Jill and Joy

Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth and Jill (Duggar) Dillard have always been close. Growing up, Joy was Jill's buddy, and the two were inseparable. When Jill tied the knot, Joy was standing next to her as a bridesmaid, and when Joy said 'I Do,' she chose Jill as her matron of honor.

  1. I hope that Kendra is pregnant since she was just a little behind Joy on the talking stage, courting, engagement, wedding.

    1. Why would you hope she is pregnant. Why can't they enjoy married life for a bit. I love that jinger and jeremy are taking the time to have some time for them before children. Because once you have kids you dont get alot of time alone together. Once you are living together alone you get to know each other alot better. I hope she takes some time she is young. She has alot of time.

    2. speaking of Kendra & Joesph, there has been nothing said about them in a long time. Can you please give us an update on them?

  2. Out of curiosity, we always hear about Jill's buddy team with Joy, James and Jennifer being very close. How about Jana's, Jessa's and Jinger's buddy team: are they that close as well or is that different.

    1. I am interested in learning more about this too. Are any of the boys buddies to their younger brothers? I thought the buddies helped with getting dressed, brushing teeth, etc so it seems like this wouldn't work well for a sister to do, with all the boys sharing one room and with sinks located inside the room.

    2. Yes! I'd love to hear about the other teams, too.

    3. So do I! I miss seeing the little kids grow up. I loved the parenting skills and the sibling interactions on 19&Counting and wish they would put Michelle back on the show

  3. Jill and Joy always remember to make time for each other and hold tight to that sister bond girls. My sister and I as we got married and had children always made sure that we took time for each other and now as we are getting older that bond has gotten even stronger and there is no one who could ever be what we are for each other now. We always thank God that we are sisters and best friends. Our husbands encourage our relationship and they are inspired to also be close with their siblings by watching me and my sisters bond.

  4. Jana and Joy Anna are very pretty.

  5. I had two brothers, never knew the bond of a sister.
Joy will be fortunate to have Jill by her side during the birth of her first baby. (Jana too).
These sisters are blessed to have each other - the little sisters will find that same bond.

Happy holidays to ALL the Duggars.

  10. I still don't like that wedding dress. The neckline is so high it may as well be a turtleneck. It's not a flattering neckline on any body type. It shortens the neck and makes the face look fuller. And the waistline was somewhere between natural and empire, but missing both marks. Not the best Duggar dress, by far. I also find it amusing that Joy is wearing a lower neckline in the picture with her sisters!

    1. Woman wear different types of clothes that have different necklines. Joy's likes may have changed during those 3 years. Either way, she is still beautiful.

    2. Really! Don't think any cares whether you liked it or not.

    3. I think Joy, who admittedly hates to shop, was in wedding countdown mode and overwhelmed by details and choices. She came across as really just wanting to become Mrs. Austin Forsythe and be married. She's not the fashionista of the family by any means (no slam in that- I think she might be more grounded and practical in some ways). While I agree the cut of the waist could have been more flattering, as well as the way the sleeves were implemented, Joy was a beautiful, glowing bride and I really liked that the high neckline showcased her necklace. I thought it was sweet that she incorporated lace because Austin liked lace. Every girl wants to wow her husband-to-be when she walks down that aisle. :)

    4. No, the different dress elements didn't really seem to go together. I hope she loved it, though, since she was the one who had to wear it.

      Delete
    5. Well, luckily you don't have to like it since only Joy and Austin have to!

      Delete
    6. Well you wouldn't like our Conservative Mennonite wedding dresses. They are homemade using a simple modet pattern and there is no stress about trying on expensive wedding gowns. The focus is never on what the bride wears as that is not important but her and her husband's vow to love each other until death departs them.

    7. Whatever happened to "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"? It seems that as long as people can hide behind "Anonymous", that bit of advice goes out the window. And I don't buy the idea that this is "where we can post differing opinions" or "Since they put their lives out there, they should expect people to judge them". I don't think there's EVER a reason to be uncharitable. Your negative opinions are not necessary, and they ARE hurtful. I hope that Joy does not read these comments and see how "unflattering" you all think her wedding dress was. She was a beautiful bride inside and out.

  11. who is right I thought the duggars always said Joy and Austin were best friends? there they go lying again I think these people need to get their act in order and stop lying to the public saying one day Austin is joys best friend then Jill next will be Jana?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's NOT lying. Joy and Austin consider each other best friends now since they've gotten to know one another, fell in love, and got married. However, Jill and Joy grew up together! They became very close as sisters and buddy team members. And by the way, you can have more than one "best friend" - it's just a term used for your very closest friend or friends.

