3 Pregnant Duggar Daughters

Joy Duggar Forsyth, Kendra Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo pregnant

Until Gideon Forsyth arrived in late February, there was a span of a few months when Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Joy Duggar Forsyth, and Kendra Duggar were all pregnant. The three Duggars did a photo shoot with TLC to show off their baby bumps just a couple weeks before Joy gave birth.

Three years ago around the same time, three different Duggars (also two daughters and one daughter-in-law) were pregnant at the same time. Jessa Duggar Seewald was expecting Spurgeon Seewald, Anna Duggar was pregnant with Meredith Duggar, and Jill Duggar Dillard was just a short while away from welcoming Israel Dillard.

  1. Man you just about had me thinkin there was another one pregnant, cuz Joy has already given birth! Anyway, it was cute though! Especially the 2nd pic.

Now I’m noticing a new header and boy howdy, I don’t like it!! 🙁 The green colour is nice but the pics are so inconsistent with some really close up, and others ever so far away, and they’re so difficult to see! Even tapping on it to enlarge and turning my phone as well, only makes it worse, cuz then they’re extra blurry!!! 🙁

    1. If you don't know what the Duggars look like by now, a different header is not going to help. Ellie can't put up a new header each month as the family grows and changes.

    2. Well we all know what the Duggars look like. It’s seems to be more decorative than informative. It’s fine

    3. I think the new header is very pleasant. The green is calm and gentle looking, and I'm SO glad the children's pictures (for the most part) are continuing to be kept after their parents' pictures. Some of the pictures are not the individuals' best shots, but they're natural and beautiful as always. Thank you Ellie for taking the time to update the header. You do a great job with the blog!

    4. Don’t judge the new header! I can guarantee Lily and Ellie put a lot of time and effort into. Just be glad they took the time to update. It’s appalling how much people complain there ISNT an updated headed even though the duggars have courtships and babies so often it’s hard to keep up with it all. Besides, why do you need to see the header? If you’re here on this blog, you know what the Duggars look like! And obviously you read the posts — just look at the pictures on them. I would try and think before you speak and try to put yourself in others shoes before judging.

    5. The header that was used before, I actually like. I liked that you could see the kiddos better. Wish that was used for not just the duggar family, but the bates as well. Please fix header.

    1. Ugh! I can't stand the word preggo. Please say "pregnant" instead.

    2. I don't like that word either, but it is fun sharing a time of being pregnant with a family member. I've been able to have that experience with a sister and a sister-in-law, and it just made it extra special.

    4. I don't think 'Suz' needs to alter her vocabulary because some Anonymous person doesn't like a certain word. If you prefer the word 'pregnant' then use it to your heart's content. But don't tell others they shouldn't use a word because you choose not to use it.

    5. I say prego, and I won't stop. I don't like "baby bump," but I don't expect anyone to stop saying it just because I don't like it. :)

  5. Love the new header especially with Grandma Duggar and Josie together. The grandkids each of their own picture together except Josh's kids. Just a little constructive (yet respectful) critisim....how about a picture of just Josh and Anna and then just their kids beside them? Very nice pictures in the header though.

    1. I do like the new header but I have to ask why are the other grandkids in there own pictures but josh and Anna’s kids don’t? It could be as simple as they don’t have a photo of all there children together without the parents? I don’t know. Would be nice to see the kids together like Jill and Jessas children

    3. Well, if they’re going to call the Duggar girls Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Jill Duggar Dillard, etc. they should do the same for the Duggar daughter-in-laws. Anna Keller Duggar, Kendra Caldwell Duggar, soon-to-be Lauren Swanson Duggar, so on and so forth.

  10. Why always in Jessa's house? I do like her house...but it'd be a breath of fresh air to have photo shoot, say in Kendra's house, or Jill's...we still have never found out where Joes live...and the Duggars haven't been so private on the houses of jessa, jill, jinger, and Josh. So it does come off as a mystery that we've never seen 1 pic of Joe and Kendra's house. I respect it if they want privacy, that's not the issue, just think it strange we haven't heard anything about their home.

    1. You are talking out of both sides of your mouth. If you did respect their privacy, you would not be complaining because you don't have all of their personal information that you want.

    2. They are on a tv show. No privacy there.

    3. Anon at 10:09AM: Uh no, being on a TV show does NOT mean the Duggars totally give up their privacy. I'm pretty sure we'll see Joe and Kendra's house next season. But I doubt we'll ever find out their exact address, or that of the others. For obvious reasons not just of privacy but security and safety.

