  4. Israel is looking so grown up in this picture. To me he looks like the Dillard side of the family, and Samuel looks like the Duggar side at this stage, anyway. They look so happy and healthy. Adorable! C

  6. Aww what a cute family photo Israel looks like Jill maybe more like Derek Samuel could like Jill a bit not so sure. Out of all the couple's they were my favorite I remember one episode of 19 kids & counting the alarm went off when Jill gave Derek a front hug instead of a side hug in the airport. The whole Duggar family was waiting for Derek & His mom to show up.

    1. Ummmm I do not see a skirt at all. Just a sweater and top. I think you are viewing other pics somewhere else and sharing comments from that site.

    2. Anon @ 12:01 If you go to the Dillards blog you will see more photographs (these are just two from a shoot) and Jill is wearing a skirt with the sweater and top that is above her knees. She should wear them more often, she has great legs lol.

    3. Jill and the girls have regularly worn skirts above the knee. Just look at Jill and Jessa's engagement photos, for example.

    4. I don't see a skirt in these pics either but if she did wear a shorter skirt that is good :)

    5. If you look on the Dillards site, there are more photos from this shoot, including pictures with Jill's skirt, which is just above the knee. Shorter than normal for a Duggar girl, but hardly earth-shattering. The knees aren't exactly the prettiest or most flattering part of the body; I'm wondering why their revelation is such cause for congratulations.

Wishing I could mail some warm stockings or leggings to Jill. A bit chilly for exposed legs this time of year. Glad however they are doing well.

  15. Wow, Israel's face has really changed. He actually kind of looks like some of Josh and Anna's kids in that picture. That's the first time I've ever thought he looked like a Duggar. Samuel resembles his daddy strongly in these pictures.

  19. Thank you so much for the photos! We especially love seeing the growing babies. All Duggar(Seewald, Dillard, etc)babies are cute but Israel and Samuel are just super cute in my opinion. Could be that my God-son was a cute towhead baby too. God bless all these little ones.

    7. Actually I agree. Whenever I see pictures of young Michelle, I see a lot of Jill. I also see a lot of Jessa in young Michelle so I see the resemblance more a combination of the two daughters.

  26. How do you ever birth a baby with a head that size and shape? Ouch.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She had an emergency c section. No way that big baby was going to be born naturally. I hope Jill and sam are recovering well. It's just so odd that everyone is so quiet about sans birth and Jim bob and michelle barely acknowledges him. There's so many pictures of all the other grand babies but sam is the least celebrated. Even Merideth and Mason get more recognition... it's just really weird for the Duggars to be so hush hush about sam.

    2. They don't always come out that way :). My son was small but after a few months his head got big! It was cute

      Delete
    3. Aww man, someone had to go and ruin the nice comments with a rude and unnecessary comment. Let's keep trying!

      Delete
    4. You seriously don't know how babies with large heads are delivered? Or are you just trying to see if you can get by with a derogatory remark, when the owners of this blog have promised not to allow them?

      Delete
    5. She did have a c-section, so his head thankfully wasn't an issue (unless that's why she had to have a c-section!).

      Delete
    6. You do know baby's heads grow. So his head was not that big during birth. And she had a C-section.

    7. 3:35, Sam was born about the same time Derick stirred the pot with TLC. And we still don't know why they left SOS, voluntarily or not. So I wouldn't be surprised if things were a little "tense" with the in-laws this past summer.

    8. My friend had a natural birth and should have had a C-sect. Her son had partial paralysis in his right arm :(. He is doing great with therapy but he was too big to come natural

      Delete
    9. Anonymous at 9:09- I'm sorry that your friend's baby has had to go through that, but so glad he's doing great. Therapy sometimes is very tough, but I'm thankful for it as is helps. It is a shame that sometimes either the OB is so prideful that he/she can deliver any baby (with little regard for the mother's size/the baby's size and position) or the mother is militantly "natural childbirth" at the expense of her baby (oftentimes because she's been lead to believe by others that it's the best for her baby or that a C-Section somehow makes her less of a real woman/good mother). Ten years ago the OB's, nurses, birthing centers where I live were militantly "natural Childbirth"- to do any less was nearly child abuse. My wise old OB counseled me to have a planned C-Section with my breach baby as the practice had previously lost another breach baby in the turning process (they couldn't see the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck-the turning strangled the baby). Minutes before being wheeled into OR, the sub OB tried to convince me to turn my baby...not a chance. I was made to feel "selfish" repeatedly by other "Natural Birth warriors" for the first two years until I explained about the strangled baby and my choice. IT's crazy how women pick the stupidest things to judge and devour one another for. Sheesh! Since then, my one militantly natural childbirth friend found herself between an emergency C-Section or both of them dying. The C-Section suddenly became acceptable. ;)

  29. Why the silence? This is history and it either occurred or did NOT occur.....did Jill have a hysterectomy after Sam's birth or not? This is not an intrusive question, it is a general one since this family has gone to great lengths to publicize their personal marital practices and beliefs....which are no one's business and it not modest. This question is perfectly appropriate so please answer it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wow - where to start? Well, first, "Did you have a C-section" IS an intrusive question, no matter how you try to justify it. Of course, they still may be willing to answer that question if you ask them directly, but you may want to conquer your anger first and ask them nicely. Perhaps give them a reason why you need to know. And no, the Duggars don't go to great lengths to publicize their practices and beliefs. They permit TLC to come along with them sometimes as they live their lives. When they were first approached for "14 Kids and Pregnant Again", the producers said, "It's your story - tell it the way you want to." So even the company paying them to share some of their details doesn't own their every thought, word, and action. As far as I know, you have never paid them a dime, and have no right whatsoever to demand that they furnish you with any further information.

