Celebrating Baby Girl Vuolo

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo baby shower

Following their daughter's gender reveal party, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo were treated to a surprise baby shower, hosted by friends and attended by both friends and family.

"It feels so different being the guest of honor at this baby shower, as I've been to so many baby showers in the past, celebrating other little ones who are entering the world," says Jinger in the video below.

    9. There's no controversy. There's a discussion about the color pink. Don't try to make every opinion or discussion into a controversy, when it's not.

    10. I like pink, but this was definitely too much! That's not a Duggar criticism, but a comment on whoever selected the decor. The ballerina also seems odd for a baby shower. It would be more fitting for a young child's birthday party (assuming she's interested in that).

    11. Emma Hamilton if you think fans stating their opinions about too much pink decor is controversial... LOL get out into the world honey, and God bless you

      Delete
    12. I think Emma was referring to the negativity about something like the color at a baby shower...,people feel the need to make a mountain out of a mole hill about everything the Duggars do.

    13. I think people would have made the same comment if that was anyone's pink shower.

    1. It's all a matter of perspective. They probably got all of those pink party goods on sale after Valentines Day. We know they re-use party supplies, also. It looks like someone made some beautifully displayed cupcakes, but we don't know whether that was a talented friend or family member or if they paid a professional. There a lot of over-the-top parties these days, but I can't see anything in this picture that makes their party look extravagant.

      Delete
    2. No anonymous please don't think most of us here in the states do this. We have modest showers and most of us do not do the gender reveal party fad. Most of us would put extra money up for our children's education.

      Delete
    3. Showers are not typically done here on this scale. Theirs are always a bit over the top.

      Delete
    4. Trust me. We in the US do not all do such theatrics for showers. But it is Jingers shower and the hosts/hostesses’ have every right to do as they please.

      Delete
    5. Some people do. Some don't.

      Delete
    6. We really don't do this in the states, most of us are like the U.K. People and would never spend this much money on a baby shower. It's sad how tv and Hollywood makes us look in the states. Most of us live humble conservative lives here and not over the top spending like this.

      Delete
    7. Keep in mind, this may be a “ reality” show, but it’s quite a stretch from what average people really do. TLC likely orchestrates much of this fanfare so they have something to film,

      Delete
    8. You're making a judgment about an entire country based on one TV family. Most of us have modest celebrations, not on this scale. In any event, it doesn't look like any of the decorations were expensive. Balloons and cardboard cutouts are cheap ways to add color and pop.

      Delete
    9. Some people go all out for showers and some have simpler ones. It really just depends on the person(s) hosting it. Some people are just very creative and like to make everything beautiful. I think they did a great job on the shower!!! Most likely several people contributed to the decorations. Balloons are inexpensive and decorations can be purchased at Dollar Tree. Just because it looks so nice doesn’t mean it was very expensive. Plus some people buy decorations and reuse them for several showers.

    10. I'm in Canada and this display is very pink lol but not much money was spent on it. Most people don't have big families anymore so I think that's why some commenters feel it is a lot. In my family, I have 20 first cousins on one side and there are already more than 40 babies in the next generation. I'm used to having 50 people at a normal family event whereas I always hear people talk about 10 being a lot to get ready for. My family definitely lives humbly and conservatively but there is just A LOT of us so our parties look like this, too.

      Delete
    11. The other Duggar baby showers that have been shown have not been "over the top". Other than having more people attending than probably most other people have, their food, decor, and games have been pretty normal.

      Delete
    12. I do not like baby showers. I think of them as taboo. I think it's better to wait for the baby to be born then have a welcome baby party. I know nobody likes to think of bad things happening but take it from me bad things do happen to good people. Just because you are pregnant doesn't always mean you will be taking home a baby. This is what I think about and I would hate to have any woman go through a loss after having a shower. I do hope that all goes well for Jinger ( she is my fave) and they have a healthy baby!

    13. I wonder what will happen if Jinger's baby girl ever wants to take ballet lessons? They are against dancing correct?

  4. Love it, but a ballerina? They are against dancing.

    1. How do you know Jinger and Jeremy are against dancing?

      Delete
    2. In response to "why a ballerina?"--- Im a ballerina-- whats wrong with ballerinas!?

      Delete
    3. When did you hear Jinger and Jeremy say that? Are you basing it on hearing Jim Bob's and Michelle's beliefs? Jinger certainly may be holding to this particular teaching of her parents, but you don't have enough information to make the statement you made.

      Delete
    4. I think Jinger and Jeremy have more than proved themselves to be more liberal than the duggar parents, don't you? Perhaps you should bear in mind that they are an adult couple with opinions of their own.

      Delete
    5. If they were liberal enough to approve of dancing, there would have been dancing at their wedding.