  12. I would love to meet Kendra someday! I met the Duggars girls a couple of years ago but they were very standoffish and kept to themselves at an event. I think, by observing Kendra's personality, that she would be delighted in meeting you, very bubbly and down to earth, and make a person feel welcomed...I think too much publicity and stardom has affected the Duggars already, that they can't relate to the general public anymore and can do what they want to do. But it hasn't caught up with Kendra yet...so I would say to enjoy her as much as possible! Don't get me wrong I still love the Duggars and like to keep up with them but they sure have changed (money has changed them) from years ago when the show going for just a few years.

    1. Was it around the time of the scandal with Josh? That could be why they were standoffish. The family was going through a tough time, that could be why. I'm just guessing so it could be something else too. Glad got to meet them.

      Delete
    2. I was thinking the same thing. They may have been going through something at the time. Don’t judge them from meeting them only one time. You also don’t know if someone else just said something really unkind to them and hurt them their feelings.

      Delete
  13. Also I want to add to my comment above that Joy was not standoffish. She was the most welcoming and smiling one and didn't mind meeting people out of-Jessa, Jinger, and Jana. (Jill wasn't there). But that just happened to be my experience when I saw the Duggars for the first time. I guess I have always had a favorable feeling towards Joy because of that!

    1. That's odd. Most people who have met the Duggars describe them as being friendly and nice. Being on display like that must get old though.

    2. People sometimes have an "on" mode when they're in public meeting people, and an "off" mode when nobody's looking. I've seen people switch on and off during a single event.

  15. It would be great to see at least some of the Duggar daughters posing in cap and gown with diploma in hand from an accredited institution of higher learning. Yup, college isn't for everyone, but it seems as though there's a path of domestic life already mapped out for them in one way or another. If they don't get married, they must stay home and help out on that front. I sincerely hope these daughters are not discouraged from seeking something different.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's a tacit discouragement. You're given examples all your life of women who didn't go to college, and they are praised for their fertility and place in the home. Piece those messages together from your childhood on, and you can see what the expectations are for you. How do you disappoint your whole family by going to college, getting a career, and putting motherhood aside, when your family has those firm views on female roles?

      Delete
    2. I feel the same way. When I see this picture, I think about how I was having the time of my life in college when I was their ages.

      Delete
    3. Of course they are discouraged from seeking something different.

      Delete
    4. They don't seem interested in pursing any career other than working for dad. I'm not sure how much longer flipping cars and maintaining rental property can support the family as it is growing so rapidly.

      Delete
    5. Anon @ 11:58 You are so right. I will never forget Joys face when she 'graduated' when asked what her plans were, there was no college, no training, no job or travel, just that she would be helping her mom with the little ones, she looked so downcast. Jessa after she married said how difficult marriage was sitting waiting for your husband to come home, it was like she was killing time until she got pregnant. College isn't for everyone thats true but no one finds it odd that not one of these girls wants to go, and all have gone from their parents home to marriage with a baby on the way within months (or straight away for two), not one has ever held a job? I honestly believe they are told it is what they must do, and if your parents won't pay for college and you cannot go out alone you really have little choice.

      Delete
    6. Maybe some will decide to take some online classes in the future

      Delete
    7. I agree. The fact that none of the Duggars ever went to college is a clear sign that higher education is discouraged in that family, and this is not a good thing for our society.

      Delete
    8. They should look to the Bates. Same religion but al the girls work or go to school. So much better.

    9. Actually we need more people to learn trades in our country. We also need to get rid of some of the ridiculous degrees that people can get in college. Too many people are getting into debt for degrees that they will never be able to use or won’t make enough to pay back their student loan debt. Some people don’t believe into going into debt for college. Since the Duggars are paying their own bills and not living off welfare, they get to choose how they make their money. I don’t understand why people always have to comment on their choice not to go to college. It isn’t new. The kids are not in prison, so they decide for themselves. By the time they reach adulthood, they have already been working for years. If they choose to continue the work they have already been doing, why does it matter to any of you? They don’t tell you what to do for work.

      Delete
    10. They could leave home if they wanted to. They are of legal age. I don't know why they don't fly out of the nest unless they marry.

      Delete
    11. I'm sure society won't suffer because the Duggar women aren't pursuing higher education.

      Delete
    12. You don't need to go to college to have things to do during the day. Jessa could have gotten out and volunteered somewhere before she had kids. That's what many retired people do.

