Baby Vuolo at 20 Weeks

Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo is officially halfway through her first pregnancy! She has reached the 20-week mark, which means Baby Vuolo is about seven inches long and weighs approximately ten ounces. He or she might even be starting to grow some hair!

    1. Yes, I thought so, too. I think you see the effects of some weight loss on her most particularly on footage of her wedding and honeymoon. I know a lot of people like to lose weight for their weddings, but Jinger was never overweight to begin with.

    1. How do you know it's a girl?

      Delete
    2. Exactly! To assume it’s a girl because Jinger is small and cute versus huge does not mean it’s a girl!

      Delete
    3. I think it's a girl too! Hope so anyways.

    4. Jinger, will be having a precious little girl. How do I know, she’s carrying the baby high. All the other girls carried their baby low. I carried all 3 of my girls high.

    5. She’s carrying the baby high. It will be a girl.

      Delete
    6. How you carry has nothing to do with the sex of the baby. I carried all 3 of mine low, 2 girls and 1 boy.

    7. I really don't believe you can know. People have guessed it wrong when I was pregnant.

  7. So excited for the Vuolos! And I love seeing Jinger's hair curly again. It's been straight alot lately.

  8. Jinger you look amazing, that's one of the neatest bumps Iv ever seen. Hope all continues to go well for you & you enjoy the next 20 weeks until you meet your lovely baby.

  9. I carried high like Jinger when I was pregnant with my sons

    1. My mom carried high with all her kids, most being girls, everything is based off of your body type, the babies gender doesn't effect your shape

      Delete
    2. Me too! I carried high with all my 4 pregnancies and so I was convinced it’d be a 4th girl and it was a boy. So the gender didn’t matter it was just my body

      Delete
  10. She's barely showing yet. I was huge! Can't wait to hear the gender!

    1. Did you eat a lot?

      Delete
    2. 9:22, more factors come into play when you're pregnant than just eating.

      Delete
    3. LOL@9:22! I don’t think that will go over well! Maybe Jinger is exercising too? Out of 4 pregnancies I was able to workout at a regular pace for 3 of them. It’s was great! Much easier deliveries. I know women who continue to run marathons( obviously with Dr approval). Jinger looks healthy and beautiful.

  11. I don’t understand this tend of comparing the baby’s size to a food. We all know long 7 inches is and 10 ounces is still less than a pound. We know 20 weeks is the half way point in a pregnancy. It just seems so silly.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I actually thought it was a great idea to compare the growing baby to something my kids and I could relate to. It helps you visualize the size of the baby better than just thinking of ounces and pounds.

      Delete
    2. It's cute, why do you feel the need to say rude things towards a first time mom who is showing the size of her baby in an adorable way?

      Delete
    3. I agree with anon at 10:34, I think it's fun, and easier for kids to understand!

      Delete
    4. Melissa, why do kids need to understand? For goodness sake let them be kids. They really are not interested unless they are coerced into believing they have to be interested.

      Delete
    5. I like the analogy

      Delete
    6. 2:34 - It's common for parents to teach their children as they're growing up, and teaching is not always dependent on a child's interest. Do you think that school should be optional for children, depending on whether they're interested in what they're learning?

Not sure why you're opposed to a parent explaining something to their child that they might not understand otherwise.

      Delete
    7. Why are any of you explaining a growing baby bump to children???

      Delete
    8. 9:54 - why would you not? Children are pretty observant. They ask questions. Pregnancy is a part of life, and much easier to explain to children when they get older if you start with the really basic things when they're younger, like the fact that there is a tiny baby growing inside the mom that will continue to get bigger until it's ready to be born. We aren't living in the Victorian Age anymore, when such things were considered taboo to discuss.

When pregnant with my 4th, my Dr. said to bring older 3 girls to the birth of their baby sister! It was wonderful (My mom said No!) She was there, with my 3 girls, outside the room and they were the first to see their baby sister. I have a picture with each of them on their lap, cute stuff! πŸ’žπŸ’“

  12. Are they going to find out the gender or are they going to wait til it is born?

    1. They said they were going to find out, but they haven't said if they'll announce it before the baby is born.

  13. Time moves so fast!! Is she already halfway through her pregnancy? Wow.

  14. Yes Jinger you really do have a baby bump. You don't need to arch your back any longer

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Have you never been pregnant? My back arched with all 3 pregnancies....I wasn't doing it.

      Delete
    2. I don't understand that stance they all do, hands back on hips and belly thrust forward. You can see a bump even with your arms down and standing normally.

      Delete
    3. Can we just stop picking on the way she (or the other preganant women) stand? So not important.

      Delete
    4. Good grief, she has a naturally arching back

      Delete
    5. I’ve been pregnant many times Connie. I never arched my back or put my hand under my belly in every picture to show how big I was. I was pregnant. People got it.

      Delete
    6. My, my, my! Back to the arched back. These people want a pregnant woman to hunch over and walk like a 100 year old person. If they didn’t arch their back and humped over, these crazy, complaining people would then complain because they humped over. Gripe, gripe, gripe. These people probably gripe when the sun shines and it’s a beautiful day. You Duggar girls have class and carry yourselves well. I’m 73 and love you and your family 😍🌟

      Delete
    7. Her back is straight .She is just getting her arm out of the way .Don't be a bully.

