:28, school is ok for a man since he doesn't have a womb, but women should just stay pregnant until their womb gives out? I thought this was the 21st century.

They all look good. Jill looks so pretty here when she gives her naturally beautiful smile. I don't like the 'surprised' look she makes when she takes a selfie. Those kids are adorable and everyone's clothes look nice. I love how elegant Jill looks in that dress and She doesn't have a wad of old fashioned hair hiding her pretty face.
