  5. Getting married on the first birthday of the first child of your sister, the arrogance is astonishing! I truely do not understand, there are 365 days in a year and it is not like it is some distant relative.

    1. I'm sure if Jessa had any sort of issue with it she would have shared that with her sister. You may well be the only one with the issue!

    2. It is not arrogant! Be realistic with 19 kids birthdays and anniversaries are going to overlap. I guarantee you that Spurgeon didn’t care! This family is used to sharing special days.

    3. With a family the size of the Duggars, it would be impossible to find a date for every special occasion that didn't overlap with somebody's birthday. I don't think it matters as long as they are in agreement with each other on these things.

    4. People normally get married on a Saturday, so no, there aren't 365 days in the year to get married on in one given year.

    5. Anon 9:48 People don’t normally get married on a Saturday in every religion but I guess you’ve forgotten about the Old Testament. That’s is a religious day to many and so no weddings can be performed until after sundown. Know your bible. I got married on Sunday.

    6. I find your comment judgemental which is as bad as arrogance. From my perspective I think it's an honour for my sister to get married on my son's bbirthday.

    7. I believe Jinger and Jeremy got married on her Grand Mother Marys' anniversary. I read that Jinger selected that date to honor her Grand Parent's and their loving marriage.

Joy-Anna also got married on her Grand Mother Mary's Birthday this past May.

I got married in December. It met everyone else's schedule. I really wanted to get married in July. If I could do it all over again I would choose the same date. It is not about the date! It is about the joy in the union of marriage when all of your Family and friends can be there to celebrate with you.

Why must people be so unkind? Dates are often chosen to meet the schedules of an entire wedding party. People have to coordinate time off with their Employers, make travel arrangements, and etc.

Honeymoon cost, and weather will also affect what date you choose to get married.

Instead of sharing in the joy of a one year anniversary we have to be critical?

Congratulations Jinger and Jeremy! May God richly bless you both as you serve God together! Enjoy all that married life encompasses! The two of you are so perfect for each other! Truly, a marriage made in Heaven!

    8. I didn't even know she got married on her nephews birthday, and yeah that is a little strange. I would have kept that day special for him and picked my own special day for me.

    9. I find it arrogant for someone to judge someone else for something as relatively trivial as this.

    10. It's kind of more selfish to demand that no one else can celebrate something on your birthday because it's "your day" (mine!mine!mine!).

    1. Do you know how hurtful these words might be to them? My husband and I didn't get pregnant for 2 1/2 years after we married but it wasn't because we didn't want to.

    3. Your comment is very appropriate and I too have noticed no babies. Congratulations!!!

    4. Who cares? When and if they have children is their business.

    5. Very unusual for this family.

    6. Rarely do I comment...but what a bizarre thing to say!

    7. Anon @ 10:22 I don't think the reason they havn't had a baby is due to trouble conceiving. Jeremy made it very clear a few months back that babies do not feature in their immediate plans, but fit somewhere in a five year plan. They are obviously taking steps to prevent pregnancy, what that is is no ones business but theirs.

    9. My comment wasn’t meant to be rude. I think Jeremy has made it clear that they are not in a hurry to have kids. Congratulations to them for not bowing to family pressure to have dozens
if children that they cannot realistically support.

  13. Congrats on your anniversary ! It’s nobody’s business when you start a family. It is nice that you’ve had this time to really enjoy yourselves & experience a bit of life before children. Once you become parents you’ll enjoy life on an entirely different level. God bless you both!
