Joseph and Kendra in Panama

In mid-August, Joseph Duggar and fiance Kendra Caldwell embarked on a mission trip to Panama. They were accompanied by a group of friends, including Kendra's sister (Lauren Caldwell), Joy's mother-in-law (Roxanne Forsyth), and the gal who made Jinger's wedding cake.

While there, they partnered with local missionaries, shared their faith, and helped build a church building.

  3. Those are some cute pictures! They look so in love! But if there were no caption saying they were on a brief mission trip to help build a church and share the gospel then it just looks like a vacation and photo ops.....

  4. Wij are they not helping people in the US that need real help? Instead of this holiday.... Building houses for hurricane vicyims? Helping in local churches

    1. If you actually read the whole post you would have seen that they took that in mid August way before Hurricane Harvey.

    2. Did it occur to you that the trip was planned long before the hurricane?

    3. But the trip was planned long AFTER other hurricanes and natural disasters. People are still trying to recover from Hurricane Matthew last year, and H. Sandy, and.... This cycle repeats every year, and it can take years to rebuild.

  5. At least they didn't hit up the public to pay their way on this mission, his bil should take note!

  6. I love going on vacations with friends, too! Especially international ones. So exciting. Only we don't call it "mission work," we just call it vacation, or traveling.

    2. Do you share your faith and help build churches on your vacations?

    3. Sigh... I double dog dare you to go on a mission trip and call it a vaca with friends. Have several friends and family memebers who have been to Central America in the last year. It was hard work. Know some who have been further afield. One's prejudice is being exposed.

    4. Doesn't look like they're working to me

  7. Alright, enough with the "folks" and "gals" and "fellas."

    1. It's a southern thing, don't tell people how to talk

    2. We use those words in Los Angeles, too. Not sure why they are offensive to some, but that's their problem not mine.

    3. Y'all can expect people from the south to speak like it, can't you?

    4. Oh my! I have fellas, little fellas, girlies, hey you folks and y'alls where I live. Tis only regional colloquialisms.

    1. Ever been in a brightly lit, sunny indoor area? I wear mine. I've always had sensitive eyes. See how much Joseph is squinting? Mine would have been on.

  10. "the gal who made Jinger's wedding cake." What a claim to fame, doesn't even need a name.

  12. When I saw the headline I thought I was going to be reading about a wedding or honeymoon (stalking tonight to see if they're getting married this weekend) :). That's a great thing to get to do together! May they continue to be able to minister together after they get married.

  13. Wow that's nice ! Good idea to do it before you have children.

  18. Kendra is his fiancée. Fiancé is the man. :)

    1. You are correct but most use fiancé interchangeably.

    2. Well, people also use loose for the word lose when they type, doesn't make it correct.

  19. I just think this is so special. What a great thing to do. In the midst of planning your wedding, to stop and think of others and put them and the word of God first. How wonderful. Eileen
