Duggars Return in 2 Weeks!

new season of Counting On

February 26th felt like an eternity when we first made the announcement about the new season of Counting On, but time is marching on, and we're only two weeks away from the big day. If you haven't already seen the first look video that we posted a short while ago, click here to watch it on a previous post.

  1. As always, I am looking forward to see the adult Duggar children. They are all such nice people. I have really enjoyed seeing Joe grow in his role as a suitor and fiancee and now husband and father to be. I am hoping to see Jana and John David and hear what they are doing as well. Only a short time to go now! Eileen

    1. I hope the show lives up to your expectations. Perhaps we'll get to see Joy's baby on the episodes.

    2. The season finale will probably be Joys baby being born, since it's not even here yet.

  2. Mighty small group of Duggars, with some people obviously missing. What's with the scarf hanging down on Joy? Can't tell if she's pregnant or not. Wonder how old those pictures are. (It looks like a composite of individual pictures?)

    1. I think the picture was taking last year.

  3. Looking forward to the new season and hopeful for at least some current content. I notice no Jill or Derick in the promo pics, rats I hoped they would resolve that issue so we could watch their kiddos grow.

    1. It was my understanding that Derrick doesn't WANT to be on the show. He seemed to have some conflicts with TLC and quit. I'm not sure what Jill will be doing. Perhaps she will continue to be on the show.

      Delete
    2. It is resolved. Derick doesn't work with TLC any more. If you listen to his side, it was his idea. If you listen to TLC's side, you don't know what happened.

      Delete
    3. Sometimes the kids pay the price for the problems of the dad.

Derrick may have cost his family money and tv time with his pants.

      Delete
    4. According to Derrick he NEVER worked for tlc therefore he never got fired. Derick said he left the network on a voluntary basis bc of ministry work.

      Delete
    5. It's called standing up for what you believe! He didn't cost his kids ANYTHING.... Maybe he doesn't want them on TV

      Delete
    6. I'm confused on that. TLC's statement made it sound like JUST Derrick would no longer be on the show, but Jill and the babies still would be.

      Delete
    7. If Head of Household Derick isn't on the show and said he's pulled out, then Jill should not be on the show either, by their own rules. And yes, he did say he was never employed by TLC, which is splitting hairs. He got their money.

    8. It would be much better for their kiddos to instead grow up seeing Mommy and Daddy earn a proper living, rather than riding a reality tv gravy train through life, begging for money online, or hopping from job to job every few months with massive stretches of unemployment in between.

  4. Can't wait to see the Duggar clan again. Would like to see more of Michelle and the younger girls. I'm counting down the days to "Counting On"...Jane

  5. Less than half the people there used to be. When will TLC realize that this show has run its course?

    1. Many people still enjoy watching it.

    2. Maybe they’ll eventually run out of people as they kick more and more off. Who’s next? I have my money on Joy and Austin.

      Delete
    3. If they haven’t concluded that yet, it’s possible they never will.

      Delete
    4. Anon @ 9:51 Not to be rude but I'm not sure why, its like watching reruns. The show has gotten so repetitive, they just change out the main characters each season for weddings babies etc. It really has run out of steam.

      Delete
    5. 3:36, this is 9:51, and it's fine that's not rude. While I don't like watching the rerun episodes, I don't mind if the footage isn't new, as long as we haven't actually seen it already. I mainly watch it for Jinger and Jeremy, and I like seeing the new babies.

  6. Don't get me wrong, I'll be watching, lol, I have been for years. But it's getting a little strange and awkward that family members are purposely not being shown. If they are a strong family they need to say, it's all of us or none of us! It's not supposed to be about a show, it's supposed to be about family and God, Right?!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Some of the family members stepped away from the show by choice. As in they no longer wish to be on the show.

      Delete
    2. I was thinking it's possible they all as a family have considered not participating in the show at all. But, it could be they have a contractual agreement with the network to fisnish up. But, then again, a show can be canceled for any reason too. So, who really knows for sure?

      Delete
    3. I doubt TLC signed them up for a 20-year contract.

      Delete
    4. Agree! Surprising the family doesn't stick together. They choose to continue to get the lucrative paycheck while TLC takes issue with their close family members. TV has really done something to this family.

      Delete
  7. Cant wait! Will they being showing Tyler?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There is no reason to show Tyler or any of the minor children.

      Delete
  8. After looking at that downsized group, I can't help but wonder who is going to be the next one to say or do something that makes TLC upset...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well, their mindset is kind of against the modern culture that tlc appeals to.

      Delete
    2. The only person fired by TLC was Josh, Derrick quit on his own.

      Delete
    3. Well, polygamous relationships aren't exactly modern culture, and TLC seems to be overdosing on those lately.

  9. I understand that Derick won't be on the show but I'm sad that Jill isn't on thé new pic for the show. I loved Jill !

    1. I'm glad she isn't going to be on. It wasn't fun watching her stress, cry, and be scared about not being in the US. She needed a break from the camera. She has enough to handle without having an audience watching.

      Delete
    2. She'll probably still be on, she just won't be a main focus.

      Delete
    3. I would be very surprised if Jill is on the show as Dericks statement made it very clear that he removed his FAMILY from the show, his family would mean Jill and the boys.