      Delete
    8. Ok. About the back arching....I worked in OB/GTN for 20 yrs. When women get pregnant, their bodies release a hormone called elastin. It makes the tendons and ligaments loosen up to give the pelvic strutures room to move and spread as the baby grows.
Some women will appear to have a hyper arched back as a result.
Baby bump....Jingers baby bump did not show right away as this is her first pregnancy. Niw that her abdominal muscles are being stretched, future pregnancies will show earlier.

And gender of baby has nothing to do with carring high or low. It depends on how fit your body is pre pregnancy

      Delete
  15. They all do it, her bump isn't even big enough yet to alter her centre of gravity thst much which would cause her to do it naturally. These young women are all setting themselves up for back problems if they do this in real life and not just for pictures.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree. I hope they only do it when posing for pictures. I have had back problems for many years and had to do special exercises during the last trimester to help with the growing weight of the baby. Doing that arch is a bad idea at all times.

      Delete
    2. Hahahahahahahahaha, back trouble lol. They won’t have back trouble. Some of you people are so negative. I’m 73 and have been truly blessed health wise and in every other way. I was raised on a farm and did all chores I was suppose to do. It’s good for kids to do chores and learn to be responsible. These Duggar girls have done every chore there is. They are strong, independent, courageous, classy women. They can do anything that needs to be done. Yay πŸ’ƒπŸ’₯ Duggar family. Keep right on doing what you are doing and keep the faith😍🌟🌟

    1. Your statement is ridiculous. She is growing, what tent is suitable to your liking?

      Delete
    2. If she wore a loose top you wouldn’t really see the bump....they are too modest to do naked belly pics which many women do these days. The pics of her when she is not intentionally focusing on her bump show her wearing loose appropriate maternity wear.

  18. I wonder if they are told to stand like that to keep the arm facing the camera out of the way for the picture?

    1. No one—I don’t think so as I’ve noticed it’s a trend among my children’s friends who are now married and starting families. Of course we never did photo shoots FOR EVERYTHING either “back in the day”! We just lived!

      Delete
    2. I don't know. I have a bad back. If I stood like that I'd have back spasms for a couple of days after doing that sort of "arch".

      Delete
    3. She is supporting the excess weight carried in her front. Place some weights in a backpack and wear it in your front, you'd be standing like that too.

      Delete
    4. @anon 12:50....what "growing weight"? At 20 weeks the baby only weighs a few ounces. The posture in the picture is a bad idea and if kept will lead to major back problems.

      Delete
    5. If I put an artichoke under my waistband, I wouldn't have to stand like that to balance it out!

      Delete
    6. Hahahahahahahahaha. ReallyπŸ˜‚

      Delete
    7. I don't know...I might stand like that if I had an artichoke under my waist band. Those things have prickers!!

      Delete
    8. It's not just the "artichoke" - google what all causes weight gain in a pregnant woman. A healthy pregnant woman can gain up to 35 pounds or so, and of course it's not all baby.

  19. Tight shirts are more comfortable for some people, I know they were for me. If its a boy or a girl its still a blessing. She looks amazing.

    1. Because they are uncharitably assuming the Duggars are pridefully showing off their pregnant bellies. Or somehow using the pregnancy as an excuse to be immodest. Again, I wonder why some people follow the Duggars if they are so convinced they are such horrid people.

      Delete
    2. I agree - with every single pregnancy we see the same boring comments about how they stand and what they wear and how they carry and how big or little the baby bellies are. I am truly excited for each and every baby born into their family. I'm not bored by the pregnancies, just the repetitive and judgmental comments! :)

  22. Absolutely just wondering...Is it safe to dye your hair while pregnant? I like Jinger's hair color either way, but loved the brunette brown, she had in the pic with the the little suit jacket/sKinny trousers. Just a couple of pics ago showing off her bump.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Doesn’t hurt to dye your hair.

      Delete
    2. I stopped that because the dye is so strong I could actually taste it because the chemicals were quickly absorbed through my scalp tissues in the waiting period. I would recommend a pregnant woman NOT dye her hair because she does INjest the dye chemicals into her body through her scalp.

  23. With girls, you tend to fill out everywhere. Jinger looks like she could be carrying a girl, because her face is a little fuller. Still thin, but fuller. Also, she is carrying up high.

  24. We'll probably learn next Monday what she's having ! So exciting !
I bet the Monday after that it'll bΓ© jessa's pregancy announcement

    1. Jessa may not be pregnant, Henry may still be nursing. Why the rush?

      Delete
    2. Henry could still be nursing and Jess could, in fact, be pregnant. Nursing doesn't always prevent a pregnancy, per my OB-GYN. It's heavily dependent on how much the child is still actually consuming, which is kind of hard to measure. ;)

  27. The growing size of an expectant woman's abdomen is no one's business but the couple's business. Why do these people insist on posing for the camera for the world to see. Not modest OR in good taste.
