  1. Great idea to have some fruit:) It looks so delicious - and my, I miss raspberries and water melon. Also, such a fresh reminder of summertime, isn't it? I hope Hannie had a wonderful birthday:)

  2. Hard to believe Johanna and Justin and Jackson would prefer fruit over cake. Most children I know would always want a birthday cake.To each his own! There is nothing like a lovely birthday cake with the person's name and flowers on the cake.

  8. Completely random question: does anyone happen to know if any of the Duggars are left-handed (and if so, who?)?

  9. Call me cynical, but I'm 90% sure this was for the cameras, to show how "healthy" they eat... Sorry.

  10. This posting makes no sense. According to your own web site Johannah has a birthday in October. This post makes no sense. How about more frequent updates on baby dilly? Thank You.

  17. Hannie looks so much like her older Brother Josh.

  18. I think Hannie was just copying Jessa who said that she did not like cake and did not want it for her wedding :).

    1. Ditto, I love the Duggars too, they are a wholsome, loving family and I feel they are terribly misunderstood. I can only hope that they will continue to be blessed as they are such a blessing to others.

  22. Hello I am posting this again because I am not sure if my post made it through before. Thank you for being a good role model as a christian and raising children. I think it's great that jim-bob appears a little overprotective of the children (the girls). It shows that you care about everyone especially the girls while they are dating etc. I am new to watching your show and it has brought me closer to Christ. Thank you. 23. The video is from the last episode and it is well known that the show is several months behind. Her birthday is in October but TLC is just airing it now. :)

  24. Do people really not realize that some kids prefer fruit to cake? My kids do, what is the big deal? I think they wanted to show the video because it is something the other kids wanted. Most people complain that they only talk about the older kids so they showed something regarding the little kids and people still complain. Good job Lily and Ellie!

  28. To the people confused about Johannahs birthday, yes its in October, the show is not happening in real time. It was shot in October but the footage was just released. Just like Jessa and Ben arn't married on the show yet but are in real time This clear up it up for you?

  29. Hey you guys might LOVE CAKE, if you made it from scratch, you know using butter, sugar, milk, flour, REAL BUTTER ICING, AND NOT FROM A BOX!!! Try it, use metal flatware, use real plates too, I know, but it makes a difference, and it's also environmental too!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday Johanna, I remember your birth, from as fare back 16 children and moving in, and yes I've watched you guys that long!!!! Take care, and I hoped you had fun riding horses!!!

    1. Agree. This family eats too much junk food and canned food. Those wedding pies were not healthy and I just don't see too much healthy food being prepared in the Duggar kitchen, except for Derek. Agree also, enough of the paper plates on this show, could we please promote some environmental caring! -.agine if we all used disposable dinnerware like this family does, it would be terrible if we took this godly example from them. Please make an effort to use dishes and wash them, there are enough kids to help out! Like the family meals, just show us that you care about the environmental impact of using paper plates. Why do they use them anyway? Wish Miichelle would explain why it's necessary. We all need to do our part for the future kids, especially if you plan to have a large family, that's already a big carbon footprint. Every small bit can make a difference on this earth!

  31. I make cake from scratch (and it's good!), but my kids prefer that their candles are in other items. My son wants a special sushi roll, and my daughter wants fruit with chocolate fondue :-)

  32. I agree in part with Anonymous # 32. i too feel that the Duggars are misunderstood, But this misunderstanding came mostly due to the actions of only 3 of them. Can't blame TLC either. They just produce what they get through their filming. I still think this is a wonderful family, doing their best to serve God, but those 3 need to reevaluate what and how they present themselves on film.
We are all a work in progress and could use some realignment now and then.

  33. I know it's not fun to do the dishes all the time... but they only use paper plates... that being said I love the Duggars been watching since their very first show... I hope they stay on for a long time...oh and Jill I hope your birth goes well prayers for you

  34. I have beensending the same question to Jim Bob for 6 years. Rather than answering he sends me a bible verse. My question is simple: Do your children know how to swim? If so, what do they wear when learning? Do the women wear long skirts while the boys are at least allowed to wear shorts? Why wont he answer

  36. @Anonymous

    Hi Anonymous 40,

The Duggar kids do know how to swim. There was an episode about it a few years ago. The girls wear bathing suits from http://wholesomewear.com/ and the boys wear swim trunks and swim shirts.

    Blessings,
    Lily and Ellie
