  12. Congratulations! The best thing that happened my first year of marriage was finding out we were expecting. It made my husband and I excited to solidify our marriage for a child to join us. Selfishness has to leave for children to come. Kids are worth it! Yeah to Ben and Jessa!

  16. Is there a way to put closed captions or subtitles on the video and on future videos? I'm deaf when I don't have my cochlear implant to hear and sometimes I still miss a few words from trying to read lips. Thank you.

  24. I'm happy for the and may they be blessed with a health pregnancy, delivery and baby! However, I'd like to think TLC could find other important "announcements" to make with 19 kids than just courtships, engagements, weddings and pregnancies!!!

  53. Every time a Duggar has a baby is not necessarily news worthy. Let me tell you, people have been doing it for many centuries. Let me know when one of the Duggars discover the cure for cancer, takes on the worlds environmental issues or anything that is significant to the rest of the world!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Congrats J and B!!!!! Hey has anyone else noticed that all the duggar girls have greenish blueish eyes?? Just thought that was pretty interesting! 😀😀😀😀😁😂😄😅😊😆😇😉😘😍😜😝😋🙌🙋🙌🙋🙌🙋🙌🙋🙌🙌😭🙋🙌🙋🙌

  55. Robin Meador,
They still have six months to be together! Why do people assume that couples should have a couple of years to themselves. Coming from more of a conservative perspective, that's selfish. Marriage doesn't mean just two of them, it means the beginning of a family with children, should god will it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Congrats! They'll make great parents. I actually thought the special news wouldn't be a baby, but that Ben was planning on going to attend school or the seminary!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Congrats Jessa and Ben! May God bless you and your baby!

    ReplyDelete
  58. So excited for them! If Josiah and Marjorie have a short courtship and short engagement, they could be expecting before Jessa gives birth!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Congratulations and best wishes to you both. I can't think of a nicer couple to have been blessed with a son or daughter. We know that you are going to raise any children you have with a knowledge of the bible and to love the Lord. Hope you will continue to feel well Jessa and Ben we know you are going to be an awesome Dad as well as Jessa a Mom. The best is yet to come for both of you. Can't wait to see where the Lord will take you next!

  60. @AnonymousI think Ben is very happy but he doesn't show it on the outside as much as Jessa does.

  61. Lily or Ellie, would you be able to find out what color and brand of paint that was used in the kitchen of Jessa and Bens home, please? I like the color and you pretty much need the brand of paint to get it. Thank you

  62. @Anonymous 34:

Agreed! Love that… They have been coming up with rather interesting ways to announce things. :) Like it! Oh! I'm so excited for Jessa! And Ben! So, they wait for the bump to actually show to announce… Well, at last they have! Yay! So happy! You know I've been waiting forever for her to get pregnant? LOL:)

    1. You are one of the few. If you've ever watched the Duggars you'd know they don't believe in birth control and want to have as many kids as God sends them so I don't know Why people think that they would wait to have children, how can they prevent it?
It is expected of them is what I think wether I agree with them or not

  71. I guess they get paid for the TV appearances, look what honeymoon they got from TLC!, so there is no worry about money with the upcoming baby.

  72. At the end of Tuesday's show, they shared Jessa and Ben's announcement. Then showed something with Josie with Jana standing over her. Then they went on with the end of the show. What was that all about? Couldn't understand what Michelle was saying.

  73. Congrats to the both of you. You both make a wonderful couple. Watch the show all the time

  74. Congratulations to Ben and Jessa. I think you two will have beautiful baby with parents being absolutely gorgeous. Hope you have a great pregnancy and a easy (hopefuly) delivery. Love watching the show :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Why some people think it's happening too fast? Usually people worry how they will bring up children financially, and in this situation the couple is financially ok.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hi I cant see the clip could you please add a link or something?

  77. I'm a 69 year old Christian gramma, about the only shows I am interested in watching on TV is the Duggar and Bates reality "shows". Real people, their love for the Lord shows up big time. I love keeping up with the courtships, marriages and pregnancies! Congratulations to Josiah and Margaret;s courtship and Brandon and Michaela's engagement. I have fallen in love with your families.

  78. They should name the baby something French or Italian.

  79. THEY TOTALLY HINTED AT TWINS!

  80. How exciting! Congrats to the both of you!

  81. I wish them the best. Looking back many years ago, I can't imagine having married any 19 year old fellow and having a child right away. I was working on a degree and concerned with being financially independent. However, whatever works for you is what counts. I hope it works for them.

    ReplyDelete
  82. We were married just as young as Jessa and Ben and had our first baby in the first year. We made it our goal to grow and enjoy the journey together. LOL, lots and LOTS of people said "you're too young, you will miss out, you will regret..." They were utterly wrong. We are now in our late 40s, empty nesters, house paid off next year, otherwise debt free, enjoying our first grandchild and financially and physically able to do anything and everything we would like to do. Looking forward to spending two weeks bumming around the Florida Keys with my best friend/husband in July. Would not change a moment of our journey together. God is GOOD!!!!!!

To all the young couples starting out-- don't let naysayers try to tell you their idea of successful road should look like. Make your own success together. Build your palace and stoke your own fires. Enjoy every single minute! Congrats and good luck Jessa and Ben!

    ReplyDelete
  83. OMG!!!! Congrats Ben and Jess!!!!

  84. Wish you all the best! I can't wait to get pregnant but have had trouble so I envy you being able to get pregnant that quickly!

  85. @~*Wendy
Response to Wendy: I am glad that your story is a happy one. Unfortunately, this is not the case for all young marriages. My sister was widowed at a young age and had three small children to take care of. She had no higher education or training and struggled to earn a living to support her family. Her retirement had to be delayed considerably. I was able to earn a college degree and establish myself in a satisfying career before I married and had a family. We are debt free and I retired early. I have no regrets about becoming financially independent on my own. I knew I could take care of myself and children should anything happen to my husband.

  87. @AnonymousI'm not sure what this has to do with my post encouraging young married people. But as you aptly illustrated, there are never guarantees in life. All the more reason I would encourage young couples like Jessa and Ben to follow their own dreams, make their own way and not give a moments thought to people who would try to drag them down with negative comments about their personal decisions. I'm glad to hear you are content with yours too! God bless!