      Delete
    13. People need to stop implying that the Duggars would have student loan debt if they went to college. If they can afford to fly one of their planes to dinner somewhere, they can afford to pay for a semester of college. Same with their constant trips and vacations. You know that family can afford to send anyone to college.

      Delete
    14. College,at least here, could mean learning a trade which the Duggars do not seem to do. It does not only imply earning a 4 year degree. Most trades now require time in the classroom as well as years of apprenticeship.

They only seem to earn real estate and private pilot licences and on-line midwife certificates. If they can afford the cost of private pilot lessons and ground school, they can afford going to college to become a licenced electrician, for example.

An education is never a waste and increasing a college associate degree or a 4 year basic Arts degree is the basic requirement for many entry level positions. Only jobs at fast food restaurants, retail, delivery...might hire someone with only a ged. And it is a might. Even truck drivers here MUST take and pass courses.

The days of earning a decent living with only a ged or high school diploma are coming to an end.

A young person who has earn some kind of post-secondary accredited training has proven they have the work ethic ,the literacy and numeracy skills to complete the training. GED and a high school diploma does not demonstrate that. Someone with a 4 year degree or associate degree has at least an average intelligence, has shown that they can learn and retain information and hence are trainable. Even a 4 year Arts degree required studying and working hard.

I have been in position of interviewing and hiring young people.

A further advantage of an education that it encourages the development of critical thinking skills. Young people learn to question and think for themselves. This is paramount in any democracy.

  18. This is very cute. But sadly I am sure there will be plenty of people expressing their disdain for the Duggar girls showing off their pregnant bellies, as if being pregnant is something shameful to be hidden away. As comments have yet to be posted as I type this, I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Do you see the Duggar girls showing off anything about their bodies before they become pregnant? No, which is why it becomes very odd that they arch backs, wear tight clothes, and continually touch and photograph their bellies when pregnant. That's the issue here, not any shame about being pregnant. There's never been an explanation about why their standards of modesty or body viewing completely disappear once conception occurs. That's what's confusing, not the fact that they're pregnant.

Same with the sudden appearance of shorts, pants, and sleeveless tops, with no explanations. It's too confusing.

      Delete
    2. There's nothing shameful about being pregnant, but the focus of their lives seems to be posting public photos of their pregnant selves. It starts to come across as boastful- hardly humblle or modest. People have every right to have and express an opinion, even if it isn't giving glowing praise. Some of the Duggars have openly expressed their opinions about the Catholic faith and GLBT individuals. Would you call their views disdainful?

      Delete
    3. IMO - showing off bellies is contradictory to the Duggar's advertised modesty standards. I wouldn't say it's "Drawing attention to our countenances" as Michelle described it. So it's confusing to then see the women draw attention to their bodies. I have never seen a commenter say or imply that being pregnant is something shameful. Of course it isn't

      Delete
    4. I agree it's very contradictory to the standards they have shared with viewers on TV all these years. Cradling bellies in fitted shirts draws no attention to their faces.

      Delete
    5. I'd like to see one of them take a stand and say this is my (pregnant) body, it's private, and I'm not exposing it to the public for comment. I'd also like to hear one of them say that the birth is private, not for filming, and the pictures of my baby are not for sale. That I would respect and applaud. They don't seem to realize that you can enjoy your pregnancy and your new baby without sharing any of it with the public. Babies should not be commodities to make you more famous or richer. That isn't right.

      Delete
    6. This is not modest anymore.

      Delete
    7. I don’t understand when people say it’s “confusing” that some of the Duggar girls wear pants now. They no longer think it’s mandatory, and that’s totally fine. And it’s probably hard to find a respectful way to say “ oh yeah, those were my parents rules, and while I always agreed with them when I was younger, after I moved out and started my own family, realized it was so extreme, and not even biblical”

      Delete
    8. Agree that Duggar modesty standards seem to go out the window when there's a chance to display the "baby bump."

      Delete
    9. Being pregnant is not, of course, shameful and that is not why people are commenting.

The Duggars are sending the message that the ONLY acceptable role is for women to be pregnant. They are making too much of a big deal about it and it is actually disrespectful. These young women are not in competition with each other to see whose bump is bigger.

Expecting a child should be a special time between a man and woman. It should not be trivalized:-)

      Delete
    10. I worry about what message this sends the younger Duggar girls. "Your sisters get all sorts of attention and publicity because they're pregnant." That sets the stage for expecting the younger girls to become mothers as soon as possible, too.

