    1. I just watched it too & thought it seemed to be at the same point they are showing in the states, it's about time we got up to date with things, thanks to TLC for letting us keep on the same level, at least we won't hear things on here then have to wait eighteen months before we can watch them.

  3. Lily, were the Dillards paid to be on the show? Do the married couples have their own contracts with TLC or do Jim Bob and Michelle control the money?

    1. The burning question of the day!

    2. I often wondered about that as well I think Jim Bob and Michelle still control everything as there are only the older kids on the show and Jim Bob would want all the money to pay for the younger kids.

    3. Legally, Jim Bob cannot control all of the money from TLC. He can not compel the older children to appear and, once they are 18, he cannot control their earnings. They may sign over their earnings to Jim Bob, probably what Jana does.

The individuals appearing on the show would have to sign waivers, if they are not being paid. For the rest, I would expect it would depend on if they appear on an episode and for how long.

Each of the young couples probably do not earn that much, after you divide it out. For the under 18, it would depend on the contract. You would hope that any earnings incurred by their appearances would be set aside for them. This includes the babies.

    1. Because her family will not be in the show

    2. Because she and Derick were fired, or quit, depending on what accounts you believe.

  7. TLC Finland just started airing the show for the first time from the beginning a few weeks ago. Today we had the episode where Jinger and Jeremy start courting.

Thank you so much Ellie for this blog and keeping us international readers up to date! :)

  12. Nice picture BUT it bugs me that the concept is derived from excluding some of this great family and that more and more members get excluded. What happened to the concepts that would keep people in the picture? Do they have to operate on all this exclusion? The Duggars all are the story!

    1. Derick has stated that it was his decision that he and Jill quit the show. They are not be excluded from a anything that wasn't their choice.

    2. TV shows are made to make money, that money is generated by selling advertising time during the show. Controversial comments or actions cause sponsors and advertisers to be reluctant to purchase advertising time during the show. TLC did not create the situations that lead to the exclusion you mentioned. TLC took actions to protect the network and other shows from the negative impact of the comments and actions of others.

  13. It is like that music stop game where one chair keeps getting pulled out. They all look triumphant (Happy cause we are the ones left that all still got a chair this season!)

  15. loving the Duggars!! watched and enjoyed seeing how everyone has grown, only downside is not much of the rest of the family apart from little snippets would love if there was even a few privately made episodes of the wee 1's and Jim Bob and Michelle and Josh and Anna and their family (made by family and friends) as not to step on TLC's toes then it will give people the choice to watch :) Belfast, Northern Ireland

  16. Italian and I would like to see the series but I can not find it anywhere. I would be really happy if it were also transmitted here in Italy and could finally follow you in my language. Thank you, God bless you

  17. It looks weird the way the Duggar girls insist on wearing bulky winter scarves in these promo shoots. Thick, wooly scarves are outdoor wear. It's like they may as well be wearing down coats in the pictures, or mittens. It looks very strange. I don't understand why - with all the other costs associated with production - the network doesn't provide styling for these shoots. Or advice at the very least.

  18. Regardless of Derick wishes, I miss seeing Jill - I want to hear about her and her family - we watched her grow up, get married and have children.

This blog should do everything they can to keep us informed of Jill's family.
    Thanks

  20. They should get off Jana's case. Eyeballing her for her next move! Really we're just looking at a smart lady!

  21. Thanks for info - unfortunately only available in U.K. to those paying to subscribe to Sky, Virgin or BT. We find it's enough to pay for yearly TV licence alone.
    Sadly

  22. I too miss Jill. I don't miss anyone that cast stones at innocent people unless he truly was without sin. The judgement that comes out in the son-in-laws is so distasteful for a family. I guess this comes out in social media. Ben and his misunderstanding of the Catholic statues who represent God, Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the rest. We as Catholics don't warship statues. We as Catholics see the statues and can relate to our Lord and his family when we pray. We pray to our Lord, the heavenly father. Just like the Duggar's have a Christmas Manger to represent the birth of Christ. Small minded and prejudice. Ben and Derrick. Not showing the true beliefs of the Duggar family. Uninformed and lack of education when it comes to Theology. The two that want to minister other folks? It will take more understanding of the people that our Lord created.