      Delete
    4. If Derick allows Jill to be back on the show without him, he is going to get called a hypocrite for sure. Jill should stand with her husband anyway and stay off the show. Money or no money.

      Delete
  10. Love the new photo! They all look great!

    ReplyDelete
  11. As long as they don't do any shows about babies teething, I think it will be a good show.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm boycotting the show until they bring back Jill and Josh!

    1. And as a result contribute to the reduction in ratings.

It is not TLC that is not including Josh and Jill and their families on the show. Josh and his family should be left in peace. It is healthier that the couple deal with their problems in privacy.

As for Jill, Derick made the decision to take his family out of the limelight. I do not agree with many of the views of this family. But Derick is putting his principals before financial gain. And that is admirable..

      Delete
    2. Josh will never come back. If TLC tries, their inbox is going to be very full.

      Delete
    3. Just because Jill isn't on the cover doesn't mean she won't be on the show at all. And Josh is never coming back, more people would stop watching it if he did, than people who are watching it because he's not on.

      Delete
    4. People would boycott the show if Josh was on it!

      Delete
  13. So sad no Jill or Derick. I would like to see their children grow as well, but completely understand why they CHOSE to stay off tv. They are a sweet, loving couple and this industry can break you down, I'm sure. Will miss them ALOT!! Just won't seem the same. Jill was such a main character of the show.

    ReplyDelete

    1. That's Derick's side of the story, that he chose for them not to be on. TLC has their side, too.

  14. Looking forward to It. The sad part is my favorite couple Jill & Derek Dillard won't be on the show. But Iam looking forward to the rest of the counting on season & Josiah's second courtship with a new lady in his life Lauren. Hoping Jing & Jeremy have a girl & Joy & Austin. Time 7:25PM

    ReplyDelete
  15. It will not be the same without Jill. . . . she has always been my favorite.
Do not think I will watch - just keep up with the ENTIRE family on this site.

    ReplyDelete
  16. where is Josiah's girlfriend? Will she not be featured in the new season? Will Jill not be featured at all either?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Just because someone isn't on the cover, doesn't mean they won't be featured.

      Delete
    2. I think they won't show her in the promo pictures until they are married or at least engaged.

      Delete
    3. Ben was featured in the show photo before they were engaged. I thought it was weird.

      Delete
    4. You probably won't see or hear about her until next season, by that time they will be married and probably have a bun in the oven lol!

      Delete
  17. Derrick hasn't really added anything to the show the last couple of seasons, but Jill has, and she'll be really missed. But there are new married couples,a new courtship and new babies coming this season, so there'll be plenty to fill us in on.

    1. How do so many of you not understand; the Duggars have a CONTRACT with TLC, they can't just move to a new station. And quite frankly, I don't think there is a station out there that would take on Josh.

      Delete
    2. I’m pretty sure they’re done counting.

      Delete
    3. All contracts have an end date. At some point, the Duggars could refuse to re-sign with TLC. I have no doubt they have been shopping other networks and venues. They aren't going to let this income stream stop when a TLC contract stops.

      Delete
  20. Maybe they're saving Josiah's story for another season. Preparation for courtship...asking her father...courting...asking her father again...a surprise engagement...a wedding...and several episodes of wedding prep flashbacks. All in that order. Could stretch a whole other season out of this.

    1. Yep, that and the three new babies will be the next seasons plot. I think it'll be fun to see that many babies being born close together though, and Jessa will probably at least be pregnant by the end of the year, if not have another baby, so the next season will probably be more interesting.

      Delete
    2. Why do so many assume Jessa will have another baby. Perhaps she will wait two years and give her body a break and her boys some time before adding to their family.

      Delete
    3. Kathy, she could but I doubt it, unless they really are planning to adopt.

  21. I wish the whole Duggar family would get picked up by UP or another station so we can see everyone. Of course I can't see anything on UP since they do not allow Amazon to air their shows, but at least then I could see clips on here of everyone.

    1. I totally agree with you! Also, Amazon airs the Bates and they’re an UP show.

      Delete
    2. Maybe a major network will pick up the show and air real-time live episodes a few times a day so we can keep up with everything Duggar as it happens!!

    3. I shouldn't have read 12:40's comment with a mouth full of coffee...

    1. nor did we see what happened with Jill delivering Samuel

    2. Nor will we ever, something happened, Samuel went into distress in some way because he is hooked up to IVs and monitors in two pictures

  24. I love watching this family but I will not be watching due to TLC not having Jill and Derick on because of their belief. The show is about the belief and it is wrong to not have them on it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Derick said he quit

      Delete
    2. Derick claims it was his idea to leave the show. Derick’s belief was not the problem, it was the way he expressed it.

      Delete
  25. So glad they're back, can hardly wait for it! I wish Jessa would get her own spin-off though so we'd see more about her babies growing up instead of repeating the same-ole-same-ole...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'd like a Jinger spinoff, especially if she decides to do some photography after the baby is born. I have a friend who homeschools her 4 kids, and she takes them with her to do photo shoots.

      Delete
    2. If Jinger hasn't been pursuing any type of work, career or education as a stay-at-home wife, I cannot imagine why she would pursue any of those things after becoming a mom.

      Delete
  26. Anon @ 8:52 This show stopped being about their beliefs a long time ago. They very rarely mention it any more. Derick also said HE removed himself and his family from the show so you can't blame TLC.