    2. Sigh! There are some wives including myself, who will refer to their husbands as their best friends. That is because he is hopefully closest to us emotionally and is there for us.
We may also have a friend whether that is a sibling or not that we feel very close to whom we will call our best friend. It's not lying.

    3. Sister friendship is alot different than a husband friendship. Sometimes a girl needs to talk to another girl. No need to get upset

    4. Apparently Anon@7:10, you either aren't married, or are married with no friends? If you are married, then your spouse is usually considered your best friend, but it is also typical to have a "best friend" who is not your spouse. You know, the person you're closest to BESIDES your spouse. This is usually a sister or other girlfriend if you are a woman, and a brother or other guy if you are a man? Why are you trying to stir up trouble just because you pretend not to understand what they mean? Please grow up and find some charity in your heart.

    5. My husband would be insulted if I called him my best friend. He's so much more than that!! And I don't want to be called his "friend," either.

    6. If my husband ever introduced me as his friend, he'd stand to be UNfriended. Starting with sleeping on the couch!

  12. Not meaning this to be rude, but Jana is by far the most sincere, genuinely sweet, spiritually & emotionally mature, compassionate, reliable, and diligent of the girls. It kind of bothers me to see her repeatedly serving her sisters and supporting them in so many ways (large and small) for years, and yet they choose another sister as their maid of honor. I get the whole "Buddy Group Leader" thing, but Jana's the only one who hasn't acted like a Diva, entitled, or vain at some point on national TV in 13 years. She really is worth far more than rubies. Truth.

    1. Wasn't she Jill's maid of honor?

    2. She surely is worth a great deal more than rubies.

    3. I can't believe that her sisters, especially Jill, would take advantage of Jana and have her redesign the bridesmaids dresses. That was over and above maid-of-honor duties. When Jana gets married, her sisters owe her more than a few favors.

    4. Those do-it-yourself bridesmaid dresses drove me crazy! Not much better were the lace tablecloth numbers that must have cost a fortune.

  13. I have 4 sisters. We are all a year or less apart in age. Never knew how lucky we were, nor realized the gift our parents gave us! 5 "best" friends for life. Friends come and go, sisters are for LIFE!

    6. I think Agatha was referring to anon 5:00 who posted criticisms of Joy Anna and her wedding dress ( neckline too high, waistline to low, etc). She should have posted it as a reply to that comment, but apparently started it as a new comment by mistake. I see what she means.

  15. It is beautiful how well bonded the sisters are and likely these little cousins will grow up close as well even if not physically there is so much technology to achieve the same goal today. What a blessing to be part of a large family filled with Christ's love, mercy and grace. To have grown children and grands coming behind with hearts for charity for giving to Christ by tending to the needs of others. Papa Digger is for sure bowing at Christ's feet and having a heart of delight over these grands and great grands.

  16. I thought Jill and Joy's wedding dresses both had ill-fitting waistlines that sort of ruined their look. I assume they must do that to de-accentuate their bust line. I agree that of all the Duggar and Bates wedding dresses, Jill and Joy's were the most plain and unflattering. Even Anna's fit her nicely and was very pretty even though it was rather plain. I thought she looked very pretty in it. Jinger's was my favorite.

    1. Ya know, there are some legitimate reasons to criticize adult members of the Duggar clan and extended family, but really... a detailed critique of their wedding dresses? That's hitting below the belt!

      Delete
    2. There's nothing wrong with critiquing the dress. You prefer criticizing the family members over talking about a dress??

      Delete
    3. Do you want someone to comment on what they thought of your dress? It is so unnecessary to comment on something someone else wore. They can’t go back and change, and it is rude to insult what someone else loved. They picked their dresses because they liked them and their opinion is the only one that matters.

      Delete
    4. There's an entire industry based on critiquing what someone else wore - the fashion industry. You are a "celebrity" of any kind, you wear anything in public, you are going to hear comments. The price you pay for fame.

    5. This family banks on people being interested in details of their lives, including wedding dresses. They make entire episodes around out of state dress shopping. Their livelihood relies on people taking an interest. They ought to be thanking the commentary about the dress. Without it they'd be needing to find proper jobs like the rest of the world.

  18. The last sentence of the photo caption is confusing. Why would Joy ask Jill to be her matron of honor AFTER she said, "I do"? Wasn't Jill asked beforehand?