    3. I think the fans just naturally expect these girls to have large families because they're all parroting Michelle and Jim Bob's "We want as many children as the Lord will allow.". I say parroting because I don't think any of these young ladies have considered that they could potentially lose children like their mom also (God forbid). I'm not sure how very new marriages, between very young spouses, could handle that. That's not a slam; these young couple just still have some growing up to do. Michelle and Jim Bob had been married a lot longer before they had children and began facing some real challenges. They were more emotionally and spiritually mature individually, and as a couple (more self-sufficient and better equipped too). Having lost a baby well into our married life, it was challenging even with a strong marriage. It doesn't matter to me if they choose to have 1 child, ten, or none, as long as I'm not supporting mine and theirs too. LOL

  30. It's puzzling to see the current fad of sharing pregnancy photos of every stage for the expressed purpose of showing off baby bumps. I guess if you want them for personal reasons, that's one thing- but sharing them with the world? I don't get it. I am a mom and understand the fuss over a new baby, but are people really that fascinated with seeing someone else's expanding middle or flaunting their own? I'd like to think women are valued for something other than their ability to be pregnant and give birth.

    1. I see nothing wrong with taking pictures like that to document family history.

But I see EVERYTHING wrong with posting them online for the world to see! For all the critique you'll get, for your own personal gain through publicity, or just for attention getting. For a family that's all about modesty, flaunting expanding body parts is not modest at all!

      Delete
    2. TLC did the photo shot. Obviously being on the show requires them to have their pictures taken for publicity sometimes. The pictures are very sweet, and it was wonderful that they were able to experience pregnancy together.

    3. Anonymous #1- I completely agree with every word you said. I'm pro-life, love children, think pregnancy is a special time and a beautiful thing, and am happy that they want children. However, the tight tops and belly cradling selfies are far from modest or even humble. They didn't give life to those babies, so they shouldn't be taking credit for it by posing proudly and posting it like it's some kind of personal achievement. Those tight tops show off way more than the baby, especially for ladies concerned with modesty ("Can anyone say 'Nike'?"). There's no reason these young ladies can't just take a picture in a looser maternity top. There are tons of stylish, non-form fitting ones available today and they can definitely afford them given the spa days/date nights/vacation trips. There's just such a fine, thin line between sharing and showing off. I think the they should check their motivation- Is it building the other person (in this case, the viewers) up or is it harmful to them? How is posting frequent/regular pictures of my pregnant self in tight clothing, accentuating all of my figure, building up my brothers and sisters in the Lord? Is my regular posting my developing baby harming those who have suffered loss or who are unable to conceive? Am I even mindful of them or considering their pain?

    4. Well they do have fans that want to see these photos.

    5. People post pics like that on fb all the time.

    6. 2:10- People with common sense use privacy settings on FB and share only with friends and family.

    7. People say and do horrible things on Facebook all the time, too. That doesn't make it right.

    8. Are you not on social media? Every single one of my pregnant friends take these photos, and they are adorable! They are growing a baby a documenting it, there’s nothing wrong with that.

    9. I always appreciate the few times I encounter such Biblical wisdom on this blog, 10:15! Thank you for your beautifully articulated comment~an encouragement to think of others with social media, especially those professing Christianity.

    10. Anonymous @10:15....the Duggars are not opposed to these photos and like many of their fans do not think they lack modesty or humility. The world is filled with people who have different opinions and ideas. Please allow the Duggars and fans who enjoy them room to be who they are. You can chose to not watch the show or search them online if you don’t want to see them.

  31. When do we get to see a photo of 3 daughters (or in-laws) holding up college graduation diplomas? That one, I'd love to see.

  32. I don't like the new photos. I liked the old format. The pictures are not clear and the kids are bunched together. You can't tell what name belongs to what child. Please redo and have individual photos again. Thank you

    1. Mostly I don't like the inconsistency. Josh and Anna share a picture with their kids but the others don't. It's weird to have different formats for each.

    2. Does it really matter?

  33. Yes, we know you got pregnant, girls. Most girls can do that. But what else can you do? Where are the fun signs pointing to your other abilities or accomplishments?

    1. That's not very nice. Being a good mom is a huge accomplishment, and not every woman that has a baby is a good mom. They are fulfilling their God given roll, and that is enough for them. They are investing in what really matters.

      Delete
    2. 9:50- Somehow I think all the women who have invested in being doctors, lawyers, teachers, scientists, and any number of other professions would say that what they do really matters. Sure, being a good mother is essential if you choose to have kids, but it isn't the only path to fulfillment or contribution to society.