      Delete
    6. 4:17..nothing wrong with being a ballerina!! My daughter is a ballerina..beautiful dancer. However, the Duggars have been adament about their opposition to dancing. They believe it causes desires that can’t be fulfilled. And, well, they would NEVER allow any daughter to wear the ballet tights and leotard. Jinger states in her book that her convictions were her own and not her parents, although that seems to be questionable as nearly every “conviction” went the wayside as soon as she married Jeremy( nobody evolves that rapidly). I hope they allow their daughter to dance ballet..in a real ballet studio to Swan Lake or the Nutcracker or Cinderella. Time will tell.

      Delete
    7. Give 10:34 a break! The girls have previously stated they're against dancing, as I recall. I don't think Jinger has ever stated that she's changed her mind. Hence, 10:34's comment.

      Delete
    8. They have not proven themselves to be liberal at all. I don't follow the reasoning for that comment. Wearing pants alone does not make you liberal.

They didn't dance at their wedding. No Duggar has. IFB followers usually don't dance in public. Has Jinger broken free of that part of her upbringing? I doubt it.

      Delete
    9. The shower was arranged by friends who I assume aren't against ballet dancing, but that doesn't say anything about what J+J think about it. That being said I doubt Jeremy would be against dancing. (Neither is Derick and his beliefs seem close to Jeremy's, a much more mainstream version of evangelical Christianity than the Duggars.)

Jinger may or may not be rethinking what her parents taught her about the dancing. Or she may see a difference between a man and woman dancing in a romantic way and some little girl dancing as a performance. Guess time will tell.

      Delete
    10. Jinger and her sisters ALL stated in thier book that they do NOT dance, do NOT wear pants and dress and act in ways that draw attention to their countenance. They specifically state that ALL of these convictions (they discuss in the book) are their OWN and not their parents. so questioning "why a ballerina " is valid as having a daughter dress in ballet tights and do dancing goes against every Duggar conviction

      Delete
    11. I didn't understand the theme either...I heard their religion was against dancing. This is why people tend to shy away from this family. They say one thing but does another. It can be confusing and untrustworthy.

  12. No matter how you may feel about the Duggars, you must admit, it is a bit incredible that their adult children are getting married without any of them having a higher education or career of their own.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I mean for the girls, if they just want to get married and have children there’s nothing wrong with that. Not everyone has the desire to have a career outside of the home. The guys, I don’t understand, since in their family they’re the ones who are the only breadwinner. Although Joseph did go to college.

      Delete
    2. Anon @ 2:22 I agree, many here will say you don't need to go to college to be sucessful which is true, but it is very strange that not one of the Duggar children to date has wanted to go to college or expressed a career goal and then sucessfully achived it on their own merits. Jimbob has a real estate business but it will not be able to provide work for all his sons, and even putting college to one side not one has gone to trade school or apprenticed with a licenced professional in any field. It will be interesting to see in many years time when the show is long gone how they will all be supporting their own large families.

      Delete
    3. No, I have to disagree. You actually don't have to have a college degree to get married. Each of the married Duggar children and their mates seem to be paying all of their bills, so I say more power to them.

      Delete
    4. And having babies!

    5. You don't need higher education or a career!!! Just hard work and save some money!!! My husband and I are in our late 20's and and been married for 10 years! We make over 100k a year... never been on government aid!! It's called SMARTS and HARD work! And I'm sure the duggars all pay their own bills! Because they live debt free!!!!!

      Delete
    6. They are all managing very well and doing better than some couples with degrees!! Compare the divorce rate!

      Delete
    7. I have an advanced degree from a top 20 school. A fancy profession is not all it's cracked up to be. Yes, you have money, but you also have a stressful job. If I had a son, I'd encourage him to skip college and go into a trade. I say "Go Duggars!" in this respect.

      Delete
    8. Anon 7:37, while I don't doubt that you and your husband work hard, if you both work and bring in just over 100k you're making less than the national average per person (about 57k/person). A higher degree can give you a starting salary at the national average and you and your husband could be making more than double what you are now. I wouldn't discredit people who have gotten a degree, it more often than puts you in a much higher pay range

      Delete
    9. This comment has nothing to do with a baby shower. It isn’t new and doesn’t need to be stated all the time. Everyone has freedom of choice whether to go to college or not.

      Delete
    10. I understand what commenters mean about going to college and or getting a trade but my impression (and I could be wrong) is that the Duggars work for themselves and have such a big real estate empire that they don't need to make the higher wage that a professional tradesman would make so it seems like their thinking is, why bother with the tuition when they can learn the knowledge. My family are farmers. One uncle went to an agriculture college. His two sons went to university -- one business and one science and took over the farm. My other uncle did not finish high school. His two sons have not done any post high school schooling; they just believe in working hard. So it is just a difference of opinion and neither is right or wrong.