      Delete
    2. To Anon at 11:14 am. She didn't ask if Jill had a C-section. She asked if she'd had a hysterectomy. The C-section is public knowledge...we know she had one. The hysterectomy question is the one that is very intrusive.

      Delete
    3. Anon 11:14 Your response would make a little more sense if it wasn't for the fact that their births are filmed for all the world to see. They publish pictures of the new babies in Tabloids and talk about the birth in those tabloids. So that person's question is legitimate since the process of all the births have been publicised up until little Samuels birth.

      Delete
    4. I can't believe you're demanding information on whether or not she had a medical procedure that is absolutely none of your business. Just because people come up with theories that she might have had one doesn't mean that she owes anyone a confirmation of their gossipy speculation.

      Delete
    5. 9:09- If this were any ordinary family, I would agree with you. However, the Duggars have been making a living from selling their private moments- from pregnancy tests, rather graphic childbirth scenes and lengthy labors, miscarriage, serious medical problems, first kisses... the list goes on. It stands to reason that some viewers will be curious about their secrecy of certain life events that they ordinarily have no problem sharing with the world.

      Delete
    6. 12:38 - But we don't know Jill even had that "life event" of a hysterectomy. Just because readers make up a possible scenario doesn't mean that Jill has to confirm whether or not they're right. And besides, the Duggars chose to share the things you mention. They didn't have to do so. No doubt there are other things we don't know about them because they haven't chosen to share them.

      Delete
  30. No, but I had a hysterectomy myself some years ago.
I don't think the question, which is a general one, is inappropriate in the least considering what this family has shared, shown on TV and spoken about. They openly talk about their reproductive beliefs, sleeping arrangements and have spoken about Michelle's private female monthly calendar. Many people follow Jill and her road in life and are concerned if she suffered any lasting effects from Israel and Samuel's birth and delivery. So, this family can't have it both ways. When one is paid to put their lives out there, there are no screens in the windows...Also, they had their chance to 'retire' from public life (albeit in disgrace) when their little secret about Josh was made known and they fought their way back on TV....so they want it and all that comes with it, especially the TLC pay check. So, please quit YOUR hateful comments.

    2. Time will tell. Actually, we don't need an announcement. If she doesn't become pregnant again, we will know she had a hysterectomy.

      Delete
    3. "No screens in the windows"? That's nonsense. They're not obliged to tell us anything they don't want to tell us. And it's pretty selfish to demand that of them.

      Delete
    4. The question may not be "inappropriate," but it is intrusive. We have no "right" to make up speculations based on the simple fact that we haven't seen a lot of pics or heard any birth details and then demand that they confirm whether or not our made-up stories are real.

      Delete
  31. I didn't see anyone 'demanding' information on this website. Someone asked a general question based on what they had put out about this situation. No word from the Dillards or Duggars about what went down is very unlike them, as they put out such improper personal information about themselves as it is.

  32. I agree with the posters questioning the lack of coverage regarding little Samuel's birth- it is a marked deviation from the Duggar's normal standard of sharing intimate and personal moments with their fans/viewers via their shows, People magazine, the Today show, Good Morning America, and numerous other outlets. The silence is deafening and problematic because it is so pronounced. When you share all of what should be your private moments with thousands of viewers and readers and suddenly don't, you should expect questions- you've established the expectation that you'd share. The questions are fair game and the people questioning don't deserve to be labelled "nosy", "intrusive", "rude" or any other insulting term. Jill and Derick have very obviously chosen not to "trumpet" Samuel's birth with the same emphasis they placed on Israel's and the Duggar family as a whole has largely been mum, they've invited speculation by their uncharacteristic behavior. Viewers and fans are not deaf or blind; they know the difference. By not addressing it, in any form, it's just served to increase speculation and inflame rumor (speculation and rumor are not the same things, by the way). Clearly, things involving Samuel are different as Jill and Derick suddenly deviated after Samuel's arrival and continue to deviate from the usual Duggar family promotion practice- a steady stream of pictures marking each month of the baby's life and all the in between camera worthy cute little moments, to keep their fan base engaged in them and their show. I think they decided to just ignore it and mistakenly assumed that it would all just blow over. Relationship-wise, I think a brief statement to viewers/fans would have been wiser. If Samuel suffers from a health issue (and I sincerely hope the little guy does not) and it comes to light later, it's going to look like they were hiding it (and be cast in that light). If it was a birth-related injury due to Jill's choices, it will be even worse (and they can kiss their Christian witness to the world goodbye). Yes, some are asking because they do not trust the Duggars and question their honesty, but I think a number of posters are asking about a hysterectomy out of concern for Jill and her well-being. I think even some who may genuinely dislike the Duggars may still have compassion on Jill herself should that be the case because they have been there themselves. Judging from what I read here on a regular basis, I think many are personally concerned for her because everything about Samuel's birth and his first four months has been noticeably different, not just a little unusual. Jill and Derick/Michelle and Jim Bob could easily end the speculation and the rumors with a simple statement one way or the other. They have chosen not to. If this is a ploy to keep viewers/fans/the public guessing, they can kiss their ratings goodbye because no one likes to be manipulated, especially if they were concerned.