    3. For some of us actually getting pregnant is an accomplishment, it took me 4years to get a degree but almost 5 to get pregnant. so, for me it was not easy as you think (or the Duggar girls made it seem). Fertility it's not a given. Now I can talk About it without breaking up in tears but I'm sure there are a lot of women who this topic is very hard. I'm genuinely happy for their successful pregnancies but at the same time I wish there would be a little more sensitivity on this issue even in the comments.

    4. Being a mother is the highest accomplishment that a woman can do in the world. If she's Godly and training a child in the right way, that's the that's the MOST she can ever do for society. She IS working for the society! Because as she trains and teaches, that child will become a respectable citizen and not a menace to society

    5. The highest accomplishment a woman can do is NOT motherhood. I save my praise for those women who work EVERYDAY to save lives as doctors or nurses. I save my praise for women who work everyday as engineers and technicians who design life-saving devices, for teachers for educate young people...

    6. I respectfully disagree. Being a mother is not the highest accomplishment a woman can “do.”

    7. @1:41

I respectfully disagree. Not every woman wants to be a mother or can be a mother. If a woman is a teacher who teaches children to use their minds to help society, or a lawyer who focuses on children's rights, or a doctor who saves children's lives, do her accomplishments not matter, because she does not have her own children?

  34. You know, I find this to be a adorable picture. As far as Kendra being called a daughter, so what if she is not technically blood. She and Joe are one, I think accepting her as one of the daughters is the way it should be. Joy is carrying that 10 lb boy, with a smile on her face. You know she had to be uncomfortable in this pic. I do not understand why people leave such critical comments on this blog. It is a fan blog. What is so wrong with showing the baby bumps? When I was pregnant, to have these kind of pictures with the growing bump, was nice to have to a memory, of the blessing God has given me. They are all modestly dressed. Look at magazines of all the celebrities showing off baby bumps, they wear tight clothing, spilling out EVERYWHERE! This photo is tastefully done, and I'm sure TLC did it for the true fans. We may not know these girls personally, but he have watched them grow and mature with time. They are all beautiful. I think it is awesome they have this memory. I just think we should be uplifting to them, they go through enough negativity in the media. Praying for all you beautiful ladies.

    2. I love your comment and agree. I think their shirts are modest. My word! These celebrity women pose with their bellies exposed. That is immodest. The Duggar girls are not wearing low cut shirts or shirts with holes all in them.

    3. They posted a pregnancy picture one time that was the most immodest picture I'd ever seen of a Duggar. I won't go into specifics but it was shocking.

  37. I agree with the posters here who see these pregnancy photos being shared with the free world as just not tasteful. It's one thing to privately enjoy this time with family, but it IS another thing to put them on the internet. Just not classy, tasteful OR modest. Since this family claims to be so conservative, it's more noticeably wrong.

  38. I think the girls are beautiful. Nothing wrong with showing your baby bump. Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman’s life, and I think the bigger they get, the more beautiful they are.

  39. I thought that was cousin Amy in the last picture. That doesn't look like Jessa at all.

  40. I wish someone would take an anonymous poll of random people’s sentiments on the appropriatness and and appeal of seeing skin tight clothes on pregnant women.
It’s the only way to get honest answers because no one wants to hurt the feelings of a pregnant woman, nor do they want to diminish the importance and beauty of the unborn child within. But I can see feellings run strong on both side of these issues.

    1. Women - pregnant or not - should wear whatever they want. The reason some take issue with the Duggar women wearing skin tight maternity clothes is because they've repeatedly stated on their show, in interviews, and in books, that they shun form-fitting clothing that draws attention. It's contradictory.

    2. I get the feeling they may think "any man who actually gets turned on by seeing a baby bump is a pervert, and women shouldn't be responsible for that".

Most women who promote modesty and "natural birth" also promote breastfeeding, even in public. And while the majority do recommend doing so discreetly, others will state "any man who gets tempted by watching a woman breastfeed has issues and I won't let my baby starve because of that".

Now of course many who find the whole idea of modesty to be sexist will claim "I think ANY man who lusts after a woman is 100% responsible for that, and there's no sin in a woman walking around naked if she wants to, it's her body".

But I think many people think of modesty as going beyond merely trying not to stir up lust. They would say the whole idea of showing off a baby bump, even if everything else is covered, is boasting, and therefore immodest.