      Delete
    11. When it comes to secondary education these days if you are able to afford it I would say it’s almost a necessity. While past generations of the Duggars have done well without college, it’s a changing world and very competitive job market. If what they have now in terms of businesses and income stream were gone, they would be better prepared to provide for their families if they had college degrees. I find it hard to believe that out of all of their children none of them have wanted to pursue careers outside of family businesses except Jill. Midwifery is a great profession, made even better by college level education and training. I hope as parents the Duggars are supporting the dreams of their children and not holding them back.

They seem to do well as long as the bottom doesn’t fall out. I enjoy this family and wish the best for them....I believe in today’s world college is important.

      Delete
    12. Can you imagine the Duggars going all out to celebrate one of the girl’s achievements in other areas, such as a COLLEGE graduation or a big job promotion? What if one of the girls had it in them to discover a cure for breast cancer or find a solution to global warming. We will never know, so that says it all.

      Delete
    13. @7:37. Good for you but you obviously do not know anything about salaries and education. ALL young couples I know in their mid to late 20s have joint incomes of well over 100K, 130 to over 200K. No big deal. The single 25 to 27 year olds I know have incomes of 70K to well over 100K. They all have very solid educations. Any student debts they have is easily paid off within a few years of work. When you factor in their benefits-3 weeks vacation a year to start, company contributions to retirement savings, company cell phones....., their ACTUAL salaries are higher.

An education, either degrees or trade certifications, are well worth the effort. Statistical studies on income have clearly shown that those with degrees earn more over their lifetime than those with only high school educations. The same is true for those with trade certifications.

    14. anon@7:37- If it weren't for some people choosing higher education and career, there would be no professionals available to meet your needs- such as doctors, nurses, lawyers, accountants, engineers, scientists, veterinarians, architects, teachers... just to name a few.

    15. 5:57- I've not read any comments here stating that a college degree is required to get married. I think some question why not one of the adult Duggars have chosen a higher education. And it is strange that none of them leave home unless it's to get married.

I read that Jill is 5'5 and Jessa is 5'6 but haven't seen any info on the rest. Please can you ask them, and maybe do an updated FAQ post about all the Duggars including favourite foods, their favourite of the ten commandments, occupations, hobbies and other things us fans would love to know? I respect their privacy and would never ask for weight or other things they might not want to share, I just admire them and would love to know more about them as individuals, and there haven't been any updated FAQ since the one on their home website that is very old! 5. coolsinger198 wouldn't it be neat if the Duggars put out a trivia game? It would be something wholesome my whole family could play together, would help fans get to know them better and truly follow their ministry and also net the family a tidy bundle of profits in sales! Of course I expect the generous Duggar family would donate profits to a women's shelter or other charity, but I wish I had a direct line to someone who knows the family haha, the show is unfortunately very boring/repetitive now, just courtship, engagement, wedding planning, wedding, honeymoon, pregnancy announcement, gender reveal, birth, rinse and repeat. There is SO MUCH MORE we're interested in seeing/finding out about this family! Like how many days a week they go to church, and what they do there! Who cooks at home every night, who orders in, who goes out. What Jana and John get up to, how the littles are doing with homeschool, James' house that he bought, Jana's property, updates on how they dress now, if any married ones (Even JB and M) have plans to adopt, mission trips, all the vacations and outings I see them go on through instagIns but somehow never make it into the show..
there is so much they could show us but don't. I wish the family would just show us them being a real ordinary family, that just happens to be on tv, like they're always said they were, because they're starting to see like a tv family, just a more conservative one than the Kardashian clan.. Does anyone agree that you're bored with counting on and want to see more of the Duggars every day life? Comment back to me :)
      God bless you all, Satana

  18. Has anyone wondered about a name? Of any of the kids, Jinger and jeremy should keep a J theme, since both of them have names beginning with J. There are still plenty left. And they could reuse some of them or variations since the last name is different.
Here is a list for girls: Julie or Juliet or Juliette (sounds great with an Italian last name), Jeraldine with a "J" like Jinger, nicknamed Jeri, Jody, Jeannette or Jean, Joanne or Joan, Jacqueline "Jackie", Jody, Justine, Jasmine, Jemima, Jeneva with a "j", Judith "Judy", Jolynn, Joyce, Janice, Janelle, Jenna, Jessica, Jamie or Jayme.
    For future boys:
Jeffrey or Jefferson, Jacob, Job, Jepthah, Jonathan, Joseph, Jody, Jonah, James or Jamie, Jerald, Joel, Jene with a J, Julian, Jules, Jarrard with a J, Jiancarlo with a J.

  32. Not sure why some need to bring up lack of college for the Duggars. College is great for some, expensive for most, and up to the individual. I went to college, hold a masters degree, taught for 15 years , still pay my loans, and now I'm home with health issues. Sure my career was fine but I am finding my time at home just as rewarding. Each person has to decide fo themselves. Just because they chose parenting doesn't mean college will never happen if they choose.
